Poomerio Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Hi there. I'm hopefully getting the Lego Firestation 7945. So what do you guys think of it? Thanks, - Poomie Quote
Darth_Legois Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 This is just my 5 cents (the lowest cent coin we have in Australia is 5 cents we used to have a one cent but that was years ago) Anyway i personaly think it looks great its no.1 on my to-get-list now since i lay-byed the Police Station last month *wub* + it has 2 computers,a brush(lol),blue d-basket,another computer like panel,a skinnier panel, flowers 1 tree,trans-clear cup,pushbroom,2 yellow cups & 4 fire fighters heres the list of all the pieces @ bricklink http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=7945-1 So i think its pretty good better than the latest hospital :-P Quote
Poomerio Posted July 7, 2007 Author Posted July 7, 2007 I never did like the hospital set. But thanks for that Legois :-) I'll go and buy it tomorrow morning. - Poomie Quote

UniqueBuilder Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 The 7945 is a great set IMO. Mostly because of the sweet roller doors and some really good parts. The only downside is that this set only have one ladder piece, and no compartment doors for the trucks unlike the 7239. That's a big downside, but I guess that's just my opinion. :-/ Welcome to EB btw. :-) Quote
Siegfried Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Welcome the Eurobricks! My advice is get it. I considered buying it recently, largely for the roller doors, but I ended up buying the Aquabase set instead as I wanted the Slave 1 cockpit pieces and the squid. I am still considering buying it though... Quote
Poomerio Posted July 8, 2007 Author Posted July 8, 2007 Thanks guys :-) I'm going with my parents into the shopping centre, where I will pick it up from there. - Poomie Quote
Poomerio Posted July 8, 2007 Author Posted July 8, 2007 Just got home, with some bad news. All the stores were fresh out of Lego. So I've just ordered it from the Lego site, and it should be here next week :-) - Poomie Quote
Siegfried Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I don't really live near any Lego Stores (nearest one is an hours drive away.) Consider yourself lucky; the nearest Lego store for me is several hours away.... in a plane! :-( Quote
Darth_Legois Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Where do you live sinner? that sucks. All the kmarts BigWs & TRU's around me have atleast 1-2 of the 7945 Quote

I was referring to Lego stores., which to my knowledge don't exist in Australia.... or am I wrong. There actually are severals stores with 7945 in my area. I live in Hobart, where annoyingly there are no TRU stores at all. Quote
marvinblue Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Hi there! Welcome onboard! My opinion is to get it! I really like it! Lego are getting back to their roots with this kit. I think one of the big pluses is the way all the building modules link together with technic pins. This makes it really easy to MOC some extra engine bays to accommodate the other vehicles in the Fire set. I also like the computers in the office and watchroom! Quote
Darth_Legois Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I didnt think there where any lego store here either,im suprised i though Hobart would have a tru atleast *n* Quote
Poomerio Posted July 11, 2007 Author Posted July 11, 2007 Small update guys; today I got an email from LEGO. They shipped the set this morning, and it will be here Tuesday at the latest ^^ - Poomie Quote
MatthewUSA Posted July 11, 2007 Posted July 11, 2007 I haven't bought this set yet either. I am very, very :-) to see TLC bring back the garage doors. I definitly *wub* the hydraulic boom mechanism too. I am certainly considering this set for the nice pieces. Quote

But the one I am getting is just going in my Town :) - Poomie Quote
Poomerio Posted July 12, 2007 Author Posted July 12, 2007 Great news; my LEGO turned up =) It arrived in a big brown box. It was bigger than I expected; though it didn't take long to build. I will posts pictures as soon as it becomes lighter. - Poomie Quote
