hahahaah I love the lawn mower bit! Great job!

Either they took it down, or they sold out fast.

What I find... annoying... is that you can buy it from S@H in every country in the world except the US, Canada, and South Korea.

LDD WIP (Work In Progress)
efin replied to NecroViolator's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
I just finished a library I designed a while ago, inspired by an actual old library from my town. More pics and stuff over in this thread. -
I finally built it! Here's a shot with a wall removed (those are all the books I own currently... heh): And here's a shot of the library with its closest neighbors: Note to anyone wanting to try it out from the LDD file - all the black blocks are only placed so I could easily finish the roof and floor. You'll definitely want more for support, as the roof is very fragile without more blocks, also the floor won't be stable at all. Under the floor, I just used whatever color I had most of (yellow), but I think black looked best for when the roof is removed. I realize that the white corner posts are wobbly, thus leading to less-sturdy walls. I did this on purpose so that you could easily remove and replace any wall to get to the inside easily. One could easily do the standard single brick followed by corner brick for more sturdiness. Hope you like it as much as I do!

[KEY TOPIC] LDD feature requests

Higher resolution images in the printable instructions. Pretty pretty please! -
That. Is. Awesome.

I think you guys are all getting way too excited about the City Public Transport, which from that picture is obviously this:
-
This is super! I wish there were more useful little things like this out there.

haha You sound just like me (son's only 4). I'm definitely a semi-classic, semi-modern kind of guy. Maybe someday on the big detailed stuff... Oh yeah, and there's more than just that corner, too. I'm pretty sure the building is much bigger than the way it looks, but I was going for something that could sit well next to "regular" Lego buildings. I hope you can now! Maybe my server had a small burp or something, but I can see them fine. Thanks a bunch, guys! And thanks everyone for your comments!

Thanks! Here you go: Digital Designer file You will definitely want to change up the completely amateur hidden elements that hold up stuff like the floor. In the beginning, I really didn't think I was going to do much with it. Plus I was learning the ropes with the program and hadn't found the "Hide" button yet. hehe

Now that is really slick!

I found this old library by accident when looking at pics from my town. I'm pretty sure that it's because the image is a falsely-colored old B&W pic, but I immediately thought it looked like a cool Lego building. So I fired up LDD, and after much reworking this is what I came up with: Here it is with the roof off: And here are a couple with the rear wall hidden to show the interior: The bookshelf design is based on these cool ones I found over at BricksABillion, with some small modifications. I wish I could have used the legs like they did! Thanks for looking! EDIT: I built it! See post #12 for a couple more pics.

Wow, I love the designs in the first picture! Nice storefront and cafe, plus the color selection is great.

Wow. That is just dang cool. Loving it so far!

Thank you very much! The piano I made from modifying this MOCpages design (I just couldn't justify using tape... ), and the McDonald's was modified from this pre-modified version I scored on eBay. That one's based on this official one from '99, just in case you've never seen it. Thanks again!

haha Yeah, that doesn't bother me quite as much as the yellow vs white bars, but I'm at the stage where I just use what I have lying around and try to make it look decent. Thanks for your comment!

Hello there! This is my modification of the building in the Command Center set 7743. It was such a tiny building and the town my son and I have been building needed a police station, so I just built up around the original design. Hope you like it! Here is the view from the street. You can quickly see the only thing I'm not happy with, which is the different colored bars. I suppose I could just get rid of the yellow one, but I'd rather replace it with a white one later. Here we have a nice shot from above, where you can see the minimum-security outdoor cells. And locked up in the maximum-security cell is a mean dude plotting his escape. There are a couple more, along with the rest of our town-in-progress here! I would have included those other pics in this topic, but I had to resize them for the forum, and uploading from here at work is kinda sorta broken. Well, it's pretty wonky, anyway...

I think your son might be able to tell you that even though the Emerald Night is much sleeker and powerful, the cargo train is a Very Useful Engine™!
