NXT45 Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 Hm, the large battery box is a little too big... But if you put it on the bed it would work... I mean how does the small BB compare to the large one on this model? (8881) Quote
Pat-Ard Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 in functionality or optics? Sorry, I don't understand your question... Quote
Timtechnic12 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Hi folks, oh yes, as mentioned before, I did some little changes... Selected a color which I don't really like, but hey, it looks good... Changed some small things on the chassis and the color from black to red. And the old wheels looked too small and tiny. The new ones are a little too big, but I think it looks better. Overdid the flatbed. Now only some minor detailling stuff to do... So, enough words... Pictures: Have fun... __________________________ Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Sounds very interesting... Please share some pictures :) I'm going to use the 8110 Unimog set winch and add some lights. Not sure when I will be able to build it in real life but I am building it now in LDraw library using LeoCad. Quote

__________________________ Posted May 4, 2015 Posted May 4, 2015 Sounds good!!! Happy to see some progress... The winch has been determined (it's a compact, 11 piece version of the 8110 Unimog winch), and the gearbox will be this (designed from Trial Truck testing): http://sariel.pl/2011/02/2-speed-heavy-duty-linear-gearbox/I am rebuilding the model in LDD using your high-quality PDF instructions. Thankfully this model is small, so that shouldn't take too long. Quote
Pat-Ard Posted May 6, 2015 Author Posted May 6, 2015 Please post your version here, I 'd like to see it :) Quote

Pat-Ard Posted May 7, 2015 Author Posted May 7, 2015 The rollcage looks funny... But the front axle is a little misplaced... Quote
Imanol BB Posted September 1, 2015 Posted September 1, 2015 (edited) Hi Pat, i saw this truck some time ago and i got impressed how nice it was, and i rebuilt it in LDD, but i thougth, why not to make some changes, and then i did some things, the previous gear ratio of the transmission was not very good for heavy off-roading, so, i changed the gear ratio, its +/- 12.5:1, then i saw the real life unimog and i saw a winch, so i made it too, and i have also added "portal hubs", which gave me the opportunity to improve the steering movement and actually just lifted the truck by 1 stud, and i lowered the whole suspension by 1 stud (so the height is the same, but it has more clearance), but this will only work with custom 8 teeth universal joints from Efferman, i hope you like it: LXF: http://www.brickshel...nimog_u_411.lxf , more pictures at brickshelf.
