A couple of items for kmart. Kmart burwood had racers/small creator stuff, and staff were clearing spaces for new stock. Also, the exclusive bank was reduced to $49 which I do not think has been mentioned here. They had quite a big supply range of the reduced ninjago/pirate stuff . E.g more than 12 earth dragon for $29. -

Went to the Lego exhibition at Fed square on the weekend. The art was nice ( though I have to admit I spend more time looking at the MUG MOCs:)) The sign said sold out but they had tickets ( apparently they often release new tickets near the end of a session). Also, the lego shop was a bit sad. They had the standard range at RRP (at least the few I looked at), and a couple of T-Shirts..... -

I do not think this has been reported before but some of the architecture sets ( e.g. Rockafeller centre, Guggenhein, and Seattle space needle) are available at the National Gallery Victoria Shop on St Kilda Road. -
Though we do not see these sets today, Lego does provide us with a basic alternative e.g. 5899 House Building Set, 6194 My Lego town. A poor alternative, but with a bit of imagination ........ Other house options might be some of the licensed sets e.g. 4728 Escape from privet drive

cutting through the bi-monthly rants about aussie price rip-off:) S@H now has the marina stuff for us.... And some specials around ninja-go ( I would recommend people sign up for the VIP newsletter - you find out stuff fairly early regarding S@H) And yes the price on the wharf set is 'orrible, the smaller sets are not too bad. -

A second point:- with TRU in USA having marina and the new castle stuff hopefully we should soon? Any ideas when? And a third point:- what happened to pharoas quest stuff? -

An update - kmart (Vic - burwood hwy) has the new SW battlepacks in. They also have the ninjago starter pack and individuals (a real bargain at 15$ as opposed to 16$ @ target (Vic-forest hills)) And I saw parents buying the ninjago stuff - seemed that kids were already wanting specific ones. Sadly no reviews from me, I left them all alone at those prices...... The printing looked nice on the minfig tbh, BUT some cards, chinese plastic minfig and a couple of weapons for 15$.... *cough* Also in case people have not noticed most of the police sets (including the lovely bank/money transfer ) are on S@H which hopefully means we will see them soon. Also (in case people have not noticed [or posted previously ... and I missed it]) toyworld have 20-50% (hrmm or 25-50% memory fails me) off all stuff in store atm. So minimum discount is 20% for Lego. They had some of the Toy Story stuff at 50% (vic-forest hills) -

For those interested HP now in Victorian BigW ( melb/qv) freeing dobby 13.74, quidditch 27.67. Cheaper than target ( of course) but not quite 20% cheaper:( (though in my opinion 13.74 for 3 minifigs and a nice little collection of bricks ) is not bad vallue! Considering if it was SW it would be around 19:) -

The level of detail is simply stunning. Though the train is extremely well done, the station is what catches my eye. You can feel the bustle of the commuters looking forwards to getting home! -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3 discussion
alepto replied to Klaus-Dieter's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Do not think this has been explicitly asked and taking into account pre-lim piccies and all that... but is the Hula girl wearing an actual skirt i.e. not printed? Because that would be a fairly major change ? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As to my initial opinion ... 3 meh, rest good. I think this is pretty standard ratio of goodness for all the sets so far. Hopefuly quality continues to get better..... Hula - female, torso usable for a few moccy things(skirt?) chief - this is a good one Japanese warrior - very usable (need him to deal with all the ninjas!) pilot - meh, Another one????? fisherman- interesting beard, ugly rod (restrung with thinner thread might make it look better...) cyborg - meh, gun maybe - but could live without (same as squidtron!) snowboarder - moccy goodness racer - nice torso/hair.. but not something want more than 1 rapper- a couple would be useful, however already have boombox (in 8401 - not as nice but more "lego" - nonono opinion only - no flames please) elf- a nice figure for any castle/fantasy theme. Nice torso, shield (no comments on ears:)) sumo - i am thinking usable for beach scenes i.e. moc. Maybe new hair piece as well? AND with all those statues thinking of moc'cing the Oscars:) squidtron - whyyyyyyy, on second look- torso may be usable mummy - moccy goodness (vamps, Egypt sets next year, zombies, and now mummys ---- crypt mocs here we come) tennis player - the best? So useful for sports/city-scapes baseball player - nice, maybe fractionally better than tennis. All the bits, cap (printed?), bat, torso soo usable! gorilla - heck yeah, the heads will make nice masks for my bank robbers (along with the clowns). I am picturing the gang on scooters :) Though very much agree - a Chewbacca style torso covering would have been best. -

Chatting to the friendly (and knowledgeable staff)If memory served me correctly the minifigs 2 distributions are pretty stingy.... family house "soon".
