The Contest:

Hey everyone, I am sure members of our Eurobricks Community are looking forward to this highly anticipated LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 contest challenge. As we now look back into history, we started our very first LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 1 Town Building Contest, continuing with the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 2 Building Contest, following up with the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 Building Contest and ending with the recent LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 4 Building Contest. Eurobricks is proud to present for the fifth time of this new challenging building contest for the months of October and November. So, gather your bricks and start building your entries together!

What You're Building

We are opening 2 major Building Categories for our Eurobricks Community. It's much more challenging, interesting and exciting than before. More importantly, we want to see your imagination guide your building inspiration.

Category A - Build an 8x8 Vignette

Build an 8x8 vignette from any theme where you could display any of the 16 new Collectable Minifigures from Series 5. It can be Town, Medieval or even Space. As long you are able to relate the chosen theme and minifigures to your audience, then you are on the right track.

Category B - Build an interacting Movie with the LEGO Collectable Minifigures

Build an 16x16 vignette from any known selected movie theme where you could display an actual interacting movie scene of your selected minifigure from the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 5 and any selected existing minifigures from the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 1 to 4.

Where would you display one of these in Category A?

So let me get this straight, the vig itself does not contain the series 5 fig you have chosen, right?

Yes, for both Category A and B, no Series 5 minifigures is required. This concept is similar to the past LEGO Collectable Minifigures Contests.

A movie scene, eh? Interesting... I'm going to have to rewatch some movies for inspiration I think...

You just had to start the contest on the last day of my break, didn't you?

Well, everyone has been anticipating this for quite some time, and it's great that it's finally here! Good idea for Category B too! So, just to clarify, it just has to fit into a specific movie genre, not represent a scene from an actual movie, right?

Movie based Category B is quite surprising, but it's going to be fun !

Looking forward to the entries !

I interpreted it to be a scene from an actual movie... :look:

I would [attempt to] enter this time around, but I've over-saturated myself with S5 figures. I'll wait for the next one.

I was just saying to my son this morning the contest must be due to start any minute - I'm anticipating an onslaught of Gladiator scenes for category B for some reason - must get inspired...

Well, I don't think you're wrong, gladiator scenes seem to be the most easy thing to do. I would take my hat off to anyone who uses two skaters.

Cecilie interpreted it correctly. I have also updated 2 lines of the rules to mention this portion, to avoid misunderstanding.

At last!

Too bad there's no Category C like last time, but at least I can now post those 16 collectible minifigs that I created for the contest from Series 4 that I never ended up entering, knowing that I won't need to create another 16 for a future contest.

I really like the concept of Category B, I'll try to enter that one.

Well, I'm expecting an onslaught of LOTR scenes with the dwarf and elf.

Oh, OK, thanks. Hm, this is gonna be tricky...

That won't work, as far as I know, there aren't any dwarves with black beards in the movies. :sadnew:

Am I also right in thinking we can enter in both categories?

Well, the Dwarf Warrior may not look much like Gimli, but he could certainly be a stand-in for him, don't you think? :classic:

And yes, I'm sure you can enter both categories, just like in the previous CMF contests.
