Kanal-K1 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Hi all, I have a chance to get early pictures of some August 2009 sets, as I have no time to make review for all those, I make this post just to share few photos with you. 1. 7638 Tow Truck Quote
k_peek_2000 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I love the style of it but I don't like the color orange. I think it is used way too much in the City sets. But this set will definitely go into my lego "city" (as far away from the Coast Guard sets as possible) for sure! Quote
Kanal-K1 Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 (edited) 2. 7199 Temple of Doom 3. 7747 Wind Turbine Transport Edited April 10, 2009 by Kanal-K1 Quote
brickfreak99 Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 I think on the back of the Temple of Doom box there is a diagram showing that the tracks are thinner than usual. Quote
Kanal-K1 Posted April 10, 2009 Author Posted April 10, 2009 4. 7642 Garage I think on the back of the Temple of Doom box there is a diagram showing that the tracks are thinner than usual. It shows, that you can make 6 wide or 8 wide rails....seems, that the system is similar as at old 12 V trains, rails are not firmly fixed to plates, so width can be adjusted. Quote
Ricecracker Posted April 10, 2009 Posted April 10, 2009 Nice! What other sets do you have in store for us? I like the smoke garage door panels in the garage, a first I think. Quote
ILikePi Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 You got so many cool summer 2009 sets so early! Thanks for posting pictures of these. These pictures are much clearer than the ones in your review of City Corner. Quote
baby Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I didn't see the wind turbine transport before. Quote
diabloiij Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 wow, thank you so much for these pictures. Quote
Kanal-K1 Posted April 11, 2009 Author Posted April 11, 2009 (edited) 5. 7686 Helicopter Transport For many new pictures see my forum Brickdome.cz. No need to double effort and post pictures to BS. Edited April 11, 2009 by Kanal-K1 Quote
Algernon Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 Haven't seen these sets before... they all look pretty strong. 2009 is a good year for City. Quote
Derek Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Wow. I never was too fond of that Tow Truck, but I may have to reconsider. As usual, thanks for sharing. Quote
brickfreak99 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Could that be a new road on the Tow Truck pics? Quote
3.14 Toasts Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I like them all, they look very promising. Quote
The Green Brick Giant Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 The Tow truck looks a little fattish to me, and I'm actually getting sick of orange, I think I would have liked yellow. Quote
Joebot Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I wish the wind turbine was sold separately from the vehicles. It would have been fun to buy four or five wind turbines to build a wind farm in my city, but I really have no need for four or five gigantic red transport trucks. Thanks for the pictures. The City theme is as strong as I've ever seen it in my 30 years of collecting! Quote
Holodoc Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Could that be a new road on the Tow Truck pics? I see nothing new here. To me it looks like the existing road plates. I wish the wind turbine was sold separately from the vehicles. It would have been fun to buy four or five wind turbines to build a wind farm in my city, but I really have no need for four or five gigantic red transport trucks. I second your wishes. Where´s our ambassador? Quote
Eskallon Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 Wow, I actully havent seen some of these before. You are really lucky to have ot them all so early. I personally think the Garage set looks great. The wind turbine set also looks seriously cool. Quote
CP5670 Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 The standalone tow truck is good, but as some have already said the proportions seem off. The service station comes with its own tow truck though, which looks simply fantastic. I don't really like the wide open design of that set, but will probably get it just for the trucks it comes with. Quote
5150 Lego Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 I can't be 100% certain, but it looks like the trailer in the wind turbine transport extends. Anyone else catch this? Quote
Justin Posted April 13, 2009 Posted April 13, 2009 That Turbine Transport set looks quite interesting. That Indy set has some useful parts for some Western gold mine MOCs, such as those tiny tracks. I also like the tow truck, as well as the sports car with call box. Quote
Piranha Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 (edited) Thanks for sharing I love the temple of doom, has some nice figs and the bendable tracks look great for a variety of purposes The tow truck depot reminds me of 6434 Just more detailed Edited April 14, 2009 by Piranha Quote
Pierre_Cochereau Posted April 14, 2009 Posted April 14, 2009 I like them all, but when I compare the 7747 to the Vestas product, I have to say that I like the Vestas product better than the non-limited version, because the Vestas thing had the little green hill, the cottage building and the smaller service van, and as good as the giant red truck looks, I just like the other design better. But I won't complain ... after all, I downloaded the Vestas instructions and thus will be able to build the cottage anyways ... Quote
