Legogal Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I just noticed this 2014 employee gift set 4002014 on Brickset. The photo of the box looks terrific. Has anyone built one, and what do you think of it? Prices are high at this point in early January at 200US available from US shippers and at 178US on Bricklink, but not available in the US. So we may have to Bricklink this one, all 487 pieces. Ugh! Quote
MAB Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 They are beautiful aren't they? I'm hoping the accidently release the instructions at some stage. Quote
tafkatb Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I have it but haven't built it yet. I'm hoping I'll have time in the near future to post some pictures. Quote
DuckBricks Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I'll post a review as soon as I build it, sorry, but some other sets took priority this winter... Quote
Legogal Posted January 5, 2015 Author Posted January 5, 2015 Thanks, Guys! Photos and the instructions would be wonderful. What a cool looking set! Birds surely are in this month! And I do love all kinds of birds except for the flocks of Canadian geese that love to walk across our hilly, curved freeway entrances and every street in town. Will be the death of all of us at this rate. Have you ever tried avoiding a flock of geese you can't see while driving 60mph? Not a fun time for sure. I guess that is what airbags are for... Quote
JGW3000 Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 Have you ever tried avoiding a flock of geese you can't see while driving 60mph? Not a fun time for sure. I guess that is what airbags are for... OT: but I frequently run into flocks of wild turkeys when driving the back roads of CT - imagine 100's of stupid birds to dumb to get out of the road - wild turkeys are supposed to be smart, go figure. And today, of all things, I got hit by a tumbleweed, in Connecticut!!! Back on topic, would also like to see instructions, thanks in advance when you get time to post, Legozebra. Quote
Legogal Posted January 6, 2015 Author Posted January 6, 2015 OT: Hahaha! Growing up in Pecos, Texas, the spring wind last about 4 months and could blow tumbleweeds 30-40 feet high completely over the top of your house so thick that it was hard to open the doors. What a mess! I cannot believe that you got hit by a tumbleweed in CT! Just finished the new Birds set that the rest of us can buy, and it is beyond outstanding the way the birds can be posed. Wow! I certainly hope that they make more bird sets. Will be interesting to see the details of the employee gift bird set....what a very cool idea! We love sets based on nature. The flower in the current birds set is outrageously beautiful. Build it if you have it! Quote
JGW3000 Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 My Ideas bird set is on order, waiting for some other backordered items to become available before being shipped, can't wait to get it. The first time I saw a tumbleweed was out past Amarillo, heading to New Mexico, years ago. Quote
Herky Posted January 6, 2015 Posted January 6, 2015 After building the Ideas birds, I agree, I would like to pick up that Hub birds set to add 5 more, I am not sure they are the same scale, but that is one thing I was looking to find out. I think Birds might have been the best set put out on Jan 1 or maybe a tie with Slave I. I have been watching the Hub Birds on ebay every day and just missed out on one last week. I wish TLG would produce that 400XXXX series for everyone, even the factory sets are really cool. Quote
