Country flag

  1. This was built by my 12 year old brother. Kendrick and Basil continue their journey and come upon a small farm in the countryside. They pay the farmers a visit and plan to spend a few days working at the farm in return for food and lodging. More pictures can be seen here: link He would appreciate any C&C
  2. I'd like to receive UoP credit for flowers and dense foliage landscaping [Landscape Design] = 1 credit. The second installment in the collab between myself and Infernum. Many grotesque happenings at the Mitgardia/Nocturnus border have been reported. Trying to discover what is going on, two Mitgardian soldiers were sent to one of many Mitgardian watchtowers at the border... "Look! The tower has been destroyed!" cried one of the soldiers as they came into view of what used to be a strong stone and wood tower. "And a Mitgardian soldier's helmet left speared on our flag," growled the other. "Come, we must report this to Chorian immediately," and with that the two soldiers set off for Valholl... I used a different camera for these pictures, so no more blurry sections from a scratched lens. All C&C welcome
  3. Built for Global Challenge VI in the Lands of Classic Castle. This is for the "Unrestricted" Category. My main goals for this build were: to experiment with using dark green 1x1 bricks for the landscape, using bley 1x2 grill bricks for texturing the castle walls, and to create a 'real' castle feel with the build. The castle is fairly simple, but I think it is the most realistic looking castle I've built yet. As always there is a full interior, this time accesible by a hinging wall. Thenwell Castle is a small castle in southern Lenfald, and one of the few castles not currently under the "Queen's" control. Lord Thenwell has been amassing weapons and armor to be ready for the revolt. Pepin helps with the stockpiling. More pictures here: link Any comments/criticism appreciated
  4. Mark of Falworth trudged through the plains of Dreadmoor. His friends had been caught and brutally killed by his cruel enemies. Mark had barely escaped alive, and these traumatic last few days had left him very shaken. But still, he pressed on! He would reach the mysterious destination... Mark scanned the skies with a wary gaze. The dragon might still be after him, and a large open plain is not the best place to fight a huge aerial beast... Mark's well-trained ears soon picked up a distant sound... It roared like thunder, yet it never stopped. Curious as to what could be causing the noises, Mark clambered up the next hill... Mark gasped in horror at the terrible sight! A gargantuan horde of loathsome, despicable OUTLAWS! But what was worse was that the colors and emblems of the evil tyrant Galainir were distributed widely among them! This enormous pack of rogues was in the employ of the false Queen! They were heading North as Mark was heading South! They must be on a destructive route to Loreos and the rest of Roawia! Mark then realized they weren't heading due North, they were heading straight towards HIM! Yes, Mark had been spotted as soon as he had espied them... Quite adverse to fighting alone what must be upwards of ten thousand men, Mark looked round for some advantage or means of escape. But there was no tree or rock or anything whatsoever to hide in or among. He could run, but the lighter equipped brigands could outdistance him by paces... In short, Mark was Doooomed! Mark resolved then and there to fight to the bitter end. He had nothing to lose! He would give his contemptible adversaries a battle to remember forever! With a broad smile on his face and his trusty sword raised high, he burst forth with his nation's famous war-cry- FOR THE GLORY OF LOREOS!!! (LCC) The End... by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC) The End... by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC) The End... by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART 2 2When we last left Mark of Falworth, he was facing off against a horde of loathsome Outlaws! The first warriors who came within reach of Mark's sword were speedily cut down. Mark charged furiously into the great mass of men! Mark slashed and chopped and parried and stabbed in an uncontrollable surge of adrenaline and rage! After a dozen had fallen before his sword, the Outlaws paused in sheer disbelief. Fighting 12 opponents at a time, he still drove them back and held his own! The respite was momentary, as the Outlaws were burning for vengeance against years of disastrous crusades (Some instigated by Mark). More and more fell, and Mark was thought to have fallen dead more then once, but then he would erupt from a pile of struggling bandits and rain down his deadly blows faster then ever! For 7 long hours the carnage raged, and nigh a hundred Outlaws had died trying to bring down the knight of the everlasting smile and perfect hair (which still remained perfect despite the intense action). But even the bravest cannot fight beyond his own strength, and each wave of opponents was getting harder and harder for Mark to drive back... The Outlaws gathered together shoulder to shoulder for a final rush towards their target. Their war-cries grew stronger as Mark's strength faded. But just before they could deliver the death blows, a tremendous, eardrum-bursting roar shook the entire battlefield! Every warrior stopped and looked to the heavens from whence the rumble came. Lo and behold, a colossal black creature descended on the mass of men. Fangs glistening, enormous wings spreading forth in terrible glory. It was none other then the fearsome dragon Cyricus the Mighty! The great host of Outlaws fled like mice before a lion. The Dragon landed with immense impact, feet away from the exhausted Mark. He had no energy left to run, or even to raise his weapon. His voice had long since dissipated. He looked straight into the jaws of death, and smiled. At last his time had come. The massive claws and teeth shrieked towards him as he fell senseless to the ground... (LCC)The End... (Part 2) by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC)The End... (Part 2) by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC)The End... (Part 2) by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr To be Continued... Next year! So this was a fun MOC to make. I really wanted to try out a cliffhanger in a story MOC. For those who don't know what's going on, This is part of a continuing series featuring my LCC character "Mark of Falworth" Oh, and the brown leaves are from Altbricks.com Thanks for viewing and have a great day!
