  1. Let me present the first iteration of the Swebrick post-apocalyptic landscape! (I assume this belongs in this forum...?) More modules and exhibitions to come.
  2. This is a counter to Kai NRG's build: link LittleJohn countered Garmadon's build here: link The design was based off of JKBrickwork's ballista and medieval ballista images. The ballista uses only official LEGO parts. Two twisted 'fishing pole' strings are what gives the ballista its shooting capability. The Ulander's fiery darts were proving rather devastating, punching a hole in the outer wall of Ras-el-akhen. But with each shot their ballista grew drier and more flammable, until as one of them lit the bolt for the next shot, the ballista burst into flame: Video: It shoots 18 inches, not counting the distance the bolt slides after it hits the ground . Otherwise, about 2 feet. I put K12 as the location in the title, to mirror Kai's post. I'm not sure if the attack was moved to a different location, as Ska has it listed for H5 in the guerrilla thread. If you see something out of order per the challenge rules, please let me know. C&C welcome
  3. This is my first module for my collab with LittleJohn. It was an interesting change to try a middle eastern style gatehouse, and I'm quite pleased with the result. The gates actually work and there's a full interior. Katoren's main gatehouse receives much traffic from vendors, nobles, and visitors heading into the city. Gates closed: There are more pictures here: link C&C welcome, and there's more of Katoren to come
  4. My Phase 1 build for the Inn category in AoM. I hadn't done a snow scene in a while, so I built this quick build for fun. The icy water technique was inspired by Simon S. Mulled cider is a popular drink in Mitgardia, and it is often delivered in barrels via horse drawn carts or wagons. There are a few more pictures here: link C&C welcome
  5. Location: A05-Yallorn II Tags: Vehicle, Exploration Job: Driver Log Update: After operating the TR-2 Mining Rig, it was a welcome change to use the T-4 Buggy to scout ahead on planet A05. The individual front and rear suspension soak up even Yallorn II's mountainous terrain, and it's one of the fastest vehicles I've driven. The scouting expedition itself was mostly uneventful, I ran across a few small aliens, but they scampered off quickly. I made sure to keep an eye on them though, as harmless looking creatures often turn out to be anything but that. The T-4 Buggy features working suspension, and the ability to swap out modules for different missions. Weapons module for scouting missions: Cargo module: Secondary cockpit module: I tried to capture a rocky moss covered look to represent Yallorn II's mountainous landscape. C&C welcome
  6. Countless citizens of Kaliphlin lost their homes, belongings, and even loved ones during the drawn out war between the High Council, Desert King, and Ulandus. Many chose to take what little they had left and travel with makeshift caravans, to try and find a haven from the constant strife, whether within Kaliphlin or another guild: C&C welcome
  7. Location: A06-Guinevere Tags: Exploration Job: Explorer My next mission for M.A.N.T.I.S. was to scout out Guinevere. I was told I would love it there, that it would be like a vacation... Suffice it to say, it's not my definition of a good spot to vacation, unless you like boiling lava and rock. Needless to say, I wasn't impressed, besides, the smell of sulfur did nothing to help my feelings of nausea. I grabbed a few samples of rock, (I'm sure the scientists back at HQ would have liked some of the black stuff, but I was going anywhere near that lava) and set off to try and find a part of Guinevere that wasn't 1000 degrees... More pics can be seen here: Link As always, C&C very welcome
  8. Location: D02, Barker's Folly Tags: Exploration It's hard not to be impressed by the natural beauty of this asteroid belt, all the awesomnium ripe for the picking doesn't hurt either... I don't do many all LEGO scenes, usually opting for a complete 'model' rather than an immersive picture, so this was rather fun
  9. Spencer's Diary, 21 Junali, 3815 Midsummer's Day on old Terra. Funny, really, it's a fairly meaningless concept when you find yourself on a new planet every week, each with its own unique year and idiosyncratic seasons. But somehow this date always seems like a marker to me, a time to reflect on what has gone before and whether our path is taking us where we set out to be, or has somehow strayed into stranger regions than we thought possible. Some years this date was found me in harsh, hostile places - that lava moon back in the outer rim, or taking cover from solar flares on New Mercury. On days like that, you do wonder how you ended up there! But other times, just sometimes, you find yourself in a place of breathtaking beauty. This year's like that; at least from my initial approach, Arium Major seems like an unspoilt paradise. The cliffs that ring the globe where the ocean meets the polar continents almost looks like somethıng from Old Terra, before the wars and the environmental reconditioning. All in all, perhaps I am in the right place...
