Orange Leader Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I finished this one recently for a change! This is also my first redux MOC, which meanse It's based on LEGO set 6897 - Rebel Hunter. The prison hatch system remains and is closely reproduced. I had to settle with trans. black instead of trans. green, because of relying on what I had at the moment in my LEGO collection. I think darker windshields are a cool alternative for Space Police 2, don't you think? I also tried to get the picture as natural as possible, without too much Photoshop effort. Quote
lightningtiger Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Cool retro design there 'Orange Leader'.......Brick On ! Quote
mikaelsol Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 I like this design! Originally but also retro-modern. Quote
danth Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Too bad Lego refuses to make any new trans green windscreens! I guess they still make some in trans bright green but I'm not sure how that would look. Quote
PaddyBricksplitter Posted April 1, 2015 Posted April 1, 2015 Looks nice and old school. I'd like to see a return of the Space Police. Quote
Orange Leader Posted April 4, 2015 Author Posted April 4, 2015 Cool retro design there 'Orange Leader'.......Brick On ! I like this design! Originally but also retro-modern. Well, It is a remake of a retro set after all! Too bad Lego refuses to make any new trans green windscreens! I guess they still make some in trans bright green but I'm not sure how that would look. True, but I suppose that's a fact we have to live by for now. I just use alternate transparant colours for existing LEGO themes. It might not be very purist to the theme, but I think I should'nt matter. As long the feeling of the theme is captured, I'm pleased. Quote
Lord Vladivus Posted April 4, 2015 Posted April 4, 2015 Awesome! My favourite Space Police set when I was younger! Quote

TheOrcKing Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 I did like the color palettes for Space Police I & II and wondered what it would be like to modernize the builds. This turned out pretty sweet in my opinion. I wouldn't sweat the cockpit windscreen substitution as the build still looks great and besides nothing can be done when the part doesn't exist in the color you want (at least not yet anyway). Too bad Lego refuses to make any new trans green windscreens! I know although considering seeing newer sets with different windscreens in translucent red and light blue plus the return of the large rover wheels not seen since some of the 90s Space sets, there could still be hope for windscreens in translucent green or any other color besides translucent brown or plain clear. Orange Leader Posted April 19, 2015 Author Posted April 19, 2015 (edited) Thanks guys! You're right about the large rover wheels! It's in one Chima set If I recall. Would be cool to see a licensed theme that uses large transparant dark green (or any old school trans. color) in the future, so TLG can't avoid and has to make them. Take a look at Super Heroes sets; The Darkseid and Brainiac set have some windscreens in old school colors: trans. dark blue and trans. neon green. Edited April 19, 2015 by Orange Leader Quote
The Mugbearer Posted April 22, 2015 Posted April 22, 2015 Love the redesign, although I always thought that Revel Hunters has more in length than width. =) Quote
