Herky Posted February 5, 2015 Posted February 5, 2015 Appreciate that Rick wants us to talk about the 2 new sets in the licensed forum, but then you get into cross informational...sure the 2 new ones are licensed properties but the previous Birds was not. So either Lego Ideas needs to find a home, which I thought was here in Special Themes, or move to a new overall Theme, who knows, let them figure it out. So to move past the new offerings and get back to discussion, interested to hear thoughts on what AFOL's think about the process that TLG uses to determine what they will make? I get the rules are clear on what can be offered, but I guess I am still confused why only 1 set gets made out of the submissions. When you have people get 10K votes, and then 8 make it, that's easy math, 80K people would like to see those sets made. I am not sure what TLG's cutoff is but we know they have made sets with a ceiling of 10K pieces before such as the Billund Airport, Marina Bay Sands and I think there is one other. I believe the first Lego Cuusoo was a set amount of 10K sets as well. I get they have a helicarrier coming out already, and others, it just seems if you get the votes, it is unlikely that unless your piece count is small, you will never have a chance to have your creation see the light of day. The new Pleyworld concept is very intriguing, I think that is really the wave of the future if you want to get your project made into a real set. Any thoughts?

So either Lego Ideas needs to find a home, which I thought was here in Special Themes, or move to a new overall Theme, who knows, let them figure it out. We have made the decision to stick every individual Ideas sets into the appropriate theme forum depending on the subject matter and/or license. As such the Ideas "theme" has no permanent home in any of the theme forums. http://www.eurobrick...50#entry2131303 I'm going to have to direct you to what has become the general discussion thread about the LEGO Ideas "process" in the Embassy forum. I'm afraid that simply moving your post to this thread will cause confusion, so feel to post your opinion again in the thread that Super Goblin linked to. I'm sorry that I have to lock another thread, but we're trying to avoid having multiple threads discussing the same issue. Thanks (again).
