I would like to join teh academy, too. Maybe it was better before I done my first review... -
Really yummi! Well done.

You are right. H is for Hannover. The Hannover Factory builds Utility vehicles like the Bulli. So the 'home' is there.

It is an easy scissor mechanism. Nothing really special. Works fine

So minimalistic. But it has many details Love it! Well Done!

Hi, here is my first review. More pictures and less words because my english isn't very well. In my childhood I collect VW modelcars in 1/43 scale. I had them all: Polo G40, Corrado VR6 and many busses. My dreamcars are still the T1 Samba and T3 Caravelle Carat. Over the years my collection moved to some boxes and now they are all gone. But now with the Lego T1 Camper Van a good looking model - in a larger scale - came back to my living (room)! I wanted it, but not to the release date. But my wife couldn't wait for it. Now here it is Set Name: VW T1 Camper Van Set Number: 10220 Release year: 2011 Pieces: 1332 Price: 99,99 Euro The Box Really heavy and feels mostly filled The content All the bags are unnumbered. Have I told that I don't linke stickers? Okay, there arn't many. But when they don't glued exactly it doesn't look nice. And this happens often (to me). Sample page from the instructions The Building of the Van The engine: Well designed. Looks like the Prototype The Chassis: The mounting for the flor First Bodyworks: It suggest what a huge model it is Engine Hood First Interieur The Interieur at the first level is finished The Drivers cabine and the mounting of the front More Interieur. I like the T-Shirt With Windows Bodyworks almost finished Mounted Pop Top Last Parts for the front Done! A view thru the open doors. Legos alms - The extra parts My wife was build this model. Her first big Set. It tooks about 5 hours to build. I must say that she is really a Rookie and she made some small breaks. There arn't many tricky passages. Here comment was "That looks so awesome!" and "Thats soooo cool!". So I can say that the model is very good. Summary: Design: 9/10 - Really well designed. Build: 8/10 - Some Sections are a bit tricky like the Pop Top when combining the Top on the mechanism with the fabric in there and some connections have a little stabilize problem. Parts: 8/10 - Don't ask me for speacial parts and colors... I mean that the most parts are very common. Price: 10/10 - IMHO a very good price for a Set with more than 1300 pieces Summary: 35/40 => 88%! I love it! It is a very good looking car and it is very close looking to the prototype. If you are a Bulli-Fan you MUST have it. It isn't a toy (some fragile parts like the roof at the front and the fabric at the Pop Top) - so there isn't any swooshability, biut it is really WOW. I hope that you will have so much fun while building like my wife. Aditional Pics Figures not included in Set 10220! :-P - Kai

I like the pipes on the tank. Well detailed! Thanks for sharing! -Kai

Yes, it is very clever technique. Whenn I plan in my mind, i will use the 1 stud wide pieces. For my loco I can place the Motor in the coaldepot on the back of the Cabine and can use a center axis to power the bogies... OT: But the model looks great, too. I am a modelrailroad enthusiast who build by japanese prototype (see Photo link)

Thank you for your comments The most parts for this moc came from the Brickmaster:Star Wars book. I need some more dark blue slope(?-the curved 3x1 parts). But I am not very firm with Bricklink. I must have a look. I have many ideas, but when you havent a good choise of bricks it isn't fun to experiment with some constructions. And I am not good in LDD or other CAD programs... With the EN cabine was my idea, too, but the cabin becomes higer as the EN one. Because of this there must be a splitted windows in the front. The Wheels and the axle is only temporary. I have no bricks with a hole (2x1 technic, ...), so I use this one to get the wheels in place and use it for the front, too. There I will late use light gray saber blades for it

Hi Can you add me to the List? I am a new collector. At the moment I own only the Ememerald Night ant the 4708 HP train, the Maersk Train comes next. The both PF Cargo trains Looks good, too, but I have only limited space in my Hobby Room :-/ -Kai

Hi, this is my first MOC, a Heavy narrow-gauge steam loco. At this time I haven't a huge brick storage, so I can't go on. Actual I haven't any ideas to go on with the interieur or the roof. What do you think? -Kai

...can...not... resist.... Sorry.... Welcome to EB

Thank you for the warm welcome! Yeah, many people doesn't know where and was Wolfsburg is :-) Volkswagen build good cars, but it is like in other regions where automobile factories are - you see every day the same cars. Anyway I like the new T1 Camper. My favorites are teh Scirocco I & II and the T3 as Doka or as Caravelle Carat. The 16 inch suspension with Syncro (4x4) is cool. I hope I see the japanese kid at the next weekend, because I do a small meeting for modelrail enthusiasts which are intressted in japanese trains. And we are happy when people say that it looks like the original. I also like UK trains, so the Emerald Night was a must have. In the moment I don't know if I motorize the set and buy more train set. PF dosn#T feel right for a modelrailroader. If someone will have a look at my Collection go => here

Hi, my name is Kai, I am 34 years old and live near Wolfsburg, Germany. My first contact to Lego was in the early 80th with classic space. This is my alltime favorite Lego theme. I like the grey/blue color scheme and the blue and yellow transparent windows. Than I was a teen. Lego was out, computer, Pen & Paper, LARP and other fantasy roleplay was it for me in this time. Than a girl cam into my life and makes me gifts like Dragon or Lion Knights. The few set went into a box as we moved into our new rooms. Long Lego-silence Two years ago I want to decorate my hobyroom (Modeltrain and Roleplay-Stuff) with some classic space. I was trying to rebuild the Sets I own. But I had only complete the my Castle Sets, but non of my classic space set. There was to many parts missing, damaged, painted, ... So I was looking for some sets in the 'electronic bay', but all sets I bought was big crap. I became angry and drove to the next toyshop and bought the Darth Vader Tie-Fighter. That was the beginning of my Lego Star Wars Collection... Then I miss the Castle Fantasy Sets - I must get some! After that the City Space and the Emerald Night. And the Winter Village. And ... My box with my bricks I gave to a japanese boy. He was adopted by a german/japanese couple - frinds of mine. All the papers wasn't finished, but they must move out of japan, because they was living in Sendai when the Tsunami was. He came to germany only with a small backpack with some clothes in. Hmm... that should be all about me at this moment. I hope you understand me, because my english isn't very well. I am looking forward to some nice Reviews, MOCs and MODs and conversations about them. - Kai

I vote for classic space for the same reason you other do - I grown up with them. My beginning was around 1982 with the Surface Transport. I like the grey/blue scheme, the white/blue with Light&Sound was okay, too, but it is a different feeling. Actually I have no sets and my efforts to buy some Sets at the 'electric bay' wasn't lucky. So I decide to buy new stuff for my collection. TLG, the time is right to bring back a space theme! - Kai
-
After reading your review I MUST GET ONE E-N! This is a great review which let me easy to decide 'that I need it' I would rate the set like you. Good job! Thank you -Kai

When TLG brings back Classic Space I want to see vehicles like this. Very well done. Looks clean and modern. *thumbsup* - Kai

Alien Conquest is a nice theme, but it doesn't excites me. I hope for a theme like Classic Space to explore the space. The City Space could be a link to the stars. <dream> A new Moonbase with Helium3-Factory... </dream> -Kai
