Siegfried Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 More mini-fig suffering! Is this a sign of depression over Brickshelf, or has it always been like this?! Quote
Tanotrooper Posted July 18, 2007 Author Posted July 18, 2007 More mini-fig suffering! Is this a sign of depression over Brickshelf, or has it always been like this?! well, the conquistadores did kill and slaved thousands of tribes in America... TT Quote
Asuka Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 That leather armor looks pretty nice, like all of your MFs.... *y* Where did it come from? Quote
Siegfried Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 well, the conquistadores did kill and slaved thousands of tribes in America... Oh, so it's their fault now! And I suppose you claim you didn't enjoy it either, I bet. (I am joking.) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 18, 2007 Governor Posted July 18, 2007 I didn't realise the mighty Spanish Inquistion wore top hats! Quote

Fordo Posted July 18, 2007 Posted July 18, 2007 Your figures definately represent those figures nicely great job on the moc. I like how you used a variety of torso's especially the Knight armor. Quote

Ah yes, come to think of it those hats do look familiar. I'm wondering though, did you not use Imperial Armada mini-figures because you didn't have any or biggest you wanted to create your own version of the Spanish? Quote

Well, I dont have any real imperial armada minifigs (except the one (x2) from that little set with a skeleton on a small island), but I do have 4 helmets. I always prefer historical correct over stereotype. I got inspired from the post on the general pirates forum about pirate parts in non-pirate sets (the torso from knights kingdom for conquistadores). The very special thing about this period, is that there is a "change" going on in the armies. With the gunpowder being introduced, yet its still inaccurate. I'll post more pics when I got some new stuff. Gaetano TT Quote
zouave Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 These look great. Although I thought this was US colonial troops moc. X-D Quote
Timento Posted July 20, 2007 Posted July 20, 2007 It's a nice little MOC *y* I always wanted to make something like that myself, but sadly I don't have any Imperial Armada helmets :-| I would just like to say something for the historical part, though... You probably know that Aztec 'knights' were Jaguar and Eagle warriors. They did not have hats like that nor did the ordinary warriors. And because LEGO didn't make a Jaguar or Eagle masks, I would have used this hair: Otherwise, it's *y* *y* *y* Quote

For the jaguar, I'm going to make a black jaguar costume, using the cat woman mask. TT Quote
Capn Frank Posted July 22, 2007 Posted July 22, 2007 ...these are my reference. The leather armour is the ever useful jar jar binks torso. ... I've used both gungan torsos for oriental sailors and it seems to work out nicely too *y* You seem to have a lot more gungans than i do though X-D Added this MOC to the Land Based MOCs Index P Quote