  10. Location: A06-Guinevere Tags: Vehicle, Building Job: Driver Start Log: I wasn't surprised to be stationed on A06, after MANTIS' successful infiltration of the planet, I knew that drivers would be needed to help gather gold. Some MANTIS engineers had quickly erected processing plants to separate the gold from rock. My task was to use the T-7 dumptruck to haul loads of gold to transport ships that then delivered it back to MANTIS headquarters. This mission I even had a co-pilot, Massi Editoro, who would man the truck's cannon in case of attack. MANTIS didn't take any chances when hauling gold, even dumptrucks received serious firepower. All in all, a pretty fun job, but the desert heat seemed to mess with my stomach... T-7 Dumptruck: Maintenance rover: The processing plant and dump truck actually work!
  11. Location: A06-Guinevere Tags: Exploration My first sight of Guinevere was of its rolling sand dunes. There appears to be rock formations protruding out of the sand, I'll have to take a closer look at them. This was a fun build, getting the rocks to stick out of the sand at an angle was a bit of a challenge, but I think it turned out pretty well. C&C very welcome
  12. Location: Lesser Drigo F02 Tags: Vehicle, Landscape, Piracy Job: Driver Start Log: After MANTIS' domination of A06, I was given a new highly classified mission along with Scorpio Starstriker, and Double D. Our job was to infiltrate F02, and deal as much damage as possible to Octan operations, whether that be through sabotage, piracy, or spying. We were dropped off on the planet with the new MT-X all terrain truck. After dropping the other two operatives off, I headed towards a canyon that Octan had built a base in. A few Octan robots seemed busy taking inventory of some supplies, I was a little surprised to see that the rumors of Octan robots doing all the work, were actually correct: Seeing as they were unarmed, I decided I could use a diplomatic approach: : You are not authorized to be in this space Hard at work, I see. Don't you guys ever get to do anything fun? I do not understand. Well all you guys get to do is move supplies, mine, and do physical labor. Haven't you ever wanted to drive a vehicle? Or actually get to carry a weapon? With MANTIS, I get to drive things like that sweet truck... We are not authorized to drive vehicles. Join MANTIS and you could be, we get to do all the fun stuff. You could even go into special ops if you wanted. That does sound more important than moving crates. We're in! Alright! We might as well take some of these supplies with us though, I'll back the truck up: Now hop in, and I'll show you what this truck can do! After convincing the bots to join MANTIS, I headed for the rendezvous point to pick up Double D and Scorpio. ... More pictures of the build: And the blast doors actually work! See them in action on (embedding it wasn't working properly for some reason )And just for fun, a group picture of my MANTIS vehicles thus far:
  13. I built this for the "Taste the Rainbow" contest on Classic-Castle, and figured it worked well for a Kaliphlin scene too. The idea of the contest is to build a castle mainly out of a bright color. I was originally going to build a red/dark bley or bley 'brick' castle. But decided that there had been plenty of those done before. So instead I used blue/tan and tried to capture more of a middle eastern feel. It was a bigger challenge than I expected, particularly because I'm not familiar with the pieces I have to use in blue and tan. I'm not that happy with how the castle turned out, but I do really like the landscape. As always there's a full interior. Credit for the cobble stone design goes to Wat_Tambor. I'd like to receive UoP credit for: life in Kaliphlin [Anthropology], and desert [Geology]= 2 credits Lord Nordan (Glorfindel's father) meets with a Kaliphlin noble to discuss a trade agreement... There are a few more pictures here: link C&C welcome
  14. I'd like to receive UoP credit for flowers and dense foliage landscaping [Landscape Design] = 1 credit. The second installment in the collab between myself and Infernum. Many grotesque happenings at the Mitgardia/Nocturnus border have been reported. Trying to discover what is going on, two Mitgardian soldiers were sent to one of many Mitgardian watchtowers at the border... "Look! The tower has been destroyed!" cried one of the soldiers as they came into view of what used to be a strong stone and wood tower. "And a Mitgardian soldier's helmet left speared on our flag," growled the other. "Come, we must report this to Chorian immediately," and with that the two soldiers set off for Valholl... I used a different camera for these pictures, so no more blurry sections from a scratched lens. All C&C welcome
  15. This was built by my 12 year old brother. Kendrick and Basil continue their journey and come upon a small farm in the countryside. They pay the farmers a visit and plan to spend a few days working at the farm in return for food and lodging. More pictures can be seen here: link He would appreciate any C&C
  16. Built by my 12 year old brother. Kendrick and Basil were walking by a river, Basil was jumping around on the banks as he always does, while Kendrick enjoyed the lovely scenery. Then Basil slipped off the bank and fell into the river... My brother would appreciate any C&C. The next installment in the Kendrick Chronicles will be up soon
  17. This MOC was built by my 12 year old brother. After Kendrick pulled Basil out of the river, he made a campfire for them to warm up (or in Basil's case, dry off) around: My brother would appreciate any comments, and especially suggestions for the build
  18. Hello everyone, I started with a landscape 3 months ago. The landscape is 2 by 5 large plates (48x48) big. I wanted to create a landscape that includes every ninja set I possess. The landscape will be exposed next month in a shop in my hometown Hoorn. It is in the Netherlands. The link to the pictures. http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=541308 There are quite a lot pictures. My first MOC I post on eurobricks. Sander P.S. I cannot upload any files. Files are too big.
