captaintau Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 EDIT: I couldn't help but notice that Boba Fett wasn't in this minifig challenge. I don't think he was in round 1 either. In match 25 of round 1, he defeated the Gamorrean Guard. He's yet to fight in round 2. Will there be a sequal to this challenge? I doubt it. There hasn't been that much interest in this one. I'm open to ideas, though. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Ahh. I just checked the list. Apparently when last I checked I missed him. I see much interest in this! 7 pages already! There are only 64 minifigs used in this one. I can surely see more than 64 figs in all, but maybe come 2008 there will be more oppurtunities. The Force Unleashed, (I noticed very few figs from the PT made it there. And in a possible sequel, more figs from the Complete Saga video game should be added. For example, Master Koon, Master Secura, and so on and so forth. But is should wait till '08) EU, and more! Quote
captaintau Posted August 20, 2007 Author Posted August 20, 2007 128 character? Man, that woudl draw out the competition. 2 months plus just for round 1. On reflect, I personally think 64 was too many but if I'd cut it to 32, we'd have missed out a lot of good fighters. Anyway, Darth Maul wins a predicatable match. Introducing into the next match, from this years' Clone Troopers Battle Pack, its the Shock Trooper. And his opponent from the Mos Eisley Cantina, is the bounty hunter Greedo. Round 2, match 12. Shock Trooper vs. Greedo Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Ok, Han Solo can easily kill a Stormtrooper(equal to a Shockie) and Greedo couldn't kill Han, so it's like they are both about equal. I think that Shockie wins because Greedo is a young bounty hunter and he isn't the greatest shot(I testify to this in the A New Hope Special Edition) and the Shockie has red paint. Btw, in a sequal to this, you should have 16 spaces available for people to post custom figures to include them, like a custom Captain Typho. That way there could be more characters not originally made by Lego. Quote
Siegfried Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 Greedo goes for the fast draw and wins, but for once the Stormtrooper's armour holds. He returns fire and Greedo is atomised. :-P Quote
jifel Posted August 20, 2007 Posted August 20, 2007 they apear about equal with guns, but the shockie has binoculars!shockie wins jifel Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 the shockie has a molded blaster compared to greedo megaphone/non existing one shockie wins Quote
Piranha Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 (edited) The shockie is proud of his last win against the clone trooper He is in the cantina sharing drinks with greedo "So then I blasted the idiot"-Shockie "Very impressive indeed"-greedo "But we both know I would shoot first"-greedo "You think you could kill me???"-shockie "well I'm saying that"-greedo "prove it"-shockie Greedo shoots first but misses "Loser"-shockie The shock trooper then shoots greedo in the head, killing him "Such a pathetic excuse for a rodian"-shockie Piranha Edited August 21, 2007 by Piranha Quote
captaintau Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 Firstly, the Shock Trooper is NOT equal to the Storm Trooper. Shockie has more advanced and mroe specialised training. Secondly, neither have guns, though Shockie probably has easy access to artiliary. I'm gonna go against the popular vote. Shockie is well versed in arrest procedures, restraint, armed and unarmed combat and elimination. But I'm thinking that Greedo wouldn't be in service as a BH unless he had some degree of competence. I suggest Greedo coudl be underrated. So they shoot at each other (Shockie has his own weapon, whereas Greedo uses the oen from the Cantina, which we generally assume to be Han's, though this is never proven.) Shockie wins this part. Out of firearm ammunition, they engage in unarmed combat. Greedo obviously cheats lots and ends up ripping off Shockie's helmet and choking him. Greedo wins Quote
Siegfried Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Secondly, neither have guns, though Shockie probably has easy access to artiliary. OK, i'm confused now. How are we supposed to tell who has a gun and who doesn't? At first I thought we went with the character, but I was wrong, then I thought we went with what was in the set... ...but it seems I am wrong there as well. Or am I right, but just confused? *wacko* I can't tell any more! :'-( :'-( :'-( :'-( Quote
Shadows Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 Yeah, that's not making any sense at all. If we're going to arbitrarily fill in detail, I'll add Greedo's background from "Tales of the Bounty Hunters." Two bit wannabe bounty hunter who got his start by turning over his tribe to an enemy. Never any form of success, no training and always looking for some kind of lucky turn. Never found it. Only "working for Jabba" because he'd put out a general bounty on Han. Even Jabba wouldn't have liked him personally, except as a drink. Yes, that's right. According to the book, Wuhrer discovers that the perfect ingredient for a special drink ends up being Greedo's corpse. He's just as much toast with a Shocktrooper as he is with Han. Quote

