bitbang Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I love stand up comedy but I feel like the comics I am used to have gone stale and I would love to find some new ones. I would love some recommendations from anyone who also enjoys stand up. Quote
Vindicare Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 I don't listen to a whole lot of the genre, but I stumbled across Kyle Cease years ago. I heard his bit about NES and checked him out. No idea if he's around still... Quote
Gremer Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 (edited) Jim Gaffigan and Tim Hawkins are two of my favorites, though I'm not huge on stand-up comedy as a whole. Edit: They're both completely clean. Edited January 5, 2015 by Gremer Quote
Zilcho Posted January 1, 2015 Posted January 1, 2015 Stewart Lee is my favourite comedian. He does a lot of satire if you like that. Eddie Izzard comes very close second. Death state canteen is brilliant! Quote
bitbang Posted January 2, 2015 Author Posted January 2, 2015 Thanks for your suggestions. I will check out the ones I don't know. Quote
def Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 John Mulaney kills me. His comedy albums are great. John Mulaney - The One Thing You Can't Replace - YouTube I enjoy Amy Schumer and Jim Jefferies as well. Quote
Steph 104th Posted January 4, 2015 Posted January 4, 2015 (edited) Trevor Noah, is quite entertaining, he's been performing in the states recently. Edited January 4, 2015 by Steph 104th Quote
Artanis I Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 (edited) I don't like the vulgar stuff, but it seems like most comedians think it's a gold mine. Good & clean stand-up is rare. I liked Bill Cosby. Sorry, I don't really have a suggestion! Edited January 5, 2015 by Artanis I Quote
Steph 104th Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I don't like the vulgar stuff, but it seems like most comedians think it's a gold mine. I agree with this whole heartedly, it makes it very hard to find decent comedians. Quote
Robianco Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I liked Eddie Izzard when I first listened to his cassettes around 18 years ago... I went to see him live a couple of years ago and barely raised a smile. I think Milton Jones is hilarious... his deadpan delivery is fantastic when coupled with his dry one-liners. I think Tim Vine is really funny too... he's famous for his one liners and he rattles off so many than some are misses but there are so many hits. These three are mostly clean language... they don't really on vulgarity anyway. Jim Jefferies rant on gun control is fantastic... and hilarious.... but the language may not be for some. I'm not that bothered personally but some might be. Dara O'Briain is very clever with his stand up routine and I've always found him funny. Frankie Boyle will easily offend some.... his material can be ridiculously offensive... but I actually think it's also very funny. Quote
Tariq j Posted January 5, 2015 Posted January 5, 2015 I like Harry Hill, Dara O'Briain and Michael McIntyre. Quote
legonerd54321 Posted January 18, 2015 Posted January 18, 2015 Mine are Tim Hawkins (Clean) and Jeff Dunham (Not clean) Quote