  19. Continuing the collab between myself and MKJoshA. I wanted to try another Norse style wooden building, and decided to do a longhouse with belltower. This was my first time using this wall design (which is SNOT tile paneling in between 2x2 round pillars), and I'm quite happy with the effect. As always there's a full interior. After the rather unsuccessful first attempt to try and convince the Great Elk clan and the people of Teridyan to work together during their recent food shortage, Wyndor and Glorfindel traveled to the Longhouse of the Great Elk Clan for one more try. They were still unable to convince the Clan to try and help, and were just preparing to leave the hall when a clansman rushed in. "Sound the bell! There's a dragon attacking the village," he gasped. The men quickly seized their weapons and rushed outside to find a medium sized Frost Dragon approaching the hall itself. Two Teridyan soldiers who had been passing through the village were trying to hold the beast off, but one had already succumbed to its icy breath: The dragon put up a fierce struggle, but the clansmen, Glorfindel, and Wyndor were able to kill it without losing any men. Though, the soldier who had been struck by the beast's breath lost the arm holding his shield to frostbite. Wyndor was first to speak after the dragon finally collapsed, "Well Dain, what do you think now? These Teridyan soldiers just risked their lives to defend your village and people. Surely the Clan can continue to help supply food for the city." "I suppose we might be able to give them a hand, " Dain replied gruffly. "But how will we get enough food for our own village and Teridyan?" "Perhaps you could train some of the men from Teridyan how to hunt and trap," Glorfindel suggested. "Or organize a trade route with some of the cities or clans less affected by this famine. Between Teridyan and the Clan you have many able bodied men to work with, I'm sure something could be arranged." More pictures of the build: Without figs C&C welcome
  20. Mark of Falworth trudged through the plains of Dreadmoor. His friends had been caught and brutally killed by his cruel enemies. Mark had barely escaped alive, and these traumatic last few days had left him very shaken. But still, he pressed on! He would reach the mysterious destination... Mark scanned the skies with a wary gaze. The dragon might still be after him, and a large open plain is not the best place to fight a huge aerial beast... Mark's well-trained ears soon picked up a distant sound... It roared like thunder, yet it never stopped. Curious as to what could be causing the noises, Mark clambered up the next hill... Mark gasped in horror at the terrible sight! A gargantuan horde of loathsome, despicable OUTLAWS! But what was worse was that the colors and emblems of the evil tyrant Galainir were distributed widely among them! This enormous pack of rogues was in the employ of the false Queen! They were heading North as Mark was heading South! They must be on a destructive route to Loreos and the rest of Roawia! Mark then realized they weren't heading due North, they were heading straight towards HIM! Yes, Mark had been spotted as soon as he had espied them... Quite adverse to fighting alone what must be upwards of ten thousand men, Mark looked round for some advantage or means of escape. But there was no tree or rock or anything whatsoever to hide in or among. He could run, but the lighter equipped brigands could outdistance him by paces... In short, Mark was Doooomed! Mark resolved then and there to fight to the bitter end. He had nothing to lose! He would give his contemptible adversaries a battle to remember forever! With a broad smile on his face and his trusty sword raised high, he burst forth with his nation's famous war-cry- FOR THE GLORY OF LOREOS!!! (LCC) The End... by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC) The End... by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC) The End... by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PART 2 2When we last left Mark of Falworth, he was facing off against a horde of loathsome Outlaws! The first warriors who came within reach of Mark's sword were speedily cut down. Mark charged furiously into the great mass of men! Mark slashed and chopped and parried and stabbed in an uncontrollable surge of adrenaline and rage! After a dozen had fallen before his sword, the Outlaws paused in sheer disbelief. Fighting 12 opponents at a time, he