  1. I also found two 42008's on the shelf at TRU, Seattle area, $139.99. Definitely wouldn't bite on anything there unless its (kind of) a buy 2 get 1 free. That said, anyone know how up $$$ TRU's price is? will s@h be $119 or $129?? Havent seen the US list on 42008's anywhere, previous pics and not even TLG. We only know what TLG's 42009 US list, at $239. Opps my typo...$219 at s@h. (even TRU's list wouldn't be $239 of the 42009 -- that'll hit at least $259 in TRU the next few days )
  2. Great point and I agree....Vamp GT will always be the top (Paul--keep trying to better that creation! ) And the yellow 5x11s on our 42009 brings major hope for red returning...sometime.
  3. First off, now this one's my favorite Crowkiller model I'm also smacking myself (for the n'th time!) for not stocking up on red 5x11s. And yes I'm the 3rd quick post regarding the black 19L flex axle!!!
  4. I'll finally admit to the fear that I used to have about Jennifer Clark's Excavator -- even as I was seeing the model in Technic Angel of Retribution's actually in his Lego room I thought I could never build one. Thanks again to both of you for the model and the instructions, but especially you Jennifer have made it on a to-do list (uhmm I'll wait regarding price list!).
  5. David you've definitely earned that 1/2 money back based on how much you HAVE given to TLG...and not just your own purchases man.
  6. I got the last 42006 tonight at a local Seattle Lego store. They should be a lot more plentiful after the crazy holiday.
  7. yep. And even if TLG isn't able to give us everything, I happily buy and build every new Technic set. Sure I wish we'd have even more sets every year (Oh wait, thats why we have MOC's and even more builds -- uhmm I mean other builders so much smarter then me, and we can pay a small fee instructions, maybe Mocplans.com ) But back to the fun 2H, as mentioned already that soon it won't be so blurry.
  8. Technic Gearhead finally leaked his color blind He kept it quite a secret until last week. (I still think spray pant is involved, since photoshop was early eliminated)
  9. Well said Ondra . Its fun either way, and I'm definitely trying every option!
  10. I also concur...box for the crane doesn't show pneumatic, sadly LA instead. As mentioned yesterday the 8421's previous problems and easy fixes were also very realistic similar to hydraulic booms on a crane. Linear actuators instead are a multiple disappointment to me...we'd get the pneumatic cylinder brackets revived (!), and the crane v2.0 would slowly raise the boom using a pneumatic compressor. So I'll do a mod on mine , but can't wait for Designer-Han for pneumatic mod's and an XXL!!
  11. I thought you figured! So I slightly exaggerated my its "finally alive!"... now we have to wait "forever"
  12. That ones got my hope no doubt! Its gotta be pneumatic no mater what, with how much more realistic then LA's are, and being a flagship crane. Also just recall last months Blakbird's 5 minute (or was it 30 second!) 8421 answer on hydraulic realistic cranes that real booms are held with a lock link in the air. So of course I want the 42009 with a new, larger pneumatic cylinder, but at this moment I ALSO want (need) more pneumatic cylinder BRACKETS!!! So can we need a boom that's huge enough for two new large pneumatics connected with the two cylinder brackets?!?.
  13. Definitely a valid point Anio, but the fact that the mold for 6L thin liftarms is still used (or can be used) in production makes a color choice more of a business decision then a business cost for TLG. Sure we don't know if there were 2 million extra yellow 7L's sitting in the warehouse as a result of another business decision, thus making it a cost savings on the 8043, but as noted above, the repetition of simply not running certain colors again when the mold is still used to run other colors seems to be a strategic move. On a similar note, I'm building the stock 8043 in red soon, after building the ultimate mod a while back, and BOTH the red 1x6 and 1x7 thin liftarms are rare. Red 1x6's were easier to stock up on, thanks to a US Bricklink seller who has over 2000 if I remember right. So its nice that either will work, even more so that 1x6 "should have been" used on the production 8043
  14. Multiple thumbs up! Can't wait to see the site progress. Speaking from experience in purchasing various instructions from those much better at Technic MOCs then myself, sometimes its painless (crowkillers), but other times the process of paying for and then downloading or receiving the instructions has been a headache. This will definitely fill a void!
