GSD Jerrys Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 Hello, this is my first post. It is a steam train. I wasn't sure what to do with the pistons so please give me some advise. Quote
Murdoch17 Posted December 22, 2014 Posted December 22, 2014 I think it looks nice, though the tender might need some work to go around curves. You could use a "floating" middle axle for the tender, like in this model of a GWR Hall class. (LDD file: http://www.mocpages.com/user_images/80135/1411054082m.lxf ) Quote
GSD Jerrys Posted December 22, 2014 Author Posted December 22, 2014 Thanks for the help. This should improve my train Quote
GSD Jerrys Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Does anyone have an idea on pistons Quote
Paperballpark Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 No, sorry. It's hard to tell with just one image, but I imagine they'd be hard to do, as your front pony truck would probably bash into them when going around corners. You'd need to find a way of making it so that the front axle cleared it, but it looks a bit too tight to do that. Quote
GSD Jerrys Posted December 23, 2014 Author Posted December 23, 2014 Sorry about the picture quality but I'm having problems uploading Quote
detjensrobert Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Dont use the eurobricks uploader use a photo sharing site such as Flickr to host the images then deeplink them into your post. Quote
jtlan Posted December 24, 2014 Posted December 24, 2014 First, I'd suggest turning on "Outlines on bricks" under LDD's options -- it's a better representation of what the model will look like in real life, as it properly renders the gaps between bricks. In addition, it'll be easier for the rest of us to figure out what's going on in the picture (particularly areas with a lot of dark pieces). Second, I'm guessing from the "5" on the tender (in conjunction with various other features) that this is a model of James from The Railway Series? If so, there's an easy solution to your problem -- James has inside cylinders. Quote
