  1. Sarel, As usual totally amazing work! You are truely an artist!!
  2. POV Ray for cover shots and such. I finally got the buffer exchange to work but it basically adds extra steps to the build in the instruction set and since it has allot of parts and steps, it is already a project and a half. I really liked what LIC does, so much so that i downloaded the source and am working through python to see if i can figure out what is wrong!
  3. Update, I have tried on numerous occations to make a pdf of the instruction set I was working on, it stops @ 1% and doesn't seem to do anything. Shame too as the instruction creator seems really nice and has lots of good features for creating professional looking instruction sets. Guess I have to learn to master the buffer exchange and POV Ray!!
  4. I have used LDD for quite some time but it's instruction creation leaves much to be desired. I have started to use LDRAW and LPub and these two tool are great but I haven't been able to figure out the Buffer Exchange thing so I looked for an alternative. I found this program and it looks promising. I does what LPub does as fare as pdf but it also has some of the editing qualities of LDraw. You can add rotation Icons and move and rearange every aspect of the instruction page. I Generates a cover pave with the finished model and a multipage parts list at the end. I also highlights new parts in the guide. What I was wondering is if anyone else has tried/used this program?
  5. "Honest baby, this "insert Set name here" is for Jacob"! "Son, I have no idea where your "insert part name here" is"! "I'll be in bed in a minute, just have this one part i have to finish." forgot one "honey, I just need these last part to finish the model and I won't be ordering any more from Lego!"

    Light brick parts

Lego education also sells the lights only
  7. Paul, I have seen and admired your work for quite some time, this is awsome!!! You are truely and artist at what you do! I agree with the smothe floor as well, you could probably beat the 20.8 on a smothe surface. And for my american counterparts 20.8 km/h is 12.9245 mph.
  8. If i remember my Vehicle ID from my army days, this is a BMP variant and i would also like to see this in lego, motorized of course!! Might have to give this a go when i get home!
  9. pull up sounds more thesable. Again, don't know the config of the RCX but the one in the nxt is a pull up when i checked the brick schema
  10. Very nice, I want one!!!!!!
  11. Don't own an RCX but the schematic for the NXTT specifies a 2.2k resistor between the switch and the output connector (current limiter). This site has alot of excellent rcx stuff on it so try here and see if you can find some info: http://www.philohome.com/nxt.htm I would say use the resistor as it will not interfere with the signal path and better safe than sorry!
  12. Downloaded the model to check the file, works fine on my Puter! Could be a memory/processor problem on your end, try closing all other programs while working on this file. This could help.
  13. Yules, here is the link. Remember this is a lego direct order so parts might be a little more expensive that BL so keep that in mind. Remember also that after you submit the order, they will email u with their price and you have 2 weeks to call and order or else they cancel the order number. This worked well for my tank model and i got all the parts directly from lego except wheels which are no longer in production, I got those from BL. https://service.lego.com/en-us/replacementparts#BasicInfo Hope this helps.
  14. just checked lego, parts are still manufactured and can be ordered so I assume the will carry them for a while
  15. [ "But Darling, you shouldn't underestimate the capabilities of our 5 year old boy! In fact, that 31313 Mindstorms Set will be just perfect for him!" This has me rolling!! Actually, my son got the first mindstorms set on a visit to lego land @ 7. I have been building his sets since he was about 4. He's 11 now and building his own. He does his own MOCs too! Oh and I now posses the mindstorms!!!
