  1. ENGLISH REPLY VERSION Got my official reply back from lego yesterday. I posted my original letter in the SW forum under death star set. If anyone has already posted this I apologise. Looks to me that Lego Customer Sevices do a neat line in Cut/Paste and translate!! "Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the price increase of the Death Star, set 10188. This price increase reflects a decision made by the Shop@Home Team and is in line with other retailers. We appreciate that this is a significant increase and understand the frustration and disappointment that will be felt by all Star Wars fans. The Death Star is still a fantastic LEGO set which will enable fans to recreate the action and adventure from the Star Wars movies. Along with 24 mini figures and movie replicas of the Superlaser Control Room, Imperial Conference Chamber and the Tie Advance Hanger Bay, this is a truly magnificent set! Thank you for taking the time to let us know how you feel and we will pass on your comments to the team that have made this decision. Please rest assured that we take all our customer's comments very seriously and we never send automated replies.* We do hope that you continue to enjoy LEGO products and if we can be of any further help, please get in touch again." * (My Bold not lego) REALLY! The sentence in bold I find mildy amusing seeing as all the replies look fairly uniform.( English /Italian/ German/Huttese.) I notice that they never even bothered to answer any questions. Shame really I would have had more respect if they admitted they either priced it wrong or someone Donald Ducked it up! Anyway won't be spending £200 on this now..certainly won't be spending £275. Customer Services is a bit Oxymoronic...
  2. REF set 10188 The following is a copy of an email I have just sent off to legoshop@home. Feel free to cut /paste and adapt as necessary and send off to the TLG. Just thought I would share my feelings . I know I am not alone. "Hi there, Before I start please don't send an automated reply to me . Please take the time to read what I have to say and reply personally. As an AFOL an Star Wars enthusiast I thought Xmas had come early with the advent of the new 10188 set at £199.99 last week. I went online last night to look at it again and saw the astonishing increase in price of 38% to £275.00. I then phoned customer services who informed me that the new price was indeed correct and that had I ordered it last week then I would have got it at that. The girl on the phone informed me that she couldn't really explain why the price had jumped so much . (I got the impression she could but was either unwilling or too embarrased to say..) Lego - if myself and others had known the price would rocket we would have ordered.. Just check out the negative reaction this is having on forums at Rebelscum.com and Eurobricks.com to name but a few. People now will not buy an over-hiked set. All we ask is that you play fair.. If we had known of any increase I promise you would have had at least double your current orders for this piece.. Were you just gauging reaction to a set that all Sw fans have been screaming for and realised that you could get more money out of us? Or was it really a marketing ploy for one week - if so where was the harm in letting the public - your Customers- know? For 10 years I have collected SW lego and as a completist have spent more than I care to think on bricks ( Check my history if necessary). However I'm sure that i'm not alone in how I feel. Please Lego I appeal on behalf of all Lego SW fans take the price back down for at least a week and watch the pre-orders pile in. If nothing else Lego please explain why you can justify a price hike like this overnight. many thanks for reading and I look forward to your (non-automated) reply."
