  1. If those are the rules, then I apologise for the initial post and for not thoroughly being aware of the guidelines. But I think a more welcoming way of pointing that out to me would have been in order. However I maintain that the forum was unlocked, therefore a simple way of ensuring people don't adhere to the guidelines would be to lock threads of a certain vintage. The search facility was clearly very effective and therefore people will naturally just reply to a thread if they stumble upon it without necessarily checking the dates.
  2. Regarding this thread: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=2852&st=0&gopid=1243867entry1243867 I'm sorry if I happened to use the search facility to dig out an old thread. Surely that is what it is there for? I happened to have an interest in this set, and therefore felt it within my rights to post on what was clearly not a locked thread. It seemed far easier to post on that thread than go through a whole description about the set I was discussing. Why did I not use the "What did you Buy Today?" thread? Because I didn't buy it today, nor recently, it is something I brought out of the cupboard. You then helpfully locked it so that I could not reply to your particularly unwelcoming comment. Not a good way to encourage new-ish members. I'm sure that you will dismiss this comment and quite possible respond with a sarcastic message, but I personally felt obliged to respond.
  3. I've just brought this set out for my 6 year old, it was one of my favourite sets when young and always a centrepiece for my Lego towns. Always nice to show the kids that we had to actually build horses and so on in the old days. I'm very disappointed with myself though - all the stickers are long gone! I didn't realise it was so rare until reading up on it now though. It's a bookshop! But other than the sign that says "books" there is nothing extra inside to suggest that - unlike the shops we get these days.
  4. Just had a postcard through from Lego about this. Looks great and would love to have it with the Toy Shop, but £49.99 is too steep. They really know how to pressurise us into buying stuff
  5. My daughter got this set recently and it's excellent. RC moves really fast, the only downside is that this inevitably leads to a crash and pieces falling off! The antennae piece is a bit of a worry to me - I can see it getting yanked away from the holder and snap easily, as it is very long and narrow
  6. Have got my first two of these today, got the Roman and the Martial Art guy. A bit confused about the statues - is there a definite answer for what they are supposed to be?
  7. Bought it in October but waited until December to build it. First big Lego set I've bought and built for 20 years! Here it is, combined with the Santa and sled from the Christmas magnet set. Think it's a fantastic set and fits in well with our decorations!
  8. Doesn't look like anyone has commented on the fact that this was the promo given out with the Daily Mirror on Monday. I hadn't seen it before, it's a brilliant little set.
