I'm not entirely sure what that is - if it's an ordinary wireless broadband connection then yes, we have one?! Holly

I totally disagree and have been thinking about how I can possibly justify buying this all day today! Unfortunately I've bought way too much LSW lately - including an unboxed AT-AT for

Thanks for the further advice (especially that list of Pokemon games). I'll go for one (or maybe two) of those that are/will be out at Christmas (he's young and certainly doesn't mind "spin-off games") and he can save up for Diamond or Pearl when they come out (he has a birthday in April so that will be about right). Just out of interest, when you play GBA games on the DS what happend with the second screen? Is it all on one screen like the GBA? Cheers Julie

LOL - my son will be glad I'm getting advice from you :-P Holly

Thanks you two - fast advice indeed! The only problem is, if I get him one, I'll probably want one as well (when he got his GBA SP a couple of years ago I ended up being so impressed I bought one for myself as well ;-) ). Which reminds me - another question - can you link up with other DS consoles like you can with the SP? That's something my son and his friends do a lot. Cheers Holly

Perhaps everyone here who is unhappy with the new layout should also email them? It might at least get them thinking..... Holly

I don't know anyone who has a NDS so I thought someone here might be able to help me - my son wants one for Christmas and I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not! Firstly what's the difference between the DS and the DS Lite - is there any apart from the obvious?! Can you play GBA games on the DS? Also are the cartridges for the two exactly the same size (ie will DS game cartridges fit GBA cartridge cases when not in use)??? And finally - if you've already got a GBA SP is it worth having a DS? Is it a lot better??? My son is Pokemon fan and I've already spotted that there are several Pokemon games only available on DS - are there any other reasons for getting him one for Christmas??? Many thanks in advance for any info ;-) Holly

Thanks you two - it's helped a lot :-) It means that, to me, the

Well I'm glad it's been revived (if I'm allowed to say that) as I've just got my first close up view of the elusive Obi-Wan starfighter that my son has been going on (and on and on) about since he saw it on ebay. I was horrified to learn it's so hard to find - and even more horrified to see the only UK ebay seller with them available was asking

I've just been browsing the site (and adding some stuff to my wish list!) and I noticed the sandcrawler, clone turbo tank and droid tri-fighter have all disappeared since I last looked. I suppose I'm quite lucky in that I got the CTT for my birthday in September and have the sandcrawler stashed away for my son for Christmas. It's quite annoying not knowing when items are going to be discontinued though - I had both in my basket for ages before buying them (dithering about whehther I had enough cash or not) and could have easily missed out. Thanks - I'm glad I didn't go for them at $30 plus $9 shipping to the UK. I knew they must be official 'cos the Yoda one is on S@H (as of today I think). I'll look at Legoland this weekend. One more question - are the minifigs on these keychains the same as ordinary minifigs??? Cheers Holly PS ANYONE heard anything about a Han Solo keychain? What I read was that they were being given away with the LSWII game in the USA.

I saw these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Star-Wars-NEW-LEGO-C...1QQcmdZViewItem ....and being an avid keychain fan I was tempted - I didn't go for them 'cos the Yoda one is on the newly updated S@H (just the Yoda one though) for

I saw the changes earlier today - I know what you mean about taking a while to adjust to it - I spent ages trying to get any of the pages to open for me until I realised that you have to click in a very specific spot to get them to open at all! Holly

eBay bad sellers? Custom ARC Troopers
Holly replied to Turaga of Force's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I don't know if these are dodgy or not - but they don't follow the same format as the hacked listings I saw (and fell for) a couple of weeks which all had several things in common: * Buy It Now only *24 hour listing (in order to minimise risk of real seller logging in and spotting they'd been hacked) * Hard to find, desirable MISB sets at lower than usual price *Paypal only (so no payment address needs to be supplied by the fake seller) *100% positve feedback seller Holly -
If I can figure out how to do it I'll definitely post some ;-) Holly

LOL - I wish!! I suppose I have bought quite a lot - but I'm just using the proceeds of one outgoing collection to fund a new one. And having serious fun doing it :-P Holly
-
No problem :-) If you do make it there and you see two women with small versions of Obi-Wan, a stormtrooper and two Darth Vaders, come and say hi!! Holly

Ravensburger have also teamed up with Playmobil to make quite a few things - jigsaw puzzles and games. In my experience the (pretty young) kids they are aimed at love them. Holly

Just to say that I no longer need the box - my seller has been utterly fantastic and has a second box which he is sending to me (flat packed this time!). I also built the set and nothing is missing so that was an unnecessary panic as well :-$. Holly
-
Thank you Sam89 - some hope at least! Megabloks do have the Pirates of the Carribbean licence - I've just come back from Disneyland Paris and those sets were everywhere :-/ Holly
-
I certainly agree with this - for once the sets at the smaller end of the range are top of my wants list (although my son is doing his boy thing and wants multiples of the droid and clone sets for his armies). I suspect we'll be buying them all. Holly

I'll be really disappointed if there are no more HP sets - I hadn't heard the rumours that there aren't going to be any more. The HP licence is mostly responsible for my renewed interest in Lego in general and I've spent the past couple of years collecting every single one of the sets from the first four movies - it didn't even occur to me that there wouldn't be any more (though, like most people, I was disappointed in the GOF offerings in comparison to the fantastic sets from the first three films). I've been daydreaming about which bits of OOTP Lego would immortalise in plastic. Oh dear..... Holly

Just to let any Star Wars fans who might be in the vicinity know, the National Space Centre (Leicester, England) is holding a Star Wars Weekend on the 4th and 5th November. http://www.spacecentre.co.uk/whatson/specialevents.htm I'm going with my sister - I'm trying to convince her to go dressed as Princess Leia (so I can be Queen Amidala!) but she's reluctant so it will probably be just the children going in costume! The Space centre is an interesting day out anyway but with the added bonus of Star Wars events and characters I suspect it will be excellent. They are also planning a Doctor Who event at Christmas. Just wondered if anyone who isn't into original boxes has a spare 7153 box (box only) in good condition that they'd like to part with for some waiting cash? Yet again, despite pleas to the seller to pack well, I've recieved what was a beautiful boxed set in a pitiful condition due to being wrapped in paper with no protective packing at all. This time it has burst open along two seams and there's a large hole in both the box and wrapping paper so I may also be missing pieces (will build it tonight to check :'-( ). I have emailed the seller and am awaiting their response but don't really want to return it (that's if they even offer a refund!) as it was a good price. I will, of course, pay for postage and all protective packaging - I'm in the Uk but have Paypal if you are not. I've checked bricklink and there's nothing. Many thanks Holly

Thanks gylman. I actually got my refund this morning - it only took 2 weeks which is impressive. Perhaps the fact that it was obvious fraud and there were many other "victims" helped the decision making process! Anyway lesson learned......:-/ Holly
