  1. I love how he looses his hair when he gets in the van!
  2. Am I right in thinking the old one was yellow? Looks very efficent with the grey flooring and red highlights! No room for any shenanigans or tom-foolery Got a van to go with it yet?
  3. For my first 2010 set, I'm planning on getting the new Lego Fire ship - 7207 I don't have a proper floating boat yet, so I'm quite excited. I love the look of the ship, but the extending arm on the back looks a bit off. After a couple of weeks I'm planning on taking it off and upgradeing it. But I don't really know what to, so I'm looking for some inspiration I was thinking turn the arm into a crane so that it can lower the raft into the water/pick it up when done. Or maybe get rid of the raft all together, put the arm right at the back, and use the space where the arm would go to make an extra big cabin. It would have the wheel house at the front, all the fire gear in the room at the back, and on top add another room/platform. Another idea was to replace the arm with a ladder/bridge mechanism. That way it can pull up along things on fire, lower the birdge, and the firemen can cross it to rescue who ever is on the other side. But I really dont know, so if anyone has any great ideas (and don't mind shareing them) I would love to hear them
  4. Hi everyone. I don't spend much time on here (or playing with lego) due to my Dissertation and spending every hour of every day in the Library reading things I don't understand. But today I gave my self the day off to add to my lego creations. A year ago I went to Lego Land Windsor with my g/f, first time I went there and I was gob-smacked, totaly blown off my feet by it all, and it inspired me to get my own lego out. I splashed out on the Lego 4997 Creator set of the Ferry. Great build, all three models are fantastic, but not big enough to accomodate mini-figs sadly :( The hovercraft is the one on the left. I dismantled my Ferry and built the hovercraft, but I made the crew compartment alot bigger, so it could house the driver and navigator. This is the original Hovercraft And here is the bigger cockpit. Also, the top comes off to allow access to the cargo bay. Ramps deploy to allow front/rear entrace. At the moment only small cars can get in, tomorrow I will hopefully be adding a few extra rows to the base, giving it a much higher clearence to allow some of the moden cars in to it. Also thinking of maybe adding a few chairs and tables at the side so passengers can sit down and have some refreshments in transit. I wish I had more lego so I could build the plane/ferry and upgrade them to Mini-fig scale as well. With a little work, all 3 would make brilliant additions to any lego city.

    City 2010

Hi guys. There is a photo of Lego 3221 - "Lego Truck" on Google Images - first photo that comes up. Its marked with confidential though so I won't post it, but if you're curious then have a look. Its like an 18-wheeler. Looks pretty awesome. P.S. If I shouldn't have even posted this then please delete it - sorry! Edit: Also found this photo but with no confidential marker on the Web search. http://lego.wikia.com/wiki/File:3221-PublicPreview.jpg
  6. Next to the post office, that little car looks fantastic!
  7. Great van, and that sliding door is brilliant! Where did that idea come from? (If you dont mind me asking)
  8. I think thats a great conversion you have going on there. I would add a few more police markers on the side, just to enforce its position, but it still looks great. Especially how it opens up, there is almost no limit to what you can include there. It could also double up as another prisoner transport.
