jamie75 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Oops, I thought I posted this a few days after my MTV-7. Sorry! Anyways, here goes. The PDT-8 Personnel Deployment Transport was a small two-man vehicle used by the Rebel Alliance. It had two open spaces that could be used to transport people or cargo. It featured two large jet thrusters at the side and also had two small blaster cannons. The Rebel Alliance utilized several of these weapons during the Battle of Hoth in 3 ABY during the Galactic Civil War. Like with my other Mini-Rigs, I took the idea and made it a little practical, IMO. Having a transport for 2 droids, doesn't do alot on battle. So I made it a little larger, while still trying to keep the shape of the original. Also, scale is something that doesn't translate well from Kenner figure to Lego very well. So, it is probably pretty close to "scale" giving the difference in figures?! The troops can be let out of the rear, guns ready to under the ramp. But, like my MTV-7, I did make a smaller, more accurate model. One that is more in line with the original. Hope you guys like it. I will be building this and the other Mini-Rigs I did early next year. This model has 211 pieces. Thanks for looking, Jamie 11 - EU - Mini-Rig- PDT8 - Personnel Deployment Transport.lxf Quote
WarSquirrel Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Wow! I enjoy seeing all of your mini rigs and they get better and better I like how you made two models but I prefer the bigger one. Great job Quote
BobThePom Posted November 18, 2014 Posted November 18, 2014 Well done, I like it, it certainly looks fit for the environment! Quote
jamie75 Posted November 19, 2014 Author Posted November 19, 2014 Thanks guys, I can't wait to get them build in real bricks!! And, yes, I think this will fit in nicely with my Hoth sets. Thanks again, Jamie Quote
el_jugador Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 (edited) Here is the one I made. I started with the Jamie's big one, but then I made it a little mit smaller. What is also important, the jet engine can rotate. I hope you like it. If so, I have it in lxf. Best regards, Chris PS: Please upload the lxf file of the small version. GuyDudeMan27 Posted March 16, 2015 Posted March 16, 2015 Looks good. The size is a good trade off between big and small. Quote
jamie75 Posted March 17, 2015 Author Posted March 17, 2015 Glad someone has the time to build these. Work sucks and it's only getting worse. Not the job, but being away from home. Anyways, I like it. Hopefully one day I will get these. You said you built it smaller, where I couldn't see it. Jamie Quote
el_jugador Posted March 17, 2015 Posted March 17, 2015 You said you built it smaller, where I couldn't see it. Thanks for your comments! Yes, basically it's a little bit shorter (just space for one man sitting in the front and not so high because I eliminated one brickheight (see the figure standing). Last but not least, the feet are fixed more in the inside, so they don't fall down so easily. Here some more picture of the lastest version: The next one I'd like to try is these ones, but I haven't found any lxf. file yet... http://flickrhivemind.net/Tags/int4,rigs/Interesting Quote
