  1. Definitely a great set and a favorite of mine, a big time cannon lover. I keep getting more of them to add guns and crew for my Imperial Flagship. The local LEGO store still has plenty in stock, but not on sale yet. I plan on getting some more before they become scarce. They're not a bad deal even at list price.
  2. My top 3 would be: 1) The metallic shooting cannons 2) The Printed Shako 3) Captain/Admiral's torso I just love the cannons. And all in all, the Imperial Soldiers look real sharp from head to toe, with all the different faces and accessories, like the Shako.
  3. Man, that brings back memories. My brother and I were of the right age when this happened. We received the Colonial Viper and Cylon Raider for Christmas, both were the firing kind. We had so much fun with them. I tried to save these from the garage sales later but my mom still somehow got a hold of them, and they disappeared. I also remember the death and lawsuit in the news and how disappointed we were with the switch to non-shooting Boba Fett. My brother still got him for his birthday. BTW, I love the new shooting cannons in metallic ABS. Just bought 5 more Cannon Battle sets just for the cannons.
  4. I just picked up 2 of the Soldier's Arsenal at the local LEGO store. plus another Cannon Battle to add to the 4 I have already. These new additions were on sale in the bargain bin due to crushed boxes, priced at $2.50 US and $4.98 US respectively. It was all the Soldier's Arsenal they had left. Didn't see any Pirate Survival. I got them to help outfit and crew my new Imperial Flagship that I bought when they first became available this month. I have not seen any more in store since. I was hoping to get some more Soldier's Arsenal but am still looking for a reasonably priced source. I asked the store manager and she seems to think they might get another shipment of 8396 in, but she doesn't know when. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Anyone else know if these sets will be available any more this year?
  5. Ahoy all! This be me first post since joining Classic-Pirates yesterday. I just wanted to say hi and let you all know that I have been a Lego fan since I was a wee tot but this is the first time I have joined an online community for LEGOS. My son Henry and I love the new Pirates theme and he has all the 2009 sets now. We have fun building and battling all the time, with him always being the pirates and me the imperials, but I don't mind. He just got BBB for Christmas and we have already started modding it to add crows nest and larger foredeck and a small brig. Anyhow, as for the topic on hand I just bought the Imperial Flagship at the local Lego store in Discover Mills mall in Duluth GA. They had her prominently displayed in a covered case and I found 2 units on the shelf. I don't know if the they had more in storage in back. I used up all my LEGO VIP points to ease the burden on my wallet but of course earned more with this large purchase. I notice the rest of the Pirates line is almost gone from in-store stock except for some Kraken Attackin' and Cannon Battles. I did get 4 Cannon Battles so I can beef up the flagship's crew and arsenal. I was going to get some more Soldier's Arsenal sets too, but I guess I will have to get them somewhere else. Do you think the LEGO online store will restock them and other Pirates sets before they are discontinued? Or is this it now for Pirates stock?
