After 3 rebuilds I have all the rear functions working including rotating the crane, but I still have not got the front to work! I thought I had it when I tested it, but the front gears turn only when there is no resistance! Once I put the winch on, it won't turn at all! I guess I have one more blue grey gear on the wrong way around!

I've had a great time with this, the closest I've come to Technic building was my last Star Wars Sith Fury Class Interceptor, it had some frame pieces that were technic. I think I will need to redo most of the chassis anyways, I had "Different" parts left over, and in a couple of places I had to use longer beams since I didn't have the right size, all that measuring, counting holes, using the instruction 1X pictures, and I still messed up in more than a couple of places. I do have a set of Black Rims shipping from Germany, hopefully I'll have worked out the last of my errors by the time they arrive. Meanwhile It looks great and steers better than ever, and it's nice to put away the sorting containers and turn out all the extra lighting (I do not have the greatest work surface... my desk is mostly computer lol!)

First post, I've done a lot of lurking I too had that problem where the back wheels wouldn't reverse, so I rebuilt it what I thought was the correct way, now it rolls fine forward and reverse! BUT something went wrong during the build and I can't get the front and rear motor functions to work! The pump and crane work fine, but I can't use the winch or turn the crane I guess it's time for a rebuild from the ground up, but I think I need a break! My original build time was around 2 days, add on another 4 evenings for the first rebuild, I need to step away from this for a little while. Maybe when the missing bricks come in I'll start all over again. This is my first Technic set, I've only ever built Star Wars ships, and the VW Camper Van.
