Hello all!

I'm in the process of building another truck, and I'm at crossroads trying to decide what kind of axle/drivetrain setup it should have. I have narrowed it down to two options, and I'd like to know which one you guys think would be more interesting.

A) a 6x4 truck with full suspension - a live axle at the front and pendular suspension at the back

B) a 6x6 truck with an extra steered tag axle at back, but with NO suspension.

Agreed that a full suspension is more fun/challenging.

If you're feeling 'adventurous', how about some air-springs?

Yes, I just heard of a wonderful compressor. If you are building medium or large scale, use the large pneumatic cylinders; small-scale, use small pneumatic cylinders for your air "shock absorbers" instead of shock absorbers.

Here is that compressor: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=108379

I would go with the full suspension. It is more realistic and more complex.

Full suspension it is then! Thanks for the input guys.

Also, DrJB that's an interesting proposal. It would be a true challenge not just to design, but also to fund such a suspension system

Hopefully with the arrival of pneumatics 2.0 the prices of pneumatic cyclinders will go down so I could maybe take a stab at it.
