The number and diversity of vehicles operated by the Tabletown PD has reached ludicrous proportions - there are about a dozen completely different squad cars rolling around and who knows how many bikes and trikes. It must cost Tabletown PD a small fortune to keep all these different vehicles on the road. AND all the "Police" letterings are totally different - I used to view my PD as an evolving creature, like any regular department, they get new cars in every so often...but this is silly.

Oh, not to mention that my Helicopter transport looks just awful now that the new 6-stud width trucks are being introduced.

And it must be quite unnerving for the residents - I mean, how do they know they are getting pulled over by a real Cop when all the vehicles are so different?

So I've decided to rationalise the department - order in a whole new load of vehicles from the current S@H range and "retire" all the older vehicles.

I reckon four squad cars, four bikes and two vans should do it - the helicopters can stay in the air and with all the old vehicles being retired, the number of foot patrols will increase by an awful lot.

The only problem will be in restraining myself from buying any new Police cars in the future.

Reckon I can do it? :-D :-D

how about you turnsomeof them into comminuty service or traffic Enforcment vehicles. Or secuity? They could be sold to the local park and recreation center for security purposes for just that. Or half could be city police, and the other half highway partol. Just an idea. You can never have enough police. Wheni finnally get mine toeghter (i'll probbly be getting the new police station) i'll be getting at least 6 patrol cars, 2 off road units, 1 helicopter, 1mobile command trailer or RV (undecided) and a cuminity service truck with a radar trailer (the little trailers that tel you how fast your going). 08 should be a fun year!

I do have three sort of speedy-looking pursuit cars that I guess I could keep for traffic enforcement, but the other cars are not nearly as nice.

I could convert a couple of them to act as security for my football stadium - I am also of the view that you can't have enough Police, but their equipment needs to be standardised in my view.

I'm tempted to pick up the station that's on sale right now - but I know there's another new one coming out, the only thing is that the current station has the same Police logo as the vehicles I want to stock up on - small point I know, but I'm all for uniformity right now.

Maybe you should paint them yellow and sell them to taxi drivers like they do in Chicago. X-D

Wow - is that what they really do?

I didn't see anything other than the airport when I stopped off at Chicago - although I did fly over that rather nice enormous black skyscraper.

Not intirely. Some taxi companies buy retired police cruisers, but most buy new taxis. There outfitted simular as Poilce Crown vic interceptors though.

I here waht tyou mean about being uniformed. Iagree 100 percent. Thats why i siad you could use the ones that are differnt as highway patorl of evn the sherrif cars. I can't wait to see what the new polics sstation looks like! If i don't like then i'll just pick up the current one from Bricklink.

I suggest wait to the New Police line next year then retire all older vehicles :-)

I hope the new PD is just as awesome as the fire station we got this year :'-)

I don't think you can have enough police to keep those bad minifigs in line.

Though I think it may be time for some of the older cars to retire =P

The Sears Tower, most likely. Although it could've been the John Hancock, but lovely probably describes the Sears Tower more. I love the skyline here and I love the lake! We've had some real rough currents the last couple of days and my dogs love to play in the waves...

Here's a pic of my dog Riley getting surprised by a wave!

The airport's very congested but you should try to get into the city sometime. The parks are lovely. You can take a boat tour of the city's architecture up the lake and down the river! *sweet*

Anyway, back on topic. Yes, the police cars are sold to cab companies and independent cab drivers. In Chicago some drivers own their own cabs and dispatch through a company for points. That would be clever to convert your old police cruisers to taxis... X-D

I would love to have stopped off, but I was transferring to St Louis from London - I live in the UK, and that's the only time I've ever visited the US. :-(
