Sariel Posted January 12, 2015 Posted January 12, 2015 Long story short, the array of Ken Block's vehicles never caught my eye until he got his insane '65 AWD Ford Mustang. I just had to try to build it and to drive it in a place it deserves: Plenty of pics and some reading: http://sariel.pl/2015/01/mustang-gymkhana/ Quote
madjelly Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) Since first time I seen Hoonicorn, I was wondering if someone will give it LEGO makeover. And here it is. Amazing! Edited January 13, 2015 by madjelly Quote
falconluan Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Great video as always dude Wish I had some RC parts ... Recently, I built a motorized 8041/42041, using 2 PF L motors, 62.4mm truck tires, and it's RWD. I tried to make it driftable although I know it's almost impossible due to the limited power. The result is, it can only "drift" about 90 degrees when suddenly reverse the motor direction and steering to one side simultaneously. According to the test, the power of a L motor is about half of a RC motor, so I wonder whether a 4 L motor car with 2 battery boxes can have some better performance. Quote
XAxles Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) No way, my liege. I love it. I seriously thought the wheel arches are made of paper the first time I saw it, though. What a technique to make 'em. Edited January 13, 2015 by XAxles Quote
piterx Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 lol you kinda beated me on time :D my version is gonna be smaller if it will ever come out... good stuff tho! Quote
filsawgood Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Great work!I thought, who is the first to build a copy of the new vehicle Ken Block. It was you! Well done! Quote
PKW Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 (edited) drinfing With lego is not impossible And also isn't hard for a lack of Power But To drift with that kind of cars is needed a really short steering range and a 4x4 with buggy motors, ackermann steering and sbrick proportional controls could make The difference, however lego plastic has too grip for drifting with at this speed, with some tryes with an external esc and servo I succes to make an 8 figure with a small chassis Edited January 13, 2015 by PKW Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Great model, great builder, great driver and a least great video  Quote
Balrog Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Pretty awesome. Though, a manual display model might be interesting as well. Quote
Jim Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 Do you ever sleep?! Great model and a great video! Nice venue indeed. Perfect for your video. Quote
Meatman Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 The decal work is just as impressive as the model itself. What part did you use for the front fenders? Quote
Sariel Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Thanks, I only wish I could have decals printed on foil, not paper. I guess you mean that piece: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=61071 Quote

Epic Technic Posted January 13, 2015 Posted January 13, 2015 No, I meant the pieces above the front wheels. Ah yes I was also wondering if it was a single piece for the front wheel arches? Quote
Sariel Posted January 13, 2015 Author Posted January 13, 2015 Oh, you mean mudguards. It's the good old large brick arch plus some bricks that keep it connected to the bonnet: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=6060 Quote
DamonMM2000 Posted January 17, 2015 Posted January 17, 2015 As always, awesome job! I love your creations. Quote
