Lego Castle has been around a long time and given us a lot of factions. My question is What factions Make up the kingdoms of your lego world? In mine I have 7 Kingdoms the first is the Origional Lion King, the factions belonging to him are the Crusaders, and Black Knights. The second Is King Leo. His factions are the kindom 1 knights and the old classics from the Knights Procession The third is the new King with his crownies and the Black Falkons the Bat Lord has the Fright Knights, Bulls, and Dragon Knights Willa the Witchs' minions are the Trolls, and Skeletons To the east I have the Shogun with the grey sameria and ninja, and the emperor with the red and black ones. Of course most of my Kindoms are divided into feifs given to the knights with some knights being vassels to others. If there is participation in this thread I will go into more detail if you want.

I mix all the factions, about 30 years worth, the castle lands just get bigger as new factions are discovered.

There has been a lot of comparing of the old sets to the new sets so I am interested in knowing what all of your First (meaning the one you got first) and oldest (meaning the set that was released the earliest in your colection) castle sets are. 6077 Knight Procession was both my first set and the earliest relesed in my colection. I got them when I was really young probaly too young as they sat in their box untill I was older. I am very surprised that it survived my childhood intacted as I was those 6 knights went through many quests and wars (of course I had a good basic set and the police station that built many castles and such for them to defend and attack) and weren't reinforced untill much latter when I got the multi-pack that had the smugglers hayride in it then the hook was set.

Is the new Castle line making old ones obsolete?

The new fantacy age brought me out of a second mini dark age. At the time I had King Leo, His Knight from the joust set, and the Black Monarchs Ghost Knight. In my Lego KIngdom the knights were the kings leaders and each had 4 soldiers under them, Leos Knight 4 KK1 troops, and the BMG knight had 4 classic soldiers I think crusaders under him. Of course there was a ninga leader and the Fright Knights and a few Bulls with a couple of Black Falcons to fight them. Then I saw the new castle sets and picked up the joust, catapult, and crossbow sets and had a new Knight and unit of troops for Leo. Well since then thanks to ebay and a new interest all ranks have swelled A couple of new kings with vassles and knights and entered the kingdom that now has roving trolls and such, Its Lego after all the only limit is you imagination and supply of bricks and people. I have a few of several factions the largest each between 6 and 18 troops so the loyaties of the factions change depending on their aka my mood at the time. Oh and the new crowies look good with the Black falcons crusaders and classics. -
I came out of my Dark Age just at the end of Fright Knights and the beginning of Ninja. I have this set and really like it. I usually use the Ninjas as an eastern Kindom in my Lego Castle world. I wish there had been more bows in the theme though as sameria were even more proud of their skills with a bow then they were their great skill with the famous katana.

The paddles at the back on the side of a medevil ship were not for rowing but for stearing as it was before the rudder was invented. otherwise great review. I passed this one up when it was in the store but now wish I had it as it would work well with my sea serpent.

Those prices are in Euros, 2.99 euros is about $4.80 so they are about the same as the good knight and troll single fig sets. Any one know when these will be available, some say this month some say june.

These are great ideas. I would also like to see a tavern or inn set. Perhaps a knights on the march type set.

Other then some of the License themes (Star Wars , Indiana Jones, ect) Lego is a world of its own a place where a childs or AFOLs imagination is the limit. If you wan't scenes from the revolution there are lots of soldiers and figures from Pirates that would work, go ahead and build it. Oh and share picts I'd love to see what you come up with. OH and have you ever noticed that in the Lego original themes they never mention a county they are imperial ships in pirates, Crusaders, Black Falcons, Black knights, ect in Castle, Lego City in town.

I know what you mean by Lego sets being more specialised now, as a kid I had the first police station then later got a hospital and costal rescue base, with these and a very early basic set. I had a few small castle sets (Battle Dragon, Smugglers Hayride, Black Monarchs Ghost, and the Castle figure pack with 3 knights and 3 forest). and a couple of small space sets with these peices I built every thing from airplanes to ships to castles, houses, spaceships, whatever I felt like that day. recently I picked up a couple of the new castle sets, (the skelliton prison carrage and the tower attack. Now it could be my older brain has lost some of its creativity and imagination but I struggle to build anything other then the main model out of them. It could also be that I was to used to basic bricks and now have a hard time building around BURPS I beleive their called. The new Knights are very cool though.
