DrJB Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) The only time I've been lucky with the PAB was few weeks ago when the Schaumburg (outside Chicago) store had the large technic turntable in their PAB. I got 7 of them (could not fit more in the large cup, and then filled the gaps with 'useless' small parts. Not sure why but, and especially lately, the PAB is full of the smallest of lego parts and things such as the small flowers and the tiniest of wheels/tires (smaller than those of CITY). Sometimes I get the feeling that whatever does not sell, makes its way to the PAB. How about YOUR location, are technic parts a common showing or a real rarity? The only other source of technic parts was the grab bags (especially after they dismantled their display models) but that is now long gone Edited November 29, 2014 by DrJB Quote
vliet Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 (edited) I have never seen any technic parts in a PAB as you wrote lots of small parts in strange colors like purple and pink. Last week I was in the Lego store in Essen, Germany the week before in Antwerp, Belgium. PAB's are pretty much the same in my opinion. Edited November 29, 2014 by vliet Quote
Mikuri Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Never heard of any technic parts other than the turntables. I wish they had at least 3-4 on the upper part of the wall for AFOLs :( Quote
Alasdair Ryan Posted November 29, 2014 Posted November 29, 2014 Never heard of any technic parts other than the turntables. I wish they had at least 3-4 on the upper part of the wall for AFOLs :( Yes but then only the 'tall' AFOLS could reach them. Quote

aeh5040 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Quite a few years ago there were white 1x16 technic bricks (in USA). I think I managed to get 30-40 in a cup - wish I'd got more now! Quote
dr_spock Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I picked up some technic turntables a while back ago too. Not much technic lately. I vaguely recall seeing some 2x4 bricks with technic pins (for attaching wheels). I do find the other parts on the PAB useful for building stuff for the LEGO Store Community/LUG display. Never heard of any technic parts other than the turntables. I wish they had at least 3-4 on the upper part of the wall for AFOLs :( That's too high. Maybe it is easy for you with your electric fork lift to reach. Quote

Corvette3 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I've never seen a PAB wall, though i guess Australia does not have any stores that would have them. Quote
Technyk32231 Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 Where I am, in Maryland, USA, there are two lego stores. I've been to both, and never seen any technic parts in a PAB wall. I've never seen a PAB wall, though i guess Australia does not have any stores that would have them. You know, the wall behind the counter that has all the circular bins of parts... at least thats how it is where I am... Quote
bonox Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 You know, the wall behind the counter that has all the circular bins of parts... at least thats how it is where I am... we don't have lego retailers here like you do, only shops carrying lego as one of many product lines, which means boxes on shelves and nothing else. I have to go to copenhagen to find my first one. Wow, that was a drag. Quote
I_Got_The_Last_Set Posted November 30, 2014 Posted November 30, 2014 I got three technic turntables from the Lego Store Tyson Corner at Mclean, VA , USA but that was last year around this time. I think it could be one of these two reasons: 1: The store manager requested the brick part with the part number simliar to the technic turntables 2: The warehouse read the wrong part number and sent the technic turntables General speaking, the PAB is not for Technic parts. If you do find something interesting, technic or not, grab and have fun. Quote
NorthernRPG Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 They recently opened a store near me and I heard that they sold PF there. They didn't have much there because it had all sold out but I managed to get an XL motor. My friend was there to and together we had spent enough money to get a free pick a brick cup. I went to look at the bricks and not a single one was technic. Quote
fred67 Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 I've only seen the turntables from technic... I grabbed a few myself at that time, but it was a long time (years) ago. As far as PF stuff goes, they used to let you order stuff from S@H while at the store, and shipping would be free. I don't know if they still do that with their constant free shipping for orders over $75. Quote
paul_delahaye Posted December 1, 2014 Posted December 1, 2014 Many years ago I got a load of old style pneumatic cylinders and pumps out of the Bluewater Store pick a brick, I suspect they got them from some of the old Mindstorms add on sets, and they had broken them up, but that was a totally one off find.