  9. INDEXED The massive pile of lego in the middle of my floor is slowly starting to take shape into all my old sets. One of which was the Gas n Go flyer. I think this was my 2nd ever lego set, back in the day. Sadly, I have lost my pilot Minifig. He was awesome, black vest top, yellow arms and shades. Also lost the stickers from the Octan Tanker :( So, I shall carry on without... Name: Gas 'N' Go Flyer Set: 6341 Theme: System pieces: 106 Minifigs: 2 Price: No idea sorry The front of the box is brilliant. It shows the plane and the tanker, as well as an outline of an Air Port in the back ground. First Impression is this is perfect for anyone with a large number of planes, an air port, or someome who is starting one. The tanker is a great little extra that helps an air port fill up all the empty space. A lot of other plane sets from around then were just the plane. I do not have an image of the back of the box I'm afraid, but I'm sure it was equally as good. With the classic "boat or plane" hull you could easily make a speed boat, or a helicopter, and a small trike. Maybe even a bi-plane? The build is very straight forward. The only big piece is the cockpit, which personaly I really like. I know its not very realistic, but it allows you to see into the cockpit very clearly. There is a very good collection of bricks. two medium wings that can be used for any plane, two tail fins, 4 pillar supports, a properller, two hull pieces with a front end as well. I think the plane looks great. Its very different to the regualr planes you see, looks more like a micro-light than a regualr prop-plane. It also has a camera on the side to record the flight, so even if you don't have a big air port, you simply set up a small air field, with a hut that offers trainer flights for your lego citizens and gives them the tape after. There are so many possibilites for plenty of circumstances. The tanker is a lovely little inclusion to the set. yes its a bit small, but its only meant for short journeys on the air port refuelling. The hose was bigger than it is in the photo, but the end of it got frayed and I had to cut about half of it off. Its just the same as the fire hoses, exept it carries fuel, not water. You can also use the tanker to re-fuel your other lego creations. In a town, it could be part a garage, or a race car team. The little Octan man is happy refueling planes.... Helicopters.... But some things are just TOO BIG Overall I think this is a brilliant set. I'm not sure on the price, I think £15 maybe? That seems reasonable to me. As long as you have an imagination, there are so many things you can do with it. Playability: 10/10. So many things you can do with it, and the rebuild options are great. Wheels, wings, properlers, hulls, you can make nearly anything! Design: 8/10. It doesnt really look like a "normal" plane but I still like it. It can fit in on a small air field, or a large air port. Minifigs: 8/10. Two great Minifigs. The pilot one doesnt seem much like an actual pilot, but the octan driver is awesome. Overall, I would give this set a 9/10. A great classic lego set!
  10. My Brother has returned my regular camera to me, so I have updated the photo's of the Fire Truck. Also, I have managed to find all my pieces for my old fire truck, the 6358 Snorkel Squad. As you can see Snorkel Squad truck is quite a bit longer than the newer one, yet it is only 4 studs wide, and tiny in the hieght comparison. The ladder on SS is also slightly taller than that of the new one as well. Only slightly. Both of them have hoses which reach up to the top, as well as a basket for the fire men to stand in. The new Fire Truck is much more user friendly though. Both should look great in any fire station I wish I had a fire station :(
  11. I must say I quite like the look of the plane and colour, but with the price, I think there should be something a little extra other than just a wind sock. Like you mentioned, a pontoon or something you can add to your city/air port so the plane actually has a place to dock, other than just dumping it on the beach for anyone to run off with :p
  12. Apologies for the bad quality photos, my brother has taken my good digital camera on holiday with him, for now I'm left with one that is so out-dated and has been dropped numerous times. When he returns I shall take some better photos. And again apologies for the red on red colours. My desk is filled with Univeristy work, and my Drawing board is filled with half painted Tyranids! Only space I have in the house is my floor. But yeah, soon as I get my good camera back I will update the photos.
