Vorkosigan Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 My goal was to create a folding building with detailed interior. Ultimately I ended up putting a hinged roof on as well so there are two ways to access the interior. Making everything come together at the joint was a fun challenge. I envision this hall as a structure inside a much larger castle. Quote
Blakstone Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 This is an excellent build. I like the dual approach to open the building, but my favorite part is that the connecting pin is above the double doors. I have considered building a mead hall in a similar manner and I might appropriate your connector approach. My biggest hold up is the lack of color variation but you solved that with a stone building. Great job. Quote
Vorkosigan Posted November 6, 2014 Author Posted November 6, 2014 Thanks! One thing I'd think about doing differently is maybe making the front and rear walls two studs thick. It can be difficult to open and close without having to fix something. Quote
Blakstone Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 You could do that or you could change the base plate out for a thicker base like my barrow downs. Quote
LeChevalier Posted November 8, 2014 Posted November 8, 2014 I like pretty much the way you have used the spider web from 70403! Obivously, vacuum cleaners didn't exist yet, so this fat spider could happily hang over the king's throne. :) Quote
