seanspotatobusiness Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Hi. I was hoping someone could advise me how to affix a motor to a base plate as shown in the picture. The problem is that with the motor spindle/shaft in position, the blocks holding the motor no longer line up. Quote
Blakbird Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 You could use one of these Minutebot base plates: Quote
DrJB Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 You could use a combination of and held together by friction pins The bricks would attach to the baseplate, the L-liftarm would attach to the brick, and the motor would attach to the L-liftarms. You could use one of these Minutebot base plates: I just got mine yesterday ... a very promising part indeed. Quote
arik Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Why use the double pinhole 2L brick in the first place (at the rear of the motor), which creates the problem? I think you can safely bend the wire and just use whatever brick you need at the back. Otherwise I think DrJB's solution would be the simplest. Quote
dr_spock Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Couldn't you use a shorter axle and mount the motor directly to your wall of Technic bricks with a couple pins? Quote
DrJB Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 You could use one of these Minutebot base plates: Is that something you built? What is it? Quote
Saberwing40k Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 I think all you need is a stack of 3 1x4 Technic bricks, attached to the two pin holes on the end of the L motor. if you fold up the cable, you can do that. Quote
Blakbird Posted February 11, 2015 Posted February 11, 2015 Is that something you built? What is it? No, that's just a picture from their web site. Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 Guys you need to remember that Blakbrid is not a moc builder, but jest a set/moc assembler. I have said this before. Quote
SNIPE Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 (edited) Here is my take if you want a shallow design with little clearance between the plate and the motor: It is not as strong as other designs but may be just strong enough for the pupose and is fairly simple. One is offset by a half stud and one lines up with the studs. The red wall is where your technic studded beams would be. Regards, Snipe Edited February 12, 2015 by SNIPE Quote

Yes, you have said this a lot but I'm not sure what the point is. Are you saying that it is not possible for me to have good building ideas because I don't present MOCs on Eurobricks? Quote