  5. This was built by my 11 year old brother. Conwy Castle is his largest build yet. Kendrick and his companions marched their captives to the nearest castle: The lord of the castle is entertained by the jester who is juggling some pies: The great hall and kitchen The stables: More pictures here: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=535252 He would appreciate any C&C
  6. I experimented with some new techniques in this build: the water, the snow, and the trees. The water and trees original designs are by Buurli_Burri and Brother Steven. The snow design is new as far as I know, basically you use white tiles set on top of dark bley slopes. To keep the tiles from falling off you build around them a bit with other slopes/bricks etc. The pictures should show what I mean. A Mitgardian Clansmen goes spear fishing in the snowy Clanlands. Any C&C appreciated
  7. Avalonian Countryside The beauty of rural Avalonia have few peers. From ripening fields to towering forests, the countryside is the heart and soul of the land. Local farmers have been tilling the earth for generations, and would like nothing more than to live out their lives in peace. However, the ambitions of greater men regularly disrupt these desires, and the young men sent to battle seldom return; some caught by the stray arrow or a sharp spear, while others are drawn in by buzz and adventure promised by the capitol. But for the people who get to live here in peace, there is no place greater. It's home. Have been wanting to build a more sizable representation of the Avalonian landscape for a while now. Tried to include different aspects of Avalonia, like fields, grasslands, moors and a few different types of forests. Hopefully it is an accurate visualisation of rural Avalonia This is my first time dabbling in microscale, and I found it both more fun and more challenging than I thought it would be. The main thing is that it allows for representing a large area with few pieces, which, with my current lego budget, is pretty critical. I definitely see myself building more in this type of scale. Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it! C & C always welcome
  8. The third module of a large collab build that Isaac and I are building for Brickfair, Virginia. First module, second module. We’ll be posting one new module a week. The harbor-master’s house and tower both have full interiors. The tower is only one half of the gatehouse, which is why the arch has nothing on top of it. The harbor-master’s house sits in the corner of the Nordheim Docks, and all incoming traffic is registered there. The winter lull gives the harbor-master plenty of time to catch up on his records, inside his cozy home. I would like to claim UoP credits for: General Building: Interior Design Lots more pictures on Brickbuilt All C&C much appreciated
  9. Here is chapter 2 of my story about Aymeri and the fight to reclaim Katoren. I’ve wanted to try a desert ruins scene for a while now, so this was a rather fun build. Inspired by Markus’ amazing build. I would like to claim the following UoP credits: History Military Science: battle scene After the council meeting, Aymeri and Tierri set to work gathering a few of their most experienced soldiers, and some supplies to set up the initial camp at the ruins of Kharab fortress, just outside of Katoren. Once they had all snuck out of the city bringing their supplies and some weapons, they travelled to the ruins, as discreetly as possible. What they found inside Kharab, however, was not what they expected. "Hey-ho, look'e what I got 'ere! One 'o them merchants in town gave me all this gold for them blankets we pinched off the last caravan," Rognir declared as he proudly displayed a bag of gold coins. "Ooh! Gimme the shinies!" Ahriss immediately replied, quickly getting to his feet and rushing toward the inviting bag of loot. "Get back, you, aye got this meself!" Rognir brandished his axe and Ahriss quickly stopped, though his eyes remained greedily fastened on the bag. At this, Khatir, who had been seated on a crude bench finally spoke up:"Shut up, both of ya! We'll divvy the gold evenly and if either of you tries to cheat, I'll slit your throat. So sit down, Ahriss, and let Rognir show us the gold." Seeing Khatir's drawn dagger, and his apparent readiness to carry out his threat, the other two quickly complied. Meanwhile, the bandit leader returned from his scouting of the nearby trade route. "No new caravans going by today, the road was pretty much empty, 'cept a few peasants... What are you doing with that scorpion, Karih?" asked Zaeim suspiciously. "Why, slicin' him up fer dinner 'o course! You 'ant me to save ya the tail?" the grubby cook responded. Zaeim's countenance quickly darkened, "I don't want any part of a scorpion you fool! Make something edible for once!" "There's no 'eason for you to get yerself upset, all yer shouting will scare Fa'ar, e's still learning to trust us!" exclaimed Karih, as he quickly stooped to reassure his pet rat. Zaeim's response was cut off by a cry from Qatie, the look out:"To arms! Soldiers outside!" Aymeri's group had made it to the ruins undetected, but were surprised to hear the sounds of voices from within. Aymeri and Tierri discussed what they should do while one of the soldiers cautiously peeked around the rotting door to see who was inside. "Looks