captaintau Posted August 15, 2007 Author Posted August 15, 2007 It occurs to me that this version of Yoda doesn't actually have a Lightsaber. Yoda is very powerful indeed. But this is wisened, older, Obi Wan. Yoda's only weapon is the "Force", but Obi Wan has spent the last, what, 18 years in meditation and Force development, hence being able to appear to Luke post-death. So Yoda tries hurling Obi Wan off a cliff, but Obi Wan redirects the Force push. They have an almighty Force fight among the tree tops with Yoda staying ahead, but just barely. Ultimately, Obi Wan gets close enough to strike Yoda with his Lightsaber A close and hard-fought win for Obi Wan Quote
Piranha Posted August 15, 2007 Posted August 15, 2007 (edited) Yoda spent over 100 years getting a better understanding of the force 18 years is nothing However he does have a lightsaber so here is what happens Yoda force pushes obi wan into a wall so hard it breaks Obi's back Then obi throws his saber at yoda, impaling him Right before he dies he manages to throw the lightsaber back, cutting Obi Wans head off Yoda then dies Since Yoda managed to outlive Obi by 2 minutes he wins this match Piranha Edited August 15, 2007 by Piranha Quote
xbloodyfangs Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Yoda would pwn Obi without even a lightsaber! Yoda FTW! Quote
Clonie Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Well I think Obi would win, he has a lightsaber and that would account for a lot. Quote
Siegfried Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Yoda in his prime versus an old out of practice Obi-Wan? No contest. Yoda wins by force throwing Obi off a tree to his death. Quote
Legoman Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 obi got out his lightsaber the wrong way he pointed it at yoda pushed the botton and died. (saber through heart) yoda wins Quote
Shadows Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 A fierce battle, Yoda jumping around, tossing all kinds of things at Obi Wan who manages to fend them off with both the force and his sabre. Time passes. Obi Wan turns off his sabre and says, "if you strike me down, I will ... " as Yoda force pushes him through a wall of rock, off a cliff, down into a ravine, and then directs the mountain to bury him. "Blah blah blah, always chatty was he," mutters Yoda, "now his ghost I'll probably have to listen to." Quote

captaintau Posted August 16, 2007 Author Posted August 16, 2007 OK, I'm calling this match early simply because I don't know if I'll have time later with going first to the Dojang, then to work. I make it a close win for Yoda. The next match features Obi Wan Kenobi AGAIN. That's three out of the last four matches, folks. Again I promise that draws are completelt random. This match takes place in the arena on Geonosis. First, the lord of the arena, Sith Appentice Darth Tyranus. And his opponent, arriving by Delta-7 Aetherprite, its Jedi Knight Obi Wan Kenobi. Round 2, match 7. Darth Tyranus vs. Obi Wan Kenobi (Jedi Starfighter) Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 16, 2007 Posted August 16, 2007 Again, I have to say, it was a damn hard match. 5 votes for Yoda, 4 for Obi-wan. Anyway, since Obi-wan proved that he could easily have gotten a slice on the arm and a dot on the knee, Tyranus could very easily kill him, since it was Anakin who interfered with him. If you watch Epi. 2, Dooku was pulling a smack-down swing. Dooku wins. Quote
captaintau Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 I concur. Darth Tyranus easy win. Quote
Siegfried Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 "Let's take him together", Obi-Wan says, before he realises he is alone. Ooops. Darth Tyranus cuts him down while he is still perplexed as to how this match ever started.... Quote
Piranha Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 This is a hard choice here Obviously Obi has the upper hand for being a knight.........Wait!! Dooku is sith lord,no match at all here!! he first battles Obi Wan for a little while,Dooku gets tired out and uses force lightning on him Obi tries to block but doesn't realize until it too late Dooku fries Obi Wan killing him,Dooku Wins Piranha Quote
Shadows Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Putting it in perspective ... Anakin owned Tyranus. Obi Wan owned Anakin. A tough fight, but I think Obi Wan can take him. Even flashing back a bit, Tyranus was Qui Gon's master, and Qui Gon fell to Maul, who Obi Wan took out. I would have loved a Qui Gon / Tyranus match in real movie form. Now that would have been epic. All in all, given the right amount of rage, Obi Wan at that point was very strong and Dooku was always too smug. Difficult but entirely attainable victory for Obi Wan. Quote
captaintau Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 Can I just ask what all this "owned" is about? I don't see any characters being possessions of any other. Except obviously young Anakin and his mother who were "owned" as it were by Watto. Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Lol, that's a good one, tau! *tu tu, tsssinnggg* Ownage is the fact that one character owned the other character in that because the other character was owned by the owner, he couldn't do anything. Therefore, ownage. It's like a kind of power field that surrounds the owner and if the other character comes in to the field, they become owned. It's also another way to say pwned. Quote

That still doesn't make any sense. Ownage is based on being owned? Mmmmm, OK. See my above post :-/ Quote
trooperdavinfelth Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Well, it's not in a sense actually paying money to own, it's more like a subtle sense of the word. Here's another example: 'You just got n00bed.' That means you got killed by a noob or by someone with a noob weapon. In this case: 'You just got owned' it means the person who killed you literally has so much power over you he literally owns you, therefore he can basically do whatever he wants with you. Quote
jifel Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 obi dominated anakin who dominated dooku, so the old man dies! jifel Quote

That makes even less sense *wacko* In this case: 'You just got owned' it means the person who killed you literally has so much power over you he literally owns you, therefore he can basically do whatever he wants with you. Killing does not inherantly lead to posession. Also the way in which "own" is being used. As a verb in place of something like "overcomes". Makes no sense at all. Quote
captaintau Posted August 17, 2007 Author Posted August 17, 2007 I make it 4-2 to Darth Tyranus, who advances to round 3. The next match is again Jed vs Sith. And what an interesting match of individuals. Its really a case of "If I knew then..." First we have Jedi Master Qui Gon Jinn. And his opponent, Sith Apprentice Darth Vader (ISD) Ouch! Round 2, match 8. Qui Gon Jinn vs. Darth Vader (ISD) Quote
Piranha Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Qui Gon wins For one DV is part cybernetic and can't do fancy lightsaber moves However Qui Gon can so being a Jedi knight/almost master he wins Qui Gon Slices Vader's breathing panel, causing him to die choking Piranha Quote
PocasNuckie Posted August 17, 2007 Posted August 17, 2007 Qui Gon jumps on DV that keeps defending very well all the time. When DV finnally has a breach to attack, he does it, but does nothing but cut a lot of Qui-Gon's long air. Unfortunately for DV a sneaky bad hair gets through his breathing masks system, wich makes DV sneeze... this sneeze causes some kind of short-cirtuit wicked reaction that blow's up DV's suit. That said... Qui-Gon Wins... ... but now with not so much hair! Quote
jifel Posted August 18, 2007 Posted August 18, 2007 (edited) qui gon prepares to duel when he recognises dv and takes out a photo album. when he learns what happened to his padawan he turns and guts *vader* jifel Edited August 18, 2007 by jifel Quote
captaintau Posted August 18, 2007 Author Posted August 18, 2007 Qui Gon's cry of "What have you become?" is cut short by his head being cut off. Quote
