    Kogyik's Car Talk

Again the emisions are only a concern if you believe the Global Warming Hoax/THEORY. So when I say efficient I mean monetary cost efficient. There are plenty of hazardous Materials that naturally occur in the world. Some are so distructive to us humans that if we get near them they will kill us in a very short time of exposier, Namely radioactive materials and sulfuric acid along with others. I think it is various government agencies around the world who wish monetary harm against the US. Everything comes down to the money trail. Follow it and you will find a wealthy group of individuals who are gaining from this. Original scientist who came up with the theory did not take into account that Volcanic activety in the oceans is the real culprit for Global Warming. NOT MY CAR. NOT THE FACTORIES THAT I HAVE WORKED IN. NOT THE COWS EATING GRASS AND FARTING. Truly I do believe in being respectful to the environment, but that doesn't mean that I should be forced by law to use a microwave instead of cooking over a wood fire in my backyard. I should have free choice in the matter. That seems to be the direction of these so called enviro Bills and laws that are currently being passed. My favourite car I have owned was a '89 Honda Prelude SI. The handling was great for the time as well as decent acceleration. I live in an area with lots of curvy roads and hills. So handling is always an important feature in a car for me.

    Kogyik's Car Talk

Hey Polish Guy nice ride. My original sacastic point was the irony and hypocrisy involved in the whole cashforclunkers deal. It doesn't make sense to make people buy new cars when there are perfectly efficient older cars. Another thing is I consider my car a clunker, it's 16 years old ! my car doesn't qualify for clunker status under the new bill. I didn't actually take out the exaust or the catconvert, but it is rusted off at the engine and it does get about 5 miles more to gallon like it is. Another thing I do to squeeze an extra 2-3 miles a gallon is add a teaspoon of acetone( fingernail polish remover) to the fuel. This might not be good for fuel injecter, but it does help on gas mileage. Heck my car is 16 years old and I only paid $600. Thats what most people pay per month or two on a new car. And going on four years it can't be beat. I'm sort of a minimalist/ Ascetic so I try to keep all my expenses low. Some of my close friends call me a Neo Luddite, Which I dispute with enthusiam. Point me in the direction to car talk forum thanks. BTW best car I've ever driven was my brothers(He's retired and a Vet of US Airforce) 400 horsepower Subaru. Sweet ride, the handling is amazing, and I was comlpetely impressed by the way the engine shuts down if you red line it too long. It's not against my gov. philosphy. I was just trying to figure out where my car stood on the governments scale for this ridiculus Bill that is so anti freemarket. You can only use it on NEW american cars that aren't necsarily[sic] more efficient on gas.

Right now I drive a 1993 toyota tercel. It cost me $600 dollars US four years ago. I love it! I took the muffler and Catalytic converter off so that my carbon footprint and gas mileage are better. Tried to get a voucher for a newer car (1995 Geo Metro that gets 45 miles a gallon, but apparently you can only by New American cars that only get 30 miles a gallon).

What book are you reading right now?

Not by Fire, But by Ice by Felix . It is about the falsification of global warming which is caused by Volcanism and not humans. 1984 - Any americans and brits will like this one. Civil Disobediance - This so far is joke. the guy is just lazy.

    What's your ethnicity?

I'm Glad you assimilated into US culture but the majority of illegals from South and Central America do not. Pm me if you want to discuss further. For you euros out there Senator Kennedy came up with the immigration act not Reagan also it states that if you are from Europe you have less of a chance to get a green card. Only People of color need apply.

    What's your ethnicity?

No that's because they don't try to learn ANGLAISE. Instead we cater to their pathetic whims. I my Grossmutter came here from germany, She learned English in three months and worked (indentured servant/ Slave) in cottonfields in Memphis along side Blacks for five years just to get a greencard then had to wait another 10 years to get citizenship. I can speak English/German/ and Some Spanish, but I won't give an illegal a potato if he don't try to learn the language and then march his A$$ back across the Rio Grande.

New LEGO stores in US & Germany

Hey you nut jobs in Ohio if you didn't see the post in C-C then here you go. Cicinnati store is open. They opened on May 21st. Their grand opening will be June sometime. It is quite small and the pick a brick wall only has a small assortment. Come on lego look at your sales history in the region from 80's through the 90's. It should show that this was one of your top market areas. Go to brcklnk and see all the Ohio stores.
  10. A funny thing: I do not know if someone this still knows but in one of the phases in the establishment of Europe… our lords in their ivory towers then said that in every European country the prices of the products would be the same (food and non-food). I believe it was in 1993. At least that have the Belgian political leaders proclaims on television. In other words if you bought a hamburger at McD in Belgium then this hamburger will have the same price as at McD in France. So also for Lego, Playmobil, Ikea, Chanel, Dior, ect. Up to this day I have not seen much of it. Why Would you want to pay the same price for McD's? If you can buy a product cheaper somewhere else wouldn't you go there instead? Example: I go to Brcklink find a minfig I like but it is listed in 100 different stores with varying prices from $2 US to $5US. Now all the stores that list it at $2-$3.50 are in europe so I would be paying certain taxes to bring it here, which brings the prices up to $4-$5.50. The Lowest price I see for a US store is $3.75 so I get that one because it is cheaper than the others. Quick Question About VAT How much does VAT increase the base price? They are talking about this in the US government. We don't have a Federal Sales Tax, Only State Sales Tax.

  13. Yeah We're trying to get our taxes lower. Hopefully with a new President this will happen. Right now I spend about 44% of my paycheck in taxes. Hopefully with a new Pres. we can also get a flat tax introduced so there won't be any loopholes for tax breaks. HHMM whats 44% of $500 USD. You do the math and get back to me. This takes into account all my taxes ( federal, state, county, village and sales and property and gas and sewage etc.....). So out of the 44%. I still have to pay for food, gas, electric etc.... plus be able to save for retirement. Not to mention my car is just about dead and they introduced a new "KLEAN" fuel in my area which makes my economy car get 20% less gas mileage.
  14. I don't think we have even began to feel the effects of the price of oil in our beloved hobby. ABS stocks probably haven't dipped into the recent (past few years) upswing of oil prices( purely speculation on my part). TLC will increase their prices for sure , maybe they are doing it slowly and gradually so we don't notice . You can be sure they won't loose money. Cardinal Brick and brickzone. Thank you for enlightening me in your situations.
  15. Well Done Tenorikuma. This is a simple, but brilliant explanation of capitalism and Economics of Scale. If everyone wants to buy with chickens then TLC goes where they pay with currency.