still drove them back and held his own! The respite was momentary, as the Outlaws were burning for vengeance against years of disastrous crusades (Some instigated by Mark). More and more fell, and Mark was thought to have fallen dead more then once, but then he would erupt from a pile of struggling bandits and rain down his deadly blows faster then ever! For 7 long hours the carnage raged, and nigh a hundred Outlaws had died trying to bring down the knight of the everlasting smile and perfect hair (which still remained perfect despite the intense action). But even the bravest cannot fight beyond his own strength, and each wave of opponents was getting harder and harder for Mark to drive back... The Outlaws gathered together shoulder to shoulder for a final rush towards their target. Their war-cries grew stronger as Mark's strength faded. But just before they could deliver the death blows, a tremendous, eardrum-bursting roar shook the entire battlefield! Every warrior stopped and looked to the heavens from whence the rumble came. Lo and behold, a colossal black creature descended on the mass of men. Fangs glistening, enormous wings spreading forth in terrible glory. It was none other then the fearsome dragon Cyricus the Mighty! The great host of Outlaws fled like mice before a lion. The Dragon landed with immense impact, feet away from the exhausted Mark. He had no energy left to run, or even to raise his weapon. His voice had long since dissipated. He looked straight into the jaws of death, and smiled. At last his time had come. The massive claws and teeth shrieked towards him as he fell senseless to the ground... (LCC)The End... (Part 2) by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC)The End... (Part 2) by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr (LCC)The End... (Part 2) by Mark of Falworth, on Flickr To be Continued... Next year! So this was a fun MOC to make. I really wanted to try out a cliffhanger in a story MOC. For those who don't know what's going on, This is part of a continuing series featuring my LCC character "Mark of Falworth" Oh, and the brown leaves are from Altbricks.com Thanks for viewing and have a great day!
  21. Built by my 11 year old brother. Kendrick, Basil, and his companions are traveling on a remote and rather narrow path. Little do they realize the danger around them: Suddenly they are ambushed by bandits: Kendrick tries to defend himself, but Basil runs off: Meanwhile one of the bandits grabs the horses reins and another holds Kendrick's friends at bow point: Kendrick is quickly overpowered by the villian: Almost before they realized what had happened, Kendrick and his companions were being marched off by the bandits: One of the scoundrels drove off with the wagon and horses: to be continued... He would greatly appreciate any C&C, thanks for looking
  22. Built for Global Challenge VI in the Lands of Classic Castle. This is for the "Unrestricted" Category. My main goals for this build were: to experiment with using dark green 1x1 bricks for the landscape, using bley 1x2 grill bricks for texturing the castle walls, and to create a 'real' castle feel with the build. The castle is fairly simple, but I think it is the most realistic looking castle I've built yet. As always there is a full interior, this time accesible by a hinging wall. Thenwell Castle is a small castle in southern Lenfald, and one of the few castles not currently under the "Queen's" control. Lord Thenwell has been amassing weapons and armor to be ready for the revolt. Pepin helps with the stockpiling. More pictures here: link Any comments/criticism appreciated
  23. My Phase 2 build for the Farm category in AoM. This landscape was a nice change from all my recent snowscapes. A sheepfold is a common sight in the southern regions of Mitgardia. They provide protection from the weather, wild animals, and thieves, usually they consist of a palisade with a lean-to shelter: More pictures: link C&C welcome
  24. This is my Phase 1 build for the Farm category in AoM. A Mitgardian shepherd relaxes as he watches his sheep graze... C&C welcome
  25. My build for Phase 2 of the Wall category in AoM. I experimented with using only SNOT tiles for the wall texturing and making a machicolation (the 'false' tower). As Daydelon grew, the wooden palisade was taken down and replaced by a stone wall with wooden walkways. More houses were built and many farms were started just outside the town: All C&C appreciated
