Piranha Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 I think the 1st one looks alot better - sorry guys. This is way to much like the preview picture |-/! Hopefully LEGO releases a version without the motor so we can get a couple to MOC with. Still it Quote
The Kid Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Sorry, didn't see it walking; everyone was very busy setting up the stands ready for tomorrow, so there wasn't really time to have a good look at it. Not great photos, but I hope you enjoy them.http://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-moose/791271550/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/blue-moose/791273290/ Ian The first photo makes it look REALLY skinny. :-/ TK Quote
Asuka Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 The first photo makes it look REALLY skinny. :-/TK Interesting pictures, thanks. Guess it looks a little thinner because of the wide-angle lens too. Not that bad for me.... Although I really wonder where the hump Quote
Siegfried Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 The first photo makes it look REALLY skinny. :-/ Indeed. After those photos I am not sure if I want it now... Quote
Grand Moff Viceroy Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Have you ever heard of a set being expanded from late prototype to production? I have only heard of cuts, for example the Bat Tank was savagely cut back so it met the correct price point. Personally I hope it stays as it is; I would rather it be a tad cheaper and have less men. Indeed, the prototype had an entire base and everything was zoomed out. Hmmm this makes me think back to the Clone Turbo TankIt came with a Lightup Mace windu but then a year later the second version had a non light up mace and an extra Clone trooper However I doubt they will release a nonwalking version *sad* Piranha In case you haven't noticed, a LOT of sets this year has motors and electrical shtuff because of mindstroms and that. Even bionicle might have those in the future, so definitely not. Wow.... 8- Quote
The Executive Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I don't think TLC intended to make the new AT-AT an improvement over the original, but more of a way to sell the beast with walking features and minifigures. The walking features took away some accuracy and thats why it doesn't look as good as the first one, it's either one or the other. The only good thing I like about it is the new head which looks sturdier than the original. I'll have to pass on this set considering I hated the dark side developer kit and the original was near perfect. Now I regret taking apart my original AT-AT *sing* . Quote
Darth_Legois Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Hyperspace ring, for example, is a rip-off. Tell me about it *n* sometimes the prices suck here in Australia maybe it was because of the kit fist mini-fig :-| i doubt it though Quote
Ras 74 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I will definatley get one of those. I still like the "head" and the feets of it. And I Quote
CopMike Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 After seeing the pictures - >:-(! A size ZERO AT-AT! I will give mine a lot of donughts to try to get some pork on those skinny legs X-D! And don Quote
Grand Moff Viceroy Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I am completely satisfied with the at-at. It will be a fine addition to the republic/imperial army. Quote
dillthepill Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Look what I found on S@H's cache X-D :'-) I admit, Star Wars never appealed to me, but this year TLC did so good, I may have to buy a few, and this is one of them. Totally reminds me of Episode V, great details. :'-) Quote
sam89 Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Some more pics: http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Dr01d3k4...ing_at-at_1.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Dr01d3k4...ing_at-at_2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Dr01d3k4...ing_at-at_3.jpg The wrong minifig is in the cockpit, they obviously don't have the bley AT-AT Pilot ready yet. General Veers doesn't seem to have any new pieces. Quote
sam89 Posted July 13, 2007 Author Posted July 13, 2007 Well I guess so, perhaps it's just a generic pilot. Quote
Ickelpete Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 I've never been a fan of Star Wars Lego but if the price is right this could be My first Purchase. I wish I was going to the Star Wars event now :-( Quote
Starwars4J Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Ah, so I was right, that isn't Veers. I guess a custom head was too much to ask for *sad* Quote
mutley777 Posted July 13, 2007 Posted July 13, 2007 Ah, so I was right, that isn't Veers. I guess a custom head was too much to ask for *sad* Well seeing as it is a clone pilot in front i am hoping they did not have the right minifig for veers :-) Quote
Siegfried Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 Some more pics: Thanks for finding the bonus pics. The cockpit is a bit dissapointing, but I think my hopes were too high! I am still awaiting better pics of the inside of the body... Quote
xwingyoda Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Dr01d3k4...ing_at-at_1.jpghttp://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Dr01d3k4...ing_at-at_2.jpg http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/Dr01d3k4...ing_at-at_3.jpg Tks Sam for the pics ;-) The cokpit looks better than I thought, it more detailed and its cool that it can display the figs like that ;-) Sure its not wide enough to seat 2 drivers :-/ BUT its better than planned !! Tha AT-AT itself looks better in "walking position" and TLC (from those pics) did a good job hiding the Technics parts on the body ;-) And I'm sure its not Veers :-( Its definitly the AT-ST driver with the same printed head !! Our only hope is that the pic of the box we saw is the preliminary one (which is very doubtfull though). Too bad though, I would love to have more of the Imperial senior officers ;-) *yoda* Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 GAH! Its..hideous! of all the cheap ploys to get the price higher...motorized? I don't want that! I want it big, with 5 stormies, maybe even 10! TLC, what are you thinking? Quote

Too bad though, I would love to have more of the Imperial senior officers ;-) *yoda* Exactly my opinion, xwingyoda! TLG did a very good job with this new AT-AT. It's very nice that it can walk motorized. I hope that it will really cost 140 Euros and not more - that would be a very good price-performance ratio. But the imperial ??? minifig would be a cheap trick of Lego if it will be as we've seen on the last photos because there has never been an AT-ST Driver in an AT-AT! Like xwingyoda I hope they'll change this minifig and make a General Veers out of it until TLC releases that set. More senior officers would be absolutely necessary, I agree. Generally more different and new minifigs would be necessary. But I've got the impression that TLG goes into the right direction. Quote
Grand Moff Viceroy Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 I saw the interior of the at-at. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=266025 Go here to see all of the pics. Why a clone pilot? Quote