At first I thought we went with the character, but I was wrong, then I thought we went with what was in the set... I never set an actual rule, but seeing as how its "minifig" challenge rather than "character" challenge, I think its fair to assume its whats in the set. Then again, Greedo has a thermal detonator in the game. Off the top of my head, the only minfig I think of with access to a gun is the Snow Trooper in the Millennium Falcon. Or one of the Battle Droids in the Turbo Tank If we're going to arbitrarily fill in detail, I'll add Greedo's background from "Tales of the Bounty Hunters." jifel Posted August 21, 2007 Posted August 21, 2007 can some of you start posting in the bionicle challenge in the wargames section? jifel Quote
captaintau Posted August 21, 2007 Author Posted August 21, 2007 OK, so despite the thought of one idiot ( :-$ ) that Greedo was underrated, the Shock Trooper wins. The next match is well harsh. It takes place on Mustafa and features two Jedi Masters. The first comes wielding a Light-Up Lightsaber. Inb the lava-red corner, its Obi Wan Kenobi (Ultimate Lightsaber Duel). And his opponent, standing in the magma-black corner, its Yoda (Jedi Duel). Round 2, match 12. Obi Wan Kenobi (Ultimate Lightsaber Duel) vs. Yoda (Jedi Duel) Quote
Shadows Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 Obi Wan at his prime vs an aging but still strong Yoda. "Wearing your hood, you are, finding it too cold here Wanny? (no one knew that Yoda had a pet name for Obi Wan)" says Yoda. "It isn't my fault, this is how they designed me, you babbling old incoherent midget!" cries Obi Wan, becoming more and more frustrated with Yoda's constant bouncing around and taunting. "Short in height I may be, but short in the pants are you!" counters Yoda. "That does it!" Obi Wan screams, as he pulls on every ounce of darkside force he can manage and slices Yoda in half. "And people say you can't find LEGO half off anymore," chuckles Obi Wan as he walks away. Quote
Piranha Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) Being a crappy light up fig Obi aka Wanny(??) can only move his saber up and down Yoda wins by cutting his electric circuits, while Obi is complaining how he wished he wasn't a LUL Piranha Edited August 22, 2007 by Piranha Quote
jifel Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 i think obi blinds yoda and beheads him jifel Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 (edited) I have already seen another SW challenge and it ended with Yoda winning. The little green dude is too highly overrated. Obi-wan is also more hardened, slightly more tactically smarter, and younger. EDIT: Forgot to write my outcome: Obi-wan wins. Edited August 22, 2007 by trooperdavinfelth Quote
andy_0306uk Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 i think obi blinds yoda and beheads himjifel yoda might be blinded but obi can't behead him as he can only move his lightsaber up and down yoda wins purely cuz he's a lil cute green fella Quote
Commander Andrew of 501 st Posted August 22, 2007 Posted August 22, 2007 obi and yoda are yelling at each other yoda:baby you are, fight me you will not Obi: oh yeah EAT THIS YOU SLIMY LITTLE TOAD (obi wan slices yoda;s head clean off Quote
captaintau Posted August 22, 2007 Author Posted August 22, 2007 Lets see the latest fight records for these two: TPM: Obi Wan cleanly defeats Darth Maul AOTC: Obi Wan is easily defeated by Darth Tyranus, but Yoda holds his own ROTS: Darth Tyranus again easily defeats Obi Wan, but is put down by Anakin. The very same Anakin becomes Darth Vader and is arguably at his most powerful when this very version Obi Wan does the slicve-and-dice. Meanwhile, Yoda has to retreat from Anakin's Master. Obi Wan has faced tough opposition, not always won, but certainly improved. Yoda has yet to really show us his worth. I say Obi Wan after a hard-fought match, leaving Yoda wishing he'd had a LULS version of him made! Quote
captaintau Posted August 23, 2007 Author Posted August 23, 2007 I make it 5-3 Obi Wan, advancing him into round 3 at the expense of the Jedi Grand Master. Your next match comes from the Republic Army Barracks on Coruscant. Featuring first, Jedi Master Mace Windu (LULS version). And his opponent, a Droideka from Jedi Defence 1. Round 2, match 13. Mace Windu (LULS) vs. Droideka (Jedi Defence I) Quote
Piranha Posted August 23, 2007 Posted August 23, 2007 (edited) Mace wins Its that simple He uses his LULness to power down the droideka and slices him in half How can a LUL win against yoda?? Greatest jedi who ever lived! Piranha Edited August 23, 2007 by Piranha Quote
