x105Black Posted December 5, 2015 Posted December 5, 2015 I may be wrong on this, but wasn't the new shield tile piece also spotted in the new Modular Bank? So there should be unprinted versions out there. I mentioned that one. Quite an expensive set. I wouldn't have expected you to care about the shields with the Nexo Powers anyway, since those are all transparent — not very useful in medieval MOCs unless you want to lean heavy on the fantasy side of the equation. Some of the other shields that are used merely as decoration might still be stickered. The black one on Jestro's Evil Mobile definitely is in the box pic, as are the blue one on the box of Merlok's Library and the black one on the box of Infernox Captures the Queen. That's not 100% confirmation they won't be stickered in the final set, but it's possible. I assumed that the Nexo Powers being printed meant all of the (non-transparent) Nexo Knights shield pieces would be printed as well. I'd like to be proven wrong. Actually, I just noticed that there seems to be an unprinted shield in the Knight's Cycle polybag. Looks to be either Dark Stone Grey or Silver Metallic, both nice basic colors for a wide variety of themes. Would that suit your purposes? If not, then as I mentioned earlier, removing prints is not that hard and AFOLs have been doing it for a long time. EDIT: Almost forgot about the unprinted black one from the new Batman v. Superman set with the Batmobile. It seems like this part will see wide use, which makes sense given its versatility. That would be great, as long as it isn't too costly to get the polybag or Batmobile. And I'm a bit too much of a purist to remove prints, personally, but I do appreciate the tip. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 The new shield piece also comes in the new Brick Bank modular that will be released in January. From what I've seen you get a couple and they are all unprinted. But the downside is that it is an expensive set. Quote

Lyichir Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 To me, it looks like Gunmetal Grey, which is imo even cooler than Silver Metallic. Oh man, I didn't think about that. That's definitely a possibility. Either way it's a nice, neutral color that'd be great for all sorts of themes. Quote
CM4Sci Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Where's the weekend Nexo Knights review on Brickset? Quote
TheLazyChicken Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Glad the shields are printed. Might consider collecting some! Quote
BrickJagger Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 Where's the weekend Nexo Knights review on Brickset? Lego probably told him not to post it. They seem to be doing everything in their power to keep this line off of the shelves until January, and it's starting to get really irritating. Quote

I don't see why they would ask the review to be postponed. It has no effect on the release date of the sets. Quote

For the same reasons they asked all of the people who owned TFA sets not to review them until September 4th. It seems to be a release date thing. Edited December 6, 2015 by BrickJagger Quote
Robert8 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Agree. Isn't the review a way to promote the line? I don't get Quote

They seem to be doing everything in their power to keep this line off of the shelves until January, and it's starting to get really irritating. I don't see why they would ask the review to be postponed. It has no effect on the release date of the sets. Given that Brickset are so very sensitive about cooperating with Lego on leaked images, embargo's etc. I have to believe that they would have asked for and received approval from TLG prior to even stating that they had a set (s) to review. I believe that same post mentioned they had sets from other lines to review as well. From what I can tell, they have not done any 2016 set reviews on the site as of today. So, what I think may have happened is that they simply had other things to do this weekend and simply didn't get to the reviews. Or they have reviews from other lines that they are working on before the NK review. Huw is quite good about responding to emails, so if you are curious as to the status of the review, you can always ask him and see what he says. Also, given that Brickset has a partnership with Jangbricks, they may have sent him the set to do a video review for them, which would delay things somewhat due to shipping, etc. If anyone does ask him what's up, I would be curious to know which NK sets he has or if it was just they cycle polybag as a previous poster had suggested. As for TLG trying to keep the sets off the shelves or any news from leaking I can see them trying to do both. It would not surprise me if they have sent a few sets to selected websites, YouTubers for review to generate some hype, but they might have told them to wait until midnight New Years Day to post them. As for the release date, well I still believe that the sets will be available prior to Jan 1st. Either TRU or local independent retailers will break the street date. It seems to always happen. Quote
Exetrius Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 While scrolling through my saved photos, I came across this guy: And I came to the conclusion that he does not come in any of the sets we know of. Could he be the promotioal fig or maybe one for summer 2016? Quote

Could he be the promotioal fig or maybe one for summer 2016? I have to believe that he's in the summer wave. He's only got one part that's different from a regular grunt (The helmet), so maybe he'll show up leading a small troop of knights in Jestro's evil lair, or something. Quote
Amazing Bricks Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 Promotional minifigure for sure. Quote
BrickFit26 Posted December 6, 2015 Posted December 6, 2015 I'm anxious for some video reviews already. Quote

Aanchir Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 Seems doubtful. Where else would Brickset have got a Nexo Knights set if not from Lego? If it's a polybag set it could have just been released early someplace. The release schedules for polybag sets can be fairly unpredictable, and it wouldn't surprise me if some careless employee put them out near the checkout without realizing that the street date for this theme hadn't yet arrived. If this were a set Brickset had gotten direct from LEGO, I would expect it to be bigger than a mere polybag. Quote

That isn't the half of it. My 5 yo wrote his letter to Santa and this is all he wanted. He's over the moon excited for something he can't get for Xmas. My own fault for showing him the teaser site I guess. I still haven't figured out a way to explain to him that elves will be unable to make his toy before January, even though it already exists in his eyes. The joys of parenting. :( Regardless, it's great marketing by Lego, but poorly timed for me. A January media blitz followed by Feb release would have been more helpful. Quote

Shib Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 I still haven't figured out a way to explain to him that elves will be unable to make his toy before January, even though it already exists in his eyes. The joys of parenting. :( Not wanting to derail the thread and possibly too late (depending on the age of your child) but my parents got it right - Father Christmas/Santa bought us a gifts in the stockings, which were all little unbranded things that could be made by an elf (e.g non licensed character teddy, wooden toys, toy cars) and the proper gifts were from them...then there's no need to explain that Elves don't make LEGO because it becomes obvious...LEGO makes LEGO. I notice my local supermarket's LEGO selection is starting to get thinned out in the christmas run up, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some of next years sets starting to creep in in the next couple of weeks depending on what stock they are sent when.