like bandits," he reported, "I see 5 men." Tierri spoke up, "With the 4 of us, we should be able to take them by surprise and capture them quickly." "I agree, let's rush them together," Aymeri said, readying his bow. But just before they started their ambush, their plan was ruined by Qatie's cry of alarm. Realizing that a fight was now inevitable, the small group rushed ahead. When the first soldier burst in, Zaeim was already facing the doors , and so he quickly attacked with his huge scimitar. With a cry of alarm, Karih promptly hurled the dead scorpion directly at Tierri. The other bandits rushed for their weapons, their gold momentarily forgotten. The scorpion caught Tierri squarely in the face, momentarily stunning him. Karih didn't try to follow up the attack, but instead stooped to pick up his beloved pet rat, as Khatir, Rognir, and Ahriss rushed towards the fight. After recovering from the unexpected blow, Tierri hastily moved to battle Khatir, while Aymeri quickly directed an arrow towards another onrushing bandit. Zaeim brought a crushing blow down on his foe, who was barely able to block in time. Aymeri's shot smashed into Rognir's shoulder, knocking him backward and out of the fight. After recovering Fa'ar, Karih's only thought was to flee. Unfortunately, his flight sent him crashing into Ahriss. Zaeim's powerful blow had hammered the solider to the ground, and the bandit chief prepared his finishing stroke as Aymeri knocked another arrow and Tierri continued to struggle with Khatir. Qatie had been waiting for the attackers to move out from the archway enough for her to have a clear shot, and now she readied her crossbow and fired. The downed warrior tried to scramble backwards away from Zaeim's stroke, but Aymeri's final soldier leaped to his comrade's aid, plunging his spear into the threatening figure. In that instant, the crossbow bolt buried itself into the ground, barely missing the soldiers Aymeri released another arrow at the fleeing cook, and hit the man's calf, immediatlely halting the escape. Tierri had finally gotten the better of his opponent with a parry from his shield and quick counterattack, while the soldiers made sure Zaeim was vanquished. Aymeri however had a new foe. Ahriss had finally recovered from his run in with Karih, and whipped his spiked chain towards Tierri, forcing the warrior to block with his shield. One of Aymeri's men started towards the orc to start a flank attack, not noticing the downed bandit in his path. As he stumbled and fell, his spear battered into the orc's armor. Despite Qatie's ferorcious attack, Aymeri parried confidently with his dagger, then followed with a left handed uppercut. The punch sent the bandit reeling up against the wall. Thus the ruins of Kharab fortress were seized by Aymeri and his men after an unexpected dispute. Build pictures: There are some more pictures on brickbuilt. C&C appreciated, on both the build and story
  10. Snowy Castle dioramas have long been my favorite subject matter, so this was an extraordinarily fun build. This is my largest irregular base build to date, and features a full interior throughout the whole keep. The rockwork was made using my technic brick design, which you can see a tutorial on, here: Flickr It's my personal favorite of all my builds so far, so I hope you all like it The citizens of Nordheim are quite proud of their large keep, and can often be found feasting inside it's protective walls on cold wintry days. See all the details here: link
  11. My entry for Category A of the Frozen Beyond contest. There's a full interior in the manor, via pull out rooms: dining hall, armory, storage room, barracks and bedroom. The doors and trapdoor are functional. Sir Glorfindel and a group of valiant Mitgardian warriors have been serving as a task force to help defeat the Algus from destroying more Mitgardian lands and homes. Lord Thandril had let them use his Manor as one of their bases, but now even that is under attack from the frozen invaders: See more pictures here: link Thanks for looking, I still have another build or two to come this month, including a biggy
  12. Here's my entry to Category B of the Frozen Beyond contest: The Wild Yxen is typically only found in the northernmost parts of Mitgardia, but the unusual cold of the current winter, has seen many migrating well south of their general habitat. They're known for their bulky, furry build, and while not usually an aggressive animal, their brute strength and sharp tusks can be quite dangerous: C&C welcome, I do have more GoH builds coming within the next month, including one that may be my best build yet
  13. An entry into the Forbidden Fortress category of the Colossal Castle Contest. A collab between John (LittleJohn) and I: John built the landscape, while I built the fortress. The build is based off of the story of Beren and Luthien from the Silmarillion. There's a full interior inside, and the drawbridge is functional. Sauron's werewolf form, and Huan were both inspired by Dunedain and Blake Baer. Luthien and Huan, the Hound of Valinar, rescue Beren from Sauron's fortress of Tol-in-Gaurhoth. Sauron takes the form of a werewolf to battle Huan. "Therefore he (Sauron) took upon himself the form of a werewolf, and made himself the mightiest that had yet walked the world; and he came forth to win the passage of the bridge... But no wizardry nor spell, neither fang nor venom, nor devil's art nor beast-strength, could overthrow Huan of Valinor; and he took his foe by the throat and pinned him down" (Tolkien 175). Gates and drawbridge closed: There's a lot to see, so check out additional pictures here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=1687 C&C welcome
