AFOL SF Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 The Tow truck looks a little fattish to me, and I'm actually getting sick of orange, I think I would have liked yellow. I totally agree... Yellow would've been a better choice (realistic-wise, too), unless of course it's the year of the color orange? Quote
Darth_Legois Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I totally agree... Yellow would've been a better choice (realistic-wise, too), unless of course it's the year of the color orange? Well I love orange, but something like white or yellow mightve been better but I like orange for this. But the blue lights dont go well, I'll probable change them for Trans-yellow to be more accurate since trans-orange on orange wouldn't go together] Quote
keetong Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Well the new sets are looking pretty awesome. I love the Tow Truck its so cool, and I'll be able to add more orange o my collection. The wind turbine is cool I can't wait to get my hands on it, especially the truck that comes with it. The temple of doom looks as though its got some nice pieces with it, although I wish they would have given the guy a scimitar and not that wierd blade thing. The repair garage looks cool, althogh it must be said I'm making my own and it well, much better Quote
welcomestranger Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 Could that be a new road on the Tow Truck pics? Sorry, but it looks like a runway plate from one of the airport sets from the 90's... I like the stand-along tow-truck... I'm very happy that it has doors, and would like to see these make a comeback on all vehicles... As for the main garage, I'm not a fan of the open style of it, so will just have to use it for parts as it certainly won't fit into my town scheme.... Quote
Peppermint_M Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I totally agree... Yellow would've been a better choice (realistic-wise, too), unless of course it's the year of the color orange? I think the orange is cool, with a set of custom stickers, the RAC can help the broken down drivers of Lego Town! A yellow one would be cool for an AA tow truck and there is a local company operating in my area who are green and white with red safety stripes. I suppose downloading the instructions and buying the parts in a colour variation would be a good way to populate your town with towing and roadside rescue companies Quote
Jvvv Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I wonder how many roller coasters we're going to see right after the Indiana Jones set is published officially... Has somebody already made any calculations how many sets do you have to buy to get a decent coaster? Quote
Barricade769 Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I'm loving the new garage and tow truck The temple of doom looks awesome too, although I agree that they should have used the old scimitar instead of the skeleton cleaver/scythe piece. Quote
green dewback Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 (edited) I wonder how many roller coasters we're going to see right after the Indiana Jones set is published officially... Has somebody already made any calculations how many sets do you have to buy to get a decent coaster? The "slope" piece are horizontal at the connection point, so it would be a bumpy ride instead of a simple giant "drop". Edited April 14, 2009 by green dewback Quote
astra Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 The Windmill set looks promising! I wonder if it would be possible to get the turbine functioning using a motor... Quote
Jvvv Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 The "slope" piece are horizontal at the connection point, so it would be a bumpy ride instead of a simple giant "drop". The bumpier the better... Well, maybe it needs a little bit developing. But still I think it's worth a try. Quote
Er!k Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 I really love the Wind Turbine Transport I also read the discussions about the size of the windmill, but yesterday I went to Schiphol Airport (near Amsterdam) and I saw a small wind mill next to the A4 which pretty matches the size of the one from the Wind Turbine Transport. So they do exist Quote

Klaus-Dieter Posted April 15, 2009 Posted April 15, 2009 Thank you very much for the many great pics, Kanal-K1! So when do you plan to show us a review of the awesome 7747 Wind Turbine Transport? I wonder how many roller coasters we're going to see right after the Indiana Jones set is published officially... Has somebody already made any calculations how many sets do you have to buy to get a decent coaster? I, too, would so much like to see TLG releasing a rollercoaster - or at least some folk festival/fairground sets in general! But I regrettably don't see that happen. Klaus-Dieter Quote
paul_delahaye Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 i'm not getting the blue lights on the recovery trucks either trans orange or trans yellow would be much more in keeping, blue is reserved for Fire, police and ambulance :-) A simple fix Quote
Kanal-K1 Posted April 16, 2009 Author Posted April 16, 2009 So when do you plan to show us a review of the awesome 7747 Wind Turbine Transport? Klaus-Dieter Klaus, you will see pictures of built 7747 soon, but not a review. I sold this set as MISB to one member of my AFOL community, and he will make a review, but in Czech language, so I will link photos within one week. I will make review for 7639 during weekend, and, most probably, for 7195 and 7196. Finally I have been able to acquire those sets too, and I am really looking forward for it. Quote

We're not talking about summer sets, we're talking about the summer sets that Kanal-K1 owns. I hope to see a few reviews of those sets you own soon...so many of them are still a WIP. Quote
mania3 Posted April 16, 2009 Posted April 16, 2009 It's good to see the door pieces have returned. This fact was cemented for me when I was at LEGOLAND the other day and the had several of them in the PAB section. Exciting stuff for City builders. Quote
