Herky Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) http://www.promobricks.de/lego-billund-airport-4000016-neues-special-edition-set-aufgetaucht/3564 Sorry, I know that link is not in English, but this looks to be the special edition for next year at Billund. I like it a lot and really wish they would sell these to the public instead of making them in such small numbers. I realize it is for the special tour thing, but, for those of us that do not have the ability or funds to get there, maybe we could purchase it anyway...the one I do have I paid a lot for but it is one of my favorite sets, 4000006. DuckBricks Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 (edited) Nice, looks like you found it! I like the train better though.... Edited October 9, 2014 by legozebra Quote
Herky Posted October 9, 2014 Author Posted October 9, 2014 well I am not sure what the words actually say, it was also hinted to me that this could be like the Lego House 4000010 which was a special edition, but this one would be for the Billund Airport for sale...can someone interpret the words to English? If it is an airport item I would think the availability would be much higher. Quote
zux Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 I don't see "No _____ / _____" which is normaly available for LIT sets. I think it will probably similar to LEGO House, sold in Billund only. Already for sale in BL Quote
promobricks Posted October 9, 2014 Posted October 9, 2014 Hi, i am the author of the german blog post. It seems to be so that this set will be sold exclusively in Billund like the LEGO House Set from early 2014. At Billund Airport, there is a mid-size LEGO Brand Store and I believe the new special edition set will be available at this shop only. I tried to contact some people at LEGO for further details, but no luck yet. Quote
Herky Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 thanks, that is better news than it would be the tour special which means it would likely never come on the market...but seeing the price on BL, wow, $450 US for the cheapest, not sure how they already have the sets as your blog seems to say 2015 from what I can discern, would love to see some come on the market and get it for less than $100US Quote
Jared Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 Yet another amazing set I won't have enough money for... ever... :'( Very cool set though! Quote
promobricks Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 All sellers on BrickLink are from Hungary. There is a big LEGO factory, where this new special edition set is most likely produced. From that factory I can remember several leaks in the past. In my opinion, these sets on BrickLink are not the final sale sets as you can see on the front side of the box (no number of pieces, no age statement, ...). Quote
L@go Posted October 10, 2014 Posted October 10, 2014 I'm pretty sure promobricks has got it right when he says it will be a special edition for the store (which is not a regular Brand Store) at the Billund Airport. As it looks a lot like the LEGO House set that is now sold in shops in Billund, I'd be surprised if this is not a similar deal, and that sells for 150 kroner (20€, $25), so this should be about the same - it looks roughly the same size. Which means the prices on eBay and BL are bound to come down quite a bit once it's actually on sale (and certainly to less than $100). The reason it's offered for those crazy prices now is obviously because it's not available to the public yet and the sellers want to cash in on the fact that they're the only ones that have it - for now. I wouldn't be surprised if the box art is final, though - the LEGO House set doesn't have an age statement, either, and most sets here in Europe don't have the number of pieces on the box. Quote
Herky Posted October 10, 2014 Author Posted October 10, 2014 more great news, thanks, I really like this 40000XX series, just so hard to get them, outside of Lego House and this new one, I rarely see any come up on ebay, but this series also includes the Kirk house and other special tour sets. For me I like the factory ones, and yes I know BL has them, but again high prices. They are very small in piece count as well so putting out $300US for one is just out of my logic spending. I appreciate all the replies and answers and hope that we all can pick this up in 2015 if it is a desired set. Quote