  14. Location: H03, Kaalin Tags: Land Vehicle, Vehicle, Exploration Job: Driver Start Log: Little John joined me on this week's expedition to H03, Kaalin, we both were using MANTIS dune buggies, which covered ground very quickly: See more pictures here: link These buggies were really fun to build, and look pretty realistic, I think
  15. Hello all, I have built a small creation based on the Aquazone series from 1995-1996. The landscape is 48x48 tall and it contains several sets from the series. I tried to create the landscape according to the pictures from the catalogs from that time. I used a lot of blue slopes and modified bricks to create the rocks. The landscape was also shown at a small event Megabricks in the Netherlands. A few pictures of the landscape. Here a picture from another angle. Next pictures gives a better look of the base and the surroundings. I also used a few lights in the caves. The next picture shows the light in one cave. More pictures are on my Flickr account. https://www.flickr.com/photos/137652851@N07/albums/72157662307102771/with/23692977991/ The pictures are also on my Brickshelf account. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=560837 Questions and comments are welcome. 17. Dear fellow Brick Builders, long time no see. Due to some serious real life trouble my progress in rebuilding the northen part of the river has been slow. But finally the problems got fixed and I was able to continue with the important staff. My idea was to redesign the montains in a more natural looking way and to use a higher quantity of slope bricks. In addition to those new criterias a have decided to use only one colour. the first result has already presented here in the first topic. Today I proudly present the progress. This picture shows how I wish to continue. Here the elfen "village & forest" shall be build. More pictures are avaible at my Brickshelf folder.
  18. Activity- Exploration. Location- Mynderis - A04. Previously, Mark of Orion saved Captan Brutus from the Malicious Munchmoid on Jurin II. In reward for his brave service and quick thinking, Mark was promoted from the exploration dropship team to a new solo mission. Mark was sad to leave his comrades but the new pay grade was definitely a must. Not eating at the maggot-infested cafeteria was pricey at best! Mark's next mission, to try out a new MANTIS™ prototype vehicle. Arachtis Strider M2 The Arachtis Strider M2© has just come out of the diabolical labs of MANTIS™ HQ. Unlike most conventional vehicles, the Strider has six independently-powered limbs that propel the saucer--style body. Made from a mix of Durithium composites, the strong but flexible exoskeleton provides a durable frame for the softer bioengineered core. The "feet" are based on the same cell structure of the tentacles of the Garctaloid of Yallorn II, which can send sensory information to the control panels while providing excellent support and superior grip. But this unique transportation mode is not just for show. The Arachtis Strider can traverse even rough terrain at 85 MPH. And the 9 Awesomnium-powered thrusters means that this craft is capable of effectively flying in upper level atmospheres and beyond. The designers believed interplanetary travel in the current Strider model is possible, though dangerous due to the vehicle's small size and weak debris shields. Understandably, Mark was very excited to man the first expedition in the Arachtis Strider M2©! His first mission was on the currently uncontested planet of Mynderis A04. neither Octan nor Kawashita were believed to have any operatives on the surface. As Mark touched down on the crusty plain, he felt for the first time what is must be like to be a 20-foot tall alien bug! "Ohohoho! This thing is FUN!" The location Mark had been posted was on the northern tip of the volcanic planet, here the temperature was well below freezing and the lava flows and eruptions were less frequent. The advanced computers immediately began to direct Mark to curious object on a rocky slope. On closer inspection, the purple edifice gave off large amounts of energy and radiation. Probably Awesomnium! "Time to try out the feet." Arachtis Strider M2 on Mynderis A04 Mark directed one of the limbs to rest on the larger crystal in the center of the mound. The computer immediately read out, "Content: Crystallized Awesomnium 98%, Basalt ash 2%" Mark smiled. This tech was useful. "Nice! I wonder how deep this crystal thing goes..." "Approximately 1300 feet." "Haha! This is awesome!" "Incorrect: The content is 98% Awesomnium." "Yes, yes! I know! Hmm... Where are those humor settings..." To Be Continued! (Begin commentary) Well, I didn't have much time this week, but I did have a friend over on friday and while we were building and tinkering with the LEGO I managed to come up with this bug saucer thingy! Reminds me of War of the Worlds, even though I've never seen the movie or read the books! Hopefully next week I'll be able to DESTROY reply to all the MANTIS™ Haters!