  13. Indexed Introduction Hi guys. This is my first review. It's one of the few sets I have that is not already listed under the review index, so hopefully this will be good and you can all enjoy in this fire truck. The others I'm afraid I have yet to discover in the huge pile of lego sitting in the middle of my bedroom. Name: Lego Fire Truck and Boat Theme: CITY Year: 2005 Pieces: 214 Minifigs: 2 Price: £13.49 Review Traffic in Brickago has come to a stand still as there has been a fire! Sadly there are no fire departments in the area, so a new fire engine has to be built on site! The construction crews block off the road and set to work creating a fire engine. We begin with the front of the box. Its a pretty big one, with plenty of pieces in it. The picture looks exiting with plenty going on. The back of the box shows all the various items that come with the fire engine, all its working parts and so forth. From the box alone it looks like a set I would give one glance to and want it. And for £13 its not too bad either. Two Mini Figs, a boat, a big truck and a trailer. After opening the box, we see all the bags numbered, plenty of pieces, three instruction booklets (that could have easily been one) a grey boat, some ladders, a hose and a leaflet with a few inspirational ideas to do with the kit once you get bored of the original design. Construction was pretty straight forward. Good variety of pieces, missed a few here and there but it was easy to go back and add to later on. The actual truck part is the main build, its a good, solid truck. 6 wheels, nice big cab, two doors on either side which open to reveal a box which fire fighting equipment can be put in. Axe, Helmet, Breathing aperatus. The driver can be put in easily, but you need to take the roof off first. Built up, I think the truck looks fantastic. Its big, carries plenty of little extras, the ladder will not spin or fly around until you deploy the two little balanceing sticks on either side. The ladder also stays up right by another stick and a series of indentations that the stick falls in, stopping the ladder from going down once raised. The Minifigs are pretty cool. One of them has a bum chin, the other a beard. One has yellow hands, the other silver. Similarly there is one white hat, and one silver. Not sure why exactly... There is a bucket on the end of the ladder for the fireman to stand in, either to retrive a trapped person, or take the hose up with him to spray water. The boat is grey, I think it should be a bit brighter, It has a life jacket for anyone being rescued from the water, or the firemen, but unlike the yellow ones that you place on a model, this is just a flat orange piece with a sticker of a life jacket. Playability: 9/10 - There is loads to do with this set. For a start its a fire engine, the excuse to go "NEEE NAAA NEEE NAAA" alone is reason enough to buy it. You get a ladder for reaching high places, a boat for the river, plenty of fire extinguishers and axes and radio's to kit out your mini figs with. Presentation: 7/10 - the Box is great, but I feel a little big. The instruction books as well seem far to small to be seperate. For a whole fire stations or equally big consturction, this would be good, but for something that takes half an hour or so to build, three different books seems like over kill. Building: 8/10 - Loads of different pieces, nothing too tricky, good variety of bricks for when you need to re-assemble it. There are a few stickers, but none of them are to hard to put on or look totaly out of palce Overall I think this a great set. 8/10
  14. ahhh - so you need to take the head off? That takes me back to a time long ago... My Minifig was just standing there looking totaly confused at this new 'space age lawn mower' but now he is exited about going into space. All he needs now is for me to find a space suit...and a space craft...
  15. Ah, so it is a jet pack. Although I can't for the life of me work out the correct way for a Mini Fig to hold onto it without looking like he is being dragged along it
  16. Not sure where to put this, so hope it's ok here. I was going through all my old lego today, trying to find as many old sets as possible (I have all my instruction books saved in a drawer, but the lego was just all in one big box) and I came accross one brick/piece I didn't realise I had - and have no idea what it goes with, or what it is used for, or anything. Another photo and another At first I thought it might be a jet pack? Or some form of scuba gear propulsion sub? But the way a mini-fig holds it just leaves me clueless. wtf is this? Could anyone tell me that this is for? I can not see it in any of my instruction books. It is 100% lego, it says under two of the stud holes in bottom (can't see in photo), so I know I'm not going crazy.
  17. That was my first thought, but with so many websites/places suddenly listing it as 'out of stock' I began to wonder. Will be getting it from the Lego website then Thanks guys! :)
  18. Hi Guys. I'm trying to find the Lego Camper for an Xmas present. I've been into town today and I can't find it any where. Toys'r'us, Argos x2, Tesco, all the shops that sell lego don't have it any where. I've been online and none of their shops have it in stock. Its on amazon but its £24.99 The RRP is 13.99 what the fudge? I've looked on the lego website and I think I will have get it from there. Any ideas why it has suddenly vanished? Is this the same case as the Patrol Boat and Tower for the Coast Guard (7739)
