Just spotted a new price guarantee on the latest TRU catalog: http://www.toysrus.com.au/w1/i2064303 "Spot a lower price and we'll beat it by 10%" Could be good for when Myer/Target have a 25% off sale and you can get an additional 10% off ? Though this would only be beneficial if the TRU set wasn't marked up by 10%+ in the first place!

The prices for Wolverine's Chopper Showdown and Loki's Cosmic Cube Escape have been hugely inflated in Australia if you compare it to previous Superman vs Power Armour Lex set. The Superman set from 4 months ago has 207 pieces, whereas Wolverines set has 199 pieces and Loki's is 181. All three sets include 3 minifigs and all 3 retail for US$19.99 in the US but in Australia the RRP is: Superman set: AU$39.95 Wolverine set: AU$49.95 Loki set: AU$49.95 What gives? Personally I'm going to wait for a Myer buy 2 get 1 free sale which works out because I can get a few of the $50 sets in 1 go but still not happy with the pricing.

Yeah I complained in June and they said they will send it - now it's August and nothing has arrived. This is really quite poor from Lego. I'll complain to them again.

Recommend you go in there armed with the RRP of the sets you are after - TRU have a nasty habit of jacking up Lego prices just before a big % off sale (plus their regular price is already higher than the Lego RRP!!).

Target Macquarie Park (NSW) had 6 boxes of them today up the front where you pay for items (not in the Lego toy section). Unfortunatly the 20% off Lego sale was finished so I had to pay full price. For that new Aussie blog on Lego: maybe a dedicated trade/buy/sell section by state would be good for trading this minifigs (I got a crash dummy that i want to get rid of)

I've noticed that at the back of every Kmart catalog there's a price promise guarantee ("if you find a cheaper price we'll match it"). Has anyone tried to use this at Kmart to price match the Target Lego prices during a 20% sale period?

Rang Lego Australia today and heard some disappointing news: Prince of Persia is not going to be available in stores until MAY :( Does anyone know of any online Lego retailers from the US that ship to Australia? The exchange rate is so high at the moment!

Upon opening my Toy Story: Army men on patrol set, I found that all four green heads had extremely faint facial printing (eyes, eyebrows, smile etc). Its like when you print black and white and the ink is running out so it comes out as grey. The face is very hard to see on my minifig heads, whereas the printing on the torso came out fine. Did anyone else experience this problem with their army men or is it just the way it is meant to be?

No worries, at those prices I'm buying my Toy Story and Star Wars sets at Big W now rather than to wait for a Kmart/Target sale off the RRP. As a side question - do you remember if you saw Agents 8967 Gold Tooths Getaway at Rockdale Big W? I'm trying to find this set but every store I've been to have sold out of them.

Just got back from Big W at Macquarie Park (Sydney, NSW). They have most of the Jan 2010 Star Wars and Toy Story sets in. Whats surprising is that the prices is a bit lower than the shop@home price. (about 10% - 15% cheaper!). Here is what I saw - please don't quote me on them as I don't remember the exact prices: Star Wars: 1. Battle packs (Imperial and Rebel): $18.87 2. Freeco Speeder: $43.87 3. Arc fighther: $87.88 4. Tie defender: can't remember Toy story: 1. Buzz and Woody to the rescue: $29.97 2. Construct a buzz: $37.87 I think 3. Woodys roundup: can't remember 4. Buzz's command ship: can't remember I took some photos of the prices but unfortunately my phone camera has poor resolution so I get the exact prices off the photos.

Hey Clone-trooper, whereabouts was the Venice Canal Chase 7197 set on clearance? I've been looking for one but so far no luck in Sydney @ Hurstville Kmart.

Has anyone else noticed that none of the boxing day stocktake sales catalogs from Kmart/Target/Myer/BigW feature sales on Lego? Perhaps it's a sign that new sets will be out soon after Christmas and they don't want to discount them.
