This link should probably go into the buy / sell area - but it is so specialised for people here that I will link in now. Lego Whistle Kit It is being sold on Ricardo.ch - which is mainly for Swiss people. Prices in CHF are about the same as USD. Im not affiliated to the seller in anyway shape or form.

What if you could have your 9V and PF, too?
roamingstop replied to fred67's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Small Traco Power Adapters? http://www.tracopower.com/ From memory no reverse polarity units... but never mind. Two dual wired bogeys would also help - they could be placed apart so current can always flow when train crosses a dead switch. Actually a trickle charger would somehow be ideal as then not all track would need to be expensive 9V stuff... -
The Duplo versions of the released models have also been pulled from this link now. However there was also a Jessie's Round Up which is not in normal lego - with a nice couple of better sized models.

Short question: Is there a general thread (or forum subthreads) where soon to be discontinued sets can be listed? E.g. the the past week the City Construction Crane 7632 went onto sale (for 10 days); then backorder and is now dropped from most of Europe. Simialrly the Combine Harvester 7636 is on sale in Europe - but still available. Someone else reported (elsewhere) that the UCS Millenium Falcon has also quietly disappeared from Europe... and wont be restocked. I realise a lot of things could be listed as conjecture and rumour - and there is no telling when the actual model will be dropped (it depends upon Lego Marketing / Product Management bods) or repeated in a new batch... but it could be helpful for those who wish to buy before it is too late. Or perhaps im blind... and they are tucked away somewhere.

Looks like the train, dump truck and others have been pulled from the link :( If anyone was quick enough they might have an early bargin... From memory the train was around $70 (max), trash compator around $50 and the Dump Truck also around $50 but listed as limited edition only. All had qualified for free shipping...

Actually they are listed as available now from Toys R Us site http://www.toysrus.com/family/index.jsp?categoryId=3778029

So that will be illionis then. (Palos Hills Metra Station) Im sure we will wait forever Lego-Freak - Switzerland is always slow and expensive!
-
Lego Website (Checkout) states that delays are occuring because of Ash Cloud - expected between 2-4 days but more news to be provided once available.

Agreed. How many MMV were there? I really like the style - reminds me of many old Swiss town centres.

Actually not sure where she would land - a few planes have been turned around and returned to their departure countries. Latest is everything in UK is shut down until 7:00 am friday. There will be a new update issued at 20:00 on thursday; with prognosis until 13:00 on friday. Depending upon weather, winds, and any futher explosions from the Volcanoe then it may - or may not - be cleared friday / weekend. Ive already heard of people taking Eurostar to Paris - but even their the two main airports will close at 18:00 thursday until friday. Northern Germany airspace is limited as is Holland... So it seems to be a good weekend to spend indoors building MOC's of volcanoes. Who will be first?
-
My other half landed just before 12:00 GMT (Heathrow) and is now on bus to Edinburgh (airport was already closed). All UK airspace is now completely closed until 6:00 on friday - good job Zurich -> Heathrow landed ok. Now its time to tune into BBC live coverage of a huge cloud of ash as it creeps over the UK. Listen to tweets and news updates every 5 minutes as the ash cloud moves another km or two... and another boffin is dredged up to explain how a Volcano works... and another Health advice that it wont be a problem for your health. Alas poor UK. Leaves on the line; ash in the air... Snow in January. What next? (irony level is high).

If you want to keep as much Lego as possible look out for Mindsensors and HiTechnic stuff - as well as the new Tetrix elements. They are compatible with NXT designs but do allow aluminium elements which can be integrated into normal Lego models. Not quite the true Lego route - but probably acceptable since they are all Lego registered / sanctioned.

So how many PoP and GE (or other) models were used in the development of your MOC? Obviously parts intensive but some really nice ideas... Thanks
-
I have no time to build but had thought up a couple of ideas in case others are interested... Obviously trailers to fit behind existing models. These could include * muck spreader (flat bed trailer with conveyer belt linked to wheels + clutch; rotating flail beam at back) * muck spreader (3/4 cylinder with rotating central flail beam) * hedge cutter on mechanical JCB type arm * rectangular hay bailer * cylinder hay bailer * crop / grass cutter / thresher like a mini harvester pulled behind tractor * seeder (mentioned above) * crop spray (with mechanical closing arms) * drilling rig - to place the fence posts * JCB type arms to lift hay bails on front / rear * Mini Tele-handler (actually nothing different from previous TLG models) More unusual mechanical vehicles often seen around the slopes of Switzerland * Mini-Tractor with raised center for grapes / vines * Tractor on tracks for all terrain / snow. Sometimes has flatbed section like a snow groomer * Dumper style articulated tractors * Large grass cutting mowers which are driven by hand * Portable conveyor belts * Large crop / cotton picking harvester

MOC: Model of German DB v200 Diesel Locomotive
roamingstop replied to train lover's topic in LEGO Train Tech
I think you mean the reply above Follow the links <underlined as here> and you will find the brickshelf pages from James; and then the files including the .MPD which specifies the bricks used. -
Some great colour schemes for Lego (Blue / Red) is the SBB (Switzerland) Cargo. http://images.google.ch/images?q=sbb+cargo...ved=0CA8QsAQwAA They have some real nice Blue / Red cargo shunters (small) which would fit a PF XL motor, Battery box and IR Receiver... Now a nice link I found http://www.railfaneurope.net/ - they have various photos of rolling stock... a nice resource?

Lego Architecture now in UK?
roamingstop replied to roamingstop's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Small ones - not really sure. AFOL's I suppose. Ive been eyeing the Freewater one for a while due to some nice building techniques and lots of tan parts (ok Tan House and GE are better generic sources). Hmm lets see what April's bonus brings. Oh wait a taj mahal. -
Says it all. http://shop.lego.com/ByTheme/Leaf.aspx?cn=627&d=70 Prices about 10% more expensive than in US. e.g. Fallingwater = 99$ or 75 GBP == $111 (with current exchange rate).
