Before even the oldest liches were born or eldest dragons hatched, a mighty volcano in Noctuurnus went extinct. Since then a forest has grown in the lee of this dead titan. Legend has it that the oldest trees were the original seedlings of this forest, making them among the oldest things in nocturnus. About once a century, someone tries to harvest the wood from this sacred, and apparently peacefull site. Few come back with tales of Toads the size of Horses and Squirrels the size of houses, but only lord Ssisslrth knows the truth, the land is haunted and any intelligent being who enters diminishes in size the longer they travel the woods. Behold the might of......wait a minute.....gah! Sorry, thats a picture of the trunk and crown support structure. Here we are Elves have used the natural properties of the land to make a proper home. The land protects them from unnatural raiders and food can be enlarged in times of famine. They use their natural harmony with nature to avoid the carnivores now at monsterous size and are always aware that here, they are not the top of the food chain, or nature's protectors, they are Tenants. They eat well, and wine is always plentiful. A cask of wine rolled down the right hill can become an enormous barrel. In this way their best vintages are essentially everlasting. Other foods tend to loose some of their flavor or become tough, so natural fruits and animals are raised. In the lowest portions, shrines to the elements protect their home. (the interior picture was too fuzzy) Even using a titan for a home, requires sacrifices in space, so bunk beds with special quilts are used. Each clan is responisble for learning to use the Bow and one other weapon. One clan is on patrol, so it's weapons rack is empty. The base of the tree On a side note, I tried to take a picture of the back of the tree, but....um....it was a little too suggestive. I hope to bring this brickworld.

In the early days of the relation between Men and Dragons, it often occured that many a nest of the giant creatures got plundered by Drow, wild animals or other pests that inhabit the surrounding mountains. In part, this was due to the parents being away during military campaigns, leaving the nests for themselves, as was the habit of this species since ancient times. To reduce the loss of eggs and infants alike, it has become tradition that a caste of men would take care of them. Over the centuries, these men became known as Dreeders and have since earned a great reputation for raising more dragons to adulthood than ever before. One of the first jobs they have to attain to is keeping the eggs warm and evenly temperatured, which they achieve by placing them in a hollow rock placed atop of an eternal fire and turning them around at well-defined times: Just a quick build thrown together while thinking about the best way to approach the 5th Challenge, this is meant to give an insight in the daily life of the non-military people of the Dragonpeaks. As always, C&C are most welcome More on Flickr.

Since centuries ago, the dragons from Historica have had dealings with a number of humans, but never has there been a stronger bond betweenthe two species than the one that can be found among the inhabitants of the secluded Dragonpeaks. In fact, the bonding is so great that the dragons, who live for several centuries, share a fraction of their life force with the rider they choose, thereby allowing those to live far longer than an average Historician. Rhitharg the Young is a red dragon of merely 109 years who hasn't yet fully grown horns to indicate his adulthood. As his potential riders tend to die before the rite can be completed, he hasn't found a rider accustomated to him: Sirdthig, the current rider, seems to be quite affected towards him, though. Maybe because they both share a fairly violent nature even when compared to other pairs. His squire definitely thinks so and, since the rite includes the decapitation of the squire if the bonding between dragon and rider fails, would highly appreciate it if the soon to be held rite would this time be successful. Note: This is a slight modification of the dragon that appeared in set 7017. Unlike most other dragon riders, though, Thoragvil Son of Thror isn't fond of flying, at all. Perhaps that's the reason why he got chosen by Urhark the Fierce, one of the largest two-legged dragons to be known in the annals of Câr Thrakartis. His inability to fly doesn't reduce his might one bit and his surname is not without foundation, either. In fact, enemies reportedly flee the moment they notice that particular pair approaching them. Not that it helps, since despite his bulky appearance, no horse has ever managed to out-run Urhark. And once he engages in melee, nothing can stop him until the last foe is slain: Note: Obviously, this one is a modicifation of 2509 Finally, the Lord of the Dragonpeaks doesn't settle below accompanying the Lord of the Dragons themselves. Therefore, Thror III. has bonded with Thrak the Tall decades ago. Even among his kin, Thrak is unusually large and recently manifested his nickname by towering even above some of the elementals summoned by Victor Revolword. Some of which he fought personally while defending several cities. Unlike most other dragons that rely on their claws, tails and breath as weapons, he additionally uses a giant mace and a shield to increase his arsenal: Note: A modification of Ofnir from 7021 As always, C&C are most welcome and more can be found at Flickr

Even though the inhabitants of the Dragonpeaks had not much business with the dealings of Historica before, the troops of Victor Revolword march by their fiefdom without ravaging several cities. To meet the increasing threat, Thror III. ordered his best engineers to design a variety of warmachines that are to provide supportive artillery for the foot soldiers - and to rain rocks and missiles down on the enemies that dare to besiege their wealthy cities. One of the mightiest machines built is a twin-armed catapult that requires the strength of two green drakes to be pulled: While the drakes are just as sentient as all dragons, Argavius, leader of the palace guard, was bestowed with the command of the artillery unit that is to increase the military might of the Dragon peaks. Able to launch massive rocks as far as 300 meters, enemy troops will forthwith be hard pressed to get near the walls. More pictures can be found at Flickr. C&C are most welcome. Note: This is a modified version of the official catapult, which was part of the set 7021.
