agrotic Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Hello folks ! I've recieved my 10177 two days ago (box shipped on 3rd August ... recieved on 22nd !!). So, here's my picture review of this marvelous set (all pictures in my brickshelf gallery) { note : click to enlarge}: the box : the content : the building : zoom on the passengers windows : crappy nose ? quite not sure now ... the cockpit : the back wings : wings fixation system : complete model : final rating for this scultpure set : 10/10 !! best seen from a few meters like the statue of liberty. oo7 Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Thanks for the review Argrotic! I'm still iffy about this set, it looks big and impressive, but that nose cone just doesn't cut it. But TLC did a good job considering that planes are very hard to build, I don't even like the nose cones of alot of these so much. You say "crappy nose ? quite not sure now ..." but then you rate it "10/10 !!", I'm confused. Quote
ApophisV Posted August 24, 2006 Posted August 24, 2006 Whoaw, how many 1x1 clear slopes did you get with this big baby??? X-O Quote

Whoaw, how many 1x1 clear slopes did you get with this big baby??? X-O there are 52 passengers windows ... :D Quote

I guess your english is fine I just wasn't sure if you were saying you weren't sure if you liked the plane becuase of the nose or that you weren't sure if the nose is as bad as other people said it is. Savy? First, I dislike the set "what a crapy nose !", "too many angles on it !" but, I remembered the Statue of Liberty or the Darth Maul bust... when I saw then in real life (and not only on the web), I liked them. And you know what, that's he same for the dreamliner !! so... I rated 10/10 because it's realy a great set, for those who like sculptures. Quote
snefroe Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 did i see this right? the blue cone of the nose is not attached to any other part? you just slide it over the blue cilinder? Quote
BillytheKid Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 I must admit, it looks fantastic. But....I will never buy it, unless it was for sale. I've no room for something big like that. I've sold my statue of liberty this month. It's too big 8-| . Quote
xwingyoda Posted August 27, 2006 Posted August 27, 2006 Many tks Nico for your great review ;-) At first I totally disliked this set but I do admit it looks way better than my first impression !! Thats the thing with sculptures, do not look at them at close range :-D The only sculpture I have is that UCS Yoda and it looks like crap on a closer look, but in a distance it looks great IMO. *yoda* Quote
