Humdrum Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) Hello everybody, I'm a new arrival to this forum, and I currently reside in a small corner in Europe called Belgium. I hope to be able to contribute to this nice gathering of (A)FOLs. I allready explained a bit how I awoke from my slumber in this post, but I'll gladly give some more background information here. So the Volkswagen Camper Van brought me back from my dark ages, and if I'm not mistaken 8074 is the one that put me to sleep. Actually the set itself wasn't at fault, it's just the last one I got before I reached that age where it's no longer 'cool' to play with Lego. As a kid I was fortunate to have 'inherited' my fathers Lego collection (mostly 60s and 70s stuff), and to get a lot more over time. Thinking back about it makes it hard picking an absolute favourite theme, I used to mix and MOC pretty much everything I had. Although the following sets do bring back fond memories: 6882 Astro Grappler - one of my earliest recollections of me and my father building something together http://brickset.com/...eight-Train-Set - 7735 12V freight train and the 7777 trains ideas book... spent hours rebuilding and finding solutions to missing/special pieces. http://brickset.com/...-Seas-Barracuda - the famous Black Seas Barracuda, longest build I ever did as a kid. Also the only one that I kept intact for years. http://brickset.com/...-1/Polar-Copter - 8640 Polar Copter, technic set with minifig. Given to me as a 'get well soon' present after I had some surgery. Looking forward is easier. Vehicles got me back into collecting Lego. As mentioned before I have the VW camper, add to that the Sopwith Camel biplane, Technic Cargo plane (I'm a bit of an aviation nut), Mini Cooper and the Technic MKII mobile crane. Those are just for display, other than that I'm refreshing my MOC skills and fiddling around with some brickfilming. Although the latter is going to require some more work and tutoring by my father once again since he's the one knowledgable in photography. That's my AFOL story so far, I'm looking forward learning from everyone here! Edited September 15, 2014 by Humdrum Quote
Jim Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Hi Humdrum! Welcome to EB. The Technic Cargo Plane sure is awesome. Bit of an Aviation Nut too, and looking at some of the other models, I guess we share the same interest Will see you around in the Technic section Jim Quote
