There's a couple of interesting pieces there... What do the (black) Astromech legs plug into?

near as I can tell it looks like a solid 4x4 brick with pegs or maybe 2 of them since the bat signal looks too wide, I hope to find out, have it marked on the calendar to get there with my kids and hopefully get 2 of them built...I think this is a kids only thing, you can find out at toysrus.com/toyevents

The fine print at the bottom of the Sunday ad:

"Event intended for children, ages 5-up."

I wonder how many "big" kids will show up.

My local store use to have enough for the "big kids" but in recent years, they would run out and now it's kids-only. I guess LEGO suddenly got much more popular or people are networking better to spread the news of these freebies.

Well, I went, bad news I'm afraid :cry_sad:

Did anyone else get it?

Nope they had like 5 bat signals and sold out quick. The lady told me all they had was a friends poly bag and didn't give me anything and then they it was ages 5 through 12. I left upset. My toysrus has terrible workers.

My daughter got one. The R2 legs mount into a 2 x 1 brick with a technic hole in the middle. Lego used to have a 4 x 4 round brick with pin holes all around--is that part now out of service? It would have worked a little better. I mean, it's otherwise fine for a freebie.

I do wish that the bat-logo porton had been trans-yellow or clear with the Bat-logo printed on, but what can you do...

Took my son to get one. My TRU had a whole box full(at least 75). I asked if "big kids" could get one too, but sadly, I...I mean, they, couldn't haha.

But along with the set, we also got a really cool comic book with a pull out of all the super heroes and villains done by Paul Lee.

I don't think so, I think Lego just wanted a higher piece count for the build

I bought one off of ebay as I couldn't make it to a store for the event. Really like it - it looks great with a Commissioner Gordon next to it!

Pics?
