Phadeout Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) Could someone add in the [ESL - FB1] part to the topic please, if it is still required... Here is the Freemarket in Nova Terelli, being a larger settlement it isn't the only market in town, it generally sells fresh food and drink, and has a bustling feel most of the time. Nova Terelli, Freemarket (i) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (ii) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (iii) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (iv) by Phadeout, on Flickr Nova Terelli, Freemarket (v) by Phadeout, on Flickr From a Lego point of view this was my first "proper" tree, certainly possible to improve on it but I was fairly happy, I also found it took a staggeringly long time to lay all those 1x1 round tiles but again not unhappy with the result. Apologies for the photos, I am going to have to invest in a proper camera sooner rather than later. This is a medium commerce for the EGS but I won't be licensing it this month. Alejandro's Story for those who are following continues below; Alejandro and his rapidly expanding group of friends and partners were waking through Freemarket on their way to lunch at the Rattled Saber when Roldolfo mentioned he wanted to browse, Hideo, the kendo instructor who had been training Alejandro and Nacho, went with him whilst the other two wandered. By the single tree in the marketplace Alejandro noticed a somewhat familiar face. He turned to the young boy and called to him. Tomasito by Phadeout, on Flickr "You there, don't I know you? No, no, don't worry, you are quite safe I just remember you from Bardo - you were playing in support of a woman with a most amazing voice - what are oyu doing here in Nova Terelli?" "Like you señor I traveled there for the fair" the boy answered "but I think I remember you as well, you did something to an Olean marine who was shouting at my mistress, he turned sick all of a sudden and had to leave. We never had a chance to thank you. But we have gone our separate ways now and now I am looking for new opportunities in Nova Terelli, do you know of anything by chance?" "Well it just so happens that Nacho here has been getting a bit of a nuisance recently, I was looking for a valet and I imagine you would do a fine job. Anyway Nacho is needed for more serious tasks now - we have a lot of work to do here in Nova Terelli, business has been good and there are some new developments opening up here every day." "Señor, that would be wonderful! My thanks." That's settled then - Nacho, where has Roldolfo gotten to, he'd better not be annoying that beardy chap again - he has no sense of humour that one. Roldolfo at the market by Phadeout, on Flickr "Why are you here again? You seem to come here just to start trouble - what is your problem?" "My problem is I don't understand why you are trying to sell this rubbish, it is all just a load of crap - look at that lamp, clearly not real gold - just an ugly knock-off". "I'll have you know that it is a magical lamp - I can't show you or the magic will be wasted but it can call forth a djinn who grants wishes." "Do you think I came down in the last shower? Do you? And this, what do you mean it is the "One Ring" You have a whole tray of them under your stall..." "this ring has the power to call them all and in the darkness bind them you know, as well as other useful magical abilities" "Them who? The other crappy trinkets you have under your table? "Just go away, if you don't want anything just go!" "Actually I was wondering about that hat..." "It's mine" "So not for sale then?" "No." "I thought you might want to get rid of it" "Why, it's my hat" "Yes but you look ridiculous in it" "Go away before I call the watch." "Fair enough, see you next week - I'm already looking forward to it" Edited April 13, 2016 by Phadeout Quote
TitusV Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Lovely market, I really like all things going on Quote
Kai NRG Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Neat market scene, I really like the tree and the activity going on! Could someone add in the [ESL - FB1] part to the topic please, if it is still required... Actually it never was required, and certainly not now! Quote
Tezclatipoca Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Neat market scene ! I like how you made the top of the bottles ! Your tree is good, perhaps a bit classic, but it's good for a first tree ! Perhaps you could use some hinges to make the leaves less parallel. Overall, good job ! Quote
Garmadon Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Very nice story, Phadeout, particularly that part with Rudolpho and the bearded chap! Excellent build as well, the activity, tree, and cobblestones turned out quite nicely here! Quote
Capt Wolf Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I like it, both the build and the story. Your tree is good, and I like how the tree and bush are framed in the ground. Lots of activity and nice details and figure posing. Well done! Quote
Fuzzy MacFuzz Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 This really captures the atmosphere of many street markets I have been to in France and Spain, really nicely done. Except that in those markets they always have live chicks and rabbits in baskets! The dialogue with the wizard made me laugh; if only Sauron knew where this market was, he could have saved a lot of trouble! So could you with those cobblestones if you'd bought that genie lamp...never mind, all your effort really paid off, it looks great! Quote
Elostirion Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Great to have this scene in Nova Terreli. I really like the action and detail, and also the rudimentary way of the market stands - just plain and simple business, as it's supposed to be in NT! The mayor approves. Quote
Asgon Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Nice build. I guess the shadow from the tree is a nice place to cool down in the midday sun. Quote
Captain Dee Posted April 26, 2016 Posted April 26, 2016 This is a nice market scene, and the dialogue at the end is great. There's quite a cast of characters and the tree in the corner is a neat feature. Keep it up. Quote