  20. Built by my 11 year old brother. Kendrick, Basil, and his companions are traveling on a remote and rather narrow path. Little do they realize the danger around them: Suddenly they are ambushed by bandits: Kendrick tries to defend himself, but Basil runs off: Meanwhile one of the bandits grabs the horses reins and another holds Kendrick's friends at bow point: Kendrick is quickly overpowered by the villian: Almost before they realized what had happened, Kendrick and his companions were being marched off by the bandits: One of the scoundrels drove off with the wagon and horses: to be continued... He would greatly appreciate any C&C, thanks for looking

  22. Built for the "Epic Contest!" over on Flickr. The empire of Brigadar, with their usual ferocity and cruelty, took by storm the smaller nation of Lietemi. Few escaped the occupation, but a very few did. Including the crown prince Connura, who fled to the kingdom of Anselm for safety. The Brigadarians demanded that Anselm return the prince or suffer the consequences! Anselm refused to send the noble prince to his certain doom, the Brigadarians promptly declared war and attacked the knights of Anselm at Drearcliff pass! Can the heroic knights of Anselm defend themselves from the awful onslaught..... .....Or will they to succumb to the terrible knights of Brigadar!? See all the pictures in the Flickr set, or on Mocpages! Thanks for viewing and have a great day!
  23. Here is My first ever freebuild for GoH, and The start of a collaborative series with soccerkid. Now I know this does not seem very winter-esque, but please keep in mind that this is southern Mitgardia in the summer time. Enjoy! Sir Edwyn, Captain of the Royal Guard of the was dispatched to oversea the final stages of the construction of the new Elvyrston Castle of Southern Mitgardia, and to leave behind the first troops who would garrison it. Three days before he was scheduled to leave, he received a mysterious message instructing him to return to Valholl immediately. Perplexed, but loyal to his king, he packed his possessions and set out from the Castle, leaving his second in command in charge.... The series is being housed in this Flickr group. We may add more members to the project, but for now it is us to alternating installments. Stay tuned for soccerkid's build! C&C welcome!

  25. The backstory. The three "good" factions in Roawia, (Garheim, Lenfald, and Loreos) decided to join forces and "purge" the magic islands of their evil inhabitants, but things do not always go as planned... Prince Jarius of Loreos stormed into the agreed-upon meeting place, fuming at the lack of support in the latest battle. The Loreesi had gone forward with the attack, expecting reinforcements from their Lenfald and Garheim allies, but had been mowed down and slaughtered when none came to their aid against the heathen foe. He strode up to Lord Triphian and Jhirian Eindrik. He pierced their eyes with his flaming gaze. "How is it that the Loreesi must fight alone, while their allies bask in the shade?! I lost 300 of my best knights, while you all relax!" The Lenfel Lord, replied hotly "I remember nothing about being asked to help thee fight this battle! And If you had brought more soldiers, you wouldn’t have to beg for our help so often!" The now-infuriated prince unsheathed his sword in a flash, and it would have come to blows but for Jhirian Eindrik. Silent until this moment, he boomed "Now this is insupportable! Stay thine arm, desert prince, for you are among equals!" Piqued, Lord Triphian yelped "I can defend mine own self, thou over-bearded Garhim!" Jhirian Eindrik did not reply, but turned a deep shade of purple and sent the Lenfel leader a smoldering glare. Enraged, Jarius charged from camp and ordered all the remaining Loreesi troops to immediately depart from the magic isles... The attempted purge was over as soon as it had begun. Now more serious problems have arisen... war looms once again on the horizon of Roawia. ________________________________ I was also experimenting with taking a picture of a LEGO MOC with a real life background. That's right. No editing. Thanks for viewing and have a great day!
