  4. Very nice build here! I've been considering making a parking garage myself, but as you say the ramp issue is a rough one. Almost need to make it with a larger base, but obviously that would eliminate your entry in this contest. Excellent work though. Also when initially seeing it I thought it was a category 2 entry. As the above mod mentioned you might consider switching. I think you'll have better odds and more fitting competition this way.
  5. Thanks for sharing and spreading the word. Yes, the roof is pretty amazing (even if I do say so myself). If you get the chance to build it I think you'd agree. Of course it was the hardest part to design which is why the model took so long to produce. I'd say I spent nearly 2 months trying to get it just right and as streamlined as I could. Very pleased with the result. Thanks to all for the comments thus far. FYI I now have the website updated and working so downloads can be ordered should anyone be interested. www.adeal4u.net/buy
  6. The color used is Sand Blue. Not sure the parts used would all be available in Medium Blue. While the "Jewellery" spelling may be more common, both are acceptable. Since I did not have the room for the longer version I used "Jewelry" instead. As for the rest of the comments, thanks for both the likes and improvement suggestions. Always looking for ways to get better in my designs.
  7. Thank for the comments. What "white overhang section" do you speak of? There are several of these is various styles so I'm not sure what you mean. Always good to get feedback so I can either tweak it or keep the knowledge/idea for next build.
  8. Thank you. The roof was a challenge to build like this and required many new (crazy?) SNOT techniques. I always wanted to use the cheese slopes for a shingled roof look and finally got my chance. That and I wanted to keep the coned roof section rounded all the way unlike Green Grocer. Thanks. Appreciate the comments. There are lots of good models already and I'm sure there are more to come, so I'll need it.
  9. B-OM-22B Finished at last! Here's my newest modular called "Jewelry Store." As it was in the final stages of production when the contest came up I figured why not get it done, enter, and share for all to see. As required it has not been posted anywhere before, but was just added to Flickr (per allowance in the rules) where the full view of photos and descriptions are available at the link below. "Jewelry Store" Flickr stream. In addition if you'd like to own it you can purchase instructions for my models on my website (This one to be added shortly). See my signature at the bottom of this post for the website link. And now for a few photos...
  10. I'm over it now. Was mostly just the initial change in light of passed missed contests, but I do agree having more good entries is always fun. Looking forward to entering though I'll probably wait a bit just to not be the first. BTW, is there a way to find past entries? So far I cannot find anything....and this thread can even be difficult.
  11. I agree, and have been refining my model per the clarifications. However I would like to know more specifics, or at least know the rules are pretty much solid, as I've never seen any contest so loosely outlined and prone to changes before. As I said, clarification is great though and helps everyone know what to expect/follow. The thing that irks me most is the new members getting in on this when the reason I joined the site in the first place was a similar contest which I was banned from since I was not a member at the time it began. I learned my lesson there and joined for next time (and in the meantime have used the site more than otherwise), so this aspect changing in the middle of a contest I can finally enter I guess just rubs me wrong since it was used previously to keep me out of the field of eligible entrants. It is one thing to start an open contest, but anther to change this major classification requirement a quarter of the way through the entry period. Granted EuroBricks can do as they please, but I just wanted to express my view in light of last time I wanted to enter and was not allowed per the posted rules. Also, I'm not sure what the "vote" ability only for prior members has to do with this as it is not mentioned in the rules post...?
  12. Quick question. When will the prizes be announced? Seems pointless to enter (or at least add your entry) when nearly 1 month into the contest there are no prizes listed. I mean why enter before you know what you are looking at or there is really an award to make it worth while and fun to try your hand at? I'm about ready to enter a model, but do not want to do so until the prizes are announced and I see the contest is fully thought out. One other thought/concern is with the rules changing seemingly quite a bit (clarification is good though). To some degree this is making it an uneven playing field. In particular I refer to new members now being allowed to enter when in the past this was not the case. This would seem to defeat the purpose of the contests being used to reward (and promote) member activity and also so non-members (lurkers) will join now so they are ready for any upcoming contest such as this one. Instead the new allowance may very well get members to joins just for a certain contest and do nothing more, thus not being a real "member" of the community just a "prize seeker" so to speak. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for great entries and new members, but not when the original rules were stated to allow only past members. To change it to allow others into the previously defined contest is unfair to anyone who already entered or was working on their entry. Just my two cents on the new post. Looking forward to the awards being announced so I can post my model. P.S. Is there an easy way to find all the currently entered models?
  13. ...designing modulars!

  14. Thanks. Many have mentioned the busy aspect, but that was part of the intent. I'm sure LEGO would modify it some though as is the cost is not really to bad. You can get all parts far less than any older modular and on par with current ones. Should make for a LEGO produced set of about the save value/price and part count.
  15. If you could change it to "Corner Candy Modular Building MOC" that would be great plus a little more descriptive. Thanks!
