Tordenskjold Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 Hi Folks. after work today i got a Q from the son of one of those i work with. "what will you do when you are finish'ed with all the lego building.?" good question *sweet* how do i tell that boy that i never get finish? , he dont understand why i buildt. all he se is : build then play, and then get some more sets. :-D but a good question. if i get a LOT of moc's and sets finished (and so good that i dont want to break them up again.)what then? i mean. im 29+1year now and i hope i have many years before me with lego. but i dont have room for all i build. and imagine the value of the orginal sets when im 100 years old hehe. i guess i have to build and extra house for lego only. and perhaps make a sort of wonderland there or donate the whole thing to a good thing. like the hospital or . but what do you do when you are finished with a moc and want to keep it for good? Perhaps confusing of me to write this, just got so charmed by that little boy :) so this is more or less just my thoughts Bj Quote
ZeekyBoogeyDoog Posted August 7, 2007 Posted August 7, 2007 (edited) That's an interesting question. I've never thought about it. I have no idea where I'm going to put all of accumulated my MOCs either; I rarely take them apart. Setting up a little park like the Miniland park in Legoland if you get the money to do the necessary landscaping and such is an option that appeals to me. Perhaps you should look around and realize you are in an international discussion forum. Not everyone speaks English as a first language. Writing Not to be Rude doesn't make it any less rude >:-( Tordenskjold I am also 29 + 1 year :-D and am running out of room for all of my MOCs, storage and new ideas. My solution has been to go through and clean once a month (at least). My "town" which right now consists of a few disconnected buildings and road plates strewn about is littered with abandoned MOCs, custom figs and AquaRaiders sets. So, once a month I go through and re-sort the abandoned MOCs I will never get to. Re-arrange my shelf removing any official sets that I believe have run their course and attempting to connect my city streets. That helps me a lot in keeping my LEGO room organized and moving in the right direction. :-$ *y* Hope this helps! Quote

I work away druing the week which, although bad cuz it keeps me away from my wife and 2 young kids, does have its advantages that not only does it give me free time to enjoy the Lego but also extra space at my week-day place for storage/display. But does add the complication of transporting the creations to/from home for my son to enjoy with at weekends Quote
Tordenskjold Posted August 12, 2007 Author Posted August 12, 2007 i have also two places to live. but for me it is to much work to have lego here and transport things between here and home. now im at work. have a small flat here. and each weekend i drive home. about 120km one way. so i keep all my lego at home. in that case i have something to do in bad weather. that little kid come by today and plyed a bit with my lates set i got. the black sea barracuda. and he couldnt understand why he cant get the ship, when all i do is build it and not play with it :) just love that child *sweet* Quote
