S.I Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 (edited) I have spent the last weekend working on a new GBC/marble module. Currently it mostly works but the ball pickup still needs to be synchronized to stop an occasional jam and I may end up having to reinforce the lift arms to stop oscillations from dumping the balls. link link I'm also not happy with the way the 45 degree angle pieces are connected on the two upper arms, but I couldn't figure out how to create the sqrt(2) offset I would need if I didn't lower them by one again. PS: Is there some way to thumbnail external images? [TIMG] doesn't appear to work. Edited March 18, 2015 by Jim Images way too large Quote
S.I Posted March 18, 2015 Author Posted March 18, 2015 Not yet. Want to figure out why it drops stuff sometimes first. Quote
Jim Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 PS: Is there some way to thumbnail external images? [TIMG] doesn't appear to work. Why don't you use Flickr or Bricksafe? Both allow you to embed smaller images. For now I have removed your images. They are ay too big. Quote

Captainowie Posted March 18, 2015 Posted March 18, 2015 Nice. How well does it handle multiple balls at the input? Also, +1 for the Carcassonne tiles! Quote
S.I Posted March 19, 2015 Author Posted March 19, 2015 Nice. How well does it handle multiple balls at the input? Also, +1 for the Carcassonne tiles! It works ok with multiple balls. Ideally though the ball is released right after the arm passes, because if a ball arrives right when the arm is passing it can block the mechanism. No movie for now since I tried to fix/improve it and now it's broken. Making a small perfectly symmetrical 4 / 6 / 8 arm hub is more difficult than I thought it would be. Quote
S.I Posted March 29, 2015 Author Posted March 29, 2015 Here's version 2, this version is also more reliable.. Quote
