Hi, I still remember times, when my parents bought "extra train cars" for me - one by one! - (birthday, xmas, ...). I can't really understand, why this is such a great problem for the lego group (even maerklin and so on manage it)! I don't want this, but I think some "chinese vendors" will solve the problem in the near future! Playing with trains ist always a hobby, where people (enthusiasts) want to expand their collection! I think, it is very seldom, that someone starts with a complete set, it is however buying "and enyoing" new pieces - one by one over years! So I hope, that Lego will release again single trains and single cars. Greetings Thomas

Hi, welcome! ... and don't forget to buy straight tracks! Many greetings from Bavaria! Thomas

Hi, very good to have a new "enthusiast" on train tech. I would just and simple say, buy whatever you can afford! I will in the near future add pf and "only" plastic track to my 9v track setup. I recommend some Lego Sets like 10183 and "my own train", even if its used. And, first of all, buy it soon and let the fire burn! Thomas

Hi Jamie, thanks for the quick answer! Thomas

Hi, just a question, what is ENLIGHTEN? Do they produce trains (compatibel to LEGO and 9v)? Where to buy? Thomas
-
So hello jamieberard, did I mount it the right way? And do you use sth like the "grey plate" to fix it? For me it seems the train runs much more smooth, but I use no PF at this time, I use 9v. Greetings Thomas

Hi, really great! I enjoyed this pictures and videos! Lego 9v is still alive! Thanks! Greetings Thomas -
Hi, I took the 1x1 tan brick from page 44 and mounted the chimney with a 2x1 technic "spare" part. Greetings, Thomas

Here are some pictures from my "test set up" down in the cellar, as promised last year! Tom Pictures:

Hi, I read your posting yesterday and this morning I tried to "manage" it. I have the "old" instructions, too. Here are some pictures: 1: 2: I added an additional grey plate to fix it (pic2)! Tom

Very impressive layout! Only one question your tracks are sometime very close-by. Do the trains touch in this section? Tom

Hello aawsum and missouri_bb63, of course this track layout is reality, down in my cellar! Its build with 9v tracks. I hope you do not expect too much, because the lego environment is a little bit poor, no houses, train stations and so on ("dont waste bricks and money for buildings" )! I will post some pictures as soon as possible (next week), because I am on holiday! I zipped the track layout, because I only had a few kilobytes left for attachments, so I will check how to manage it with brickshelf or so! Many greeting! Thomas
-
Hello, here is my actual track - zipped! Greetings Tom P.S.: I have only curved tracks left, but if you have some ideas how to improve the track, please tell me! track1.zip

Hello, my name is Thomas and I am a train fan for long years - starting with lego approximately in 1974, or so! I own a gauge 1, H0 and Z Maerklin train and of course LEGO - my favorite system! I live in Bavaria, between Munich and Nuremberg and my lego trains are: 4511, 4512, 4560, 4565, 10020, 10022, 10133, 10183, 10194, ... . I plan to install a permanent train layout, planned with track designer! Many greetings Thomas Sorry, don't know how to put in this nice little pictures!

Hello, I used smoke fluid (Trix) for my gauge 1 locomotives and I loved it, since I was aware of the small skull and the references on the bottle. For your health, I think, its not so good! So take care! I dont use it anymore. Greetings Thomas

Thats great! Thank you very much! Thomas

Hello, has anybody already "opened" the PF LiPo Accu or knows, where I can find some pictures of the electronic inside. I am especially interested in the loading logic, the size of the LiPo and the onboard spead regulator. Thanks in advance. Thomas

Hello, as Ashi Valkoinen wrote, I agree the Baureihe 423/433 train could be the "inspiration" for the new lego passenger train. Thanks Ashi! Has anybody an idea which original train lego had "in mind" modelling the yellow cargo train? I was looking at all of my Maerklin and Fleischmann catalogues and could not find a similar exemplar. Perhaps sth from the Netherlands, Austria or a private railway company? On the other hand I hope they will include the LiPo and the charger, so I can use it for the EN. By the way, does anybody know, if this LiPo box has a logic inside for the charging process (Load Balancer?), because if not, I fear, that the LiPo will not last long. Thomas

Hello, I am new here and "I play Lego about 35 years! - trains as well (blue was the beginning, now 9v, since 2004 again)" I just want to say, that for me, the red passenger train is more interesting than the yellow sth., because it looks like the actual trains, that are in use in Germany! I just have a question, if this sets are equipped with a battery box - is it the big size or similar to the 7,4v LiPo? Many greetingsfrom bavaria and merry christmas! Thomas
