Rocky Peaks Adventure Center There is a lot to do in the Brickanian Mountains. Visit Rocky Peaks Adventure Center ... Builder comments: this is my latest moc. It took about 6 months to build and was a welcome step away from my usual Space and Sci-Fi builds. It will be displayed at Legoworld 2019 In Utrecht (NL)

It has been a while since I have posted anything on this forum. My last posts were in de Dutch Moonbase topic. But as Dutch Moonbase is no longer active as a group I made this topic for my own moc's. My latest build is: Novus Vita - Beyond the Horizon After the Lunar Defense Force (LDF) had defeated the Darterians, Novus Vita was colonized by mankind. Alien races were more than welcome and Novus Vita became an intergalactic meetingpoint and tradingplace. After a period of relative peace plans were made to expore the rest of the galaxy. With the use of Darterian technology and the knowledge of other species, mankind took the next step into discovering the universe.. The project is together with my son Alex. It is 2 x 16 XL baseplates with the possiblity to add on both sides. The solarpanels were the startingpoint and we went from there. All pictures can be found on Flickr:

We added some more pictures showing lots of details of our layout. Pictures and video's can be found HERE

This year we visited Lego FanWelt again after a succesful first time in 2010. This time we didn't really build a space theme but more a mix between Sci-Fi and City. Photo by NXTchris 2012 The story behind the moc's and more pictures and video's can be found HERE

My lastest MOC is the MIRACLE Adventure Tower. This old communications tower was transformed into an adventure tower with a bungy-platform, rappel-track and some other fun stuff. Next to the tower is a small amusementpark with a maze and some other stuff. Builders comment: this tower was build as part of the layout we will show at Lego Fanwelt 2012 in Koln together with my Project MYRICL and some of Sky4walker's moc's (not yet named). All pictures can be seen HERE or visit Lego Fanwelt 2012 in Koln - Germany.

My new project: Project MYRICL - the McKnight Yubari Research Institute Cryogenics Laboratory. In this laboratory research is done into ways to get (and keep) people in artificial sleep to make long distance spacetravel possible. Ones based in the USA, the lab was transfered to The Netherlands as the US government banned testing on humans. The Dutch government was very willing to get this research to The Netherlands for employment possibilities and offcourse the nearby presence of DASA. A special law was passed to make testing on humans possible with only one restriction: only volunteers are allowed to join the project. Project MYRICL on Flickr Builders note: This moc was build over a period of 9 months with on-and-off building. It is 6x2 XL baseplates and IKEA led-strips are used for lighting.

@ MarvelousRoland I would advice you to start your own topic with your Tatooine build. That way people can respond to your wonderfull MOC in that topic. May I ask that you remove the pictures and just leave hyperlinks to your pictures. That way we keep this topic all about our pictures ... THANKS. Good work by the way Oh, in joined builds like the one we did last year, we only build with Dutch Moonbase teammembers. This is just the way that works best for us. Single builds like Tatooine and Trench Run are what they are ... single builds build by one teammember. For your information ... -

@Legocrazy81: YEP. we did the large 5 x 5 meter scene in Gunzburg last year. @All: thank you for the compliments . It makes it a lot harder to do even better next time ... But we shall try ... I saw a few people ask how many bricks we used ... well, a motherload of bricks and parts. We never counted them ... but for the Tatooine layout you can assume that there were a lot of happy Bricklink sellers -

@Holodoc ... sorry, but these MOC's were only on display for the duration of the Star Wars Event. -
Like last year we (The Dutch Moonbase team) were asked by Hein-Jan Kemperman from The Little Arms Shop to help in building new MOC's for the Star Wars Event in june 2011 in Legoland Germany. This year was a particular challange because we had to build all new MOC's as last years MOC'S were taken down. Sky4walker (Mike van Leeuwen) started on a large scale build of Tatooine where several scenes from the 6 movies were depicted. After 4 months of hardcore building he ended up with a 7 x 1.8 meter layout. I started on a build that started as a joke. On Legoworld 2010 in Zwolle (NL) I was challenged by Mike and Hein-Jan to build a 10 meter long trench from the film A New Hope. Well, I accepted ... It took me 3 month of building to complete a 6 x 1.2 meter trench including X-wing's, Tie fighters and Y-wings. All build to a 2/3 minifig scale. Tricky but it worked. It wasn't 10 meters long but I was out of parts, baseplates and space in my hobby-room. Other MOC"s were the enormous and highly detailed Droid Factory by a German builder, a hangar with ships from Mike's son Mitchel and a scene by Hein-Jan with the Millenium Falcon. The event stared sad as Hein-Jan's father pasted away the first day the guys were in Gunzburg. Hein-Jan returned to Holland and Mike started alone with setting up the tent with the help of some young ladies from the park. The event was a great succes. Just have a look at the pictures and our WEBSITE as pictures talk louder than words.

@Batman1: I can only say how long the lightgray buildings took to build. The part in the middle (the assault and victory parade) was already build and was only modified in Legoland for a better fit. Going on the picture displayed in the opening post: The large building at the back with landingplatform (right of the large building) and powerplant (left of the large building) took about 4 months also because Sky4walker didn't like the construction of the walls of the building so he changed that. The buildings/towers on the left with the blue windows and all of the buildings in the front took about 2 months to build. I have to admit that I was home a lot more than Sky4walker so I had more time during the day to build. Note: all the buildings were made modular for easy transport. The costs?? No idea ... It will be displayed (if all goes well) only ones more at Legoworld in Zwolle, The Netherlands (oktober 2010). @R5-N2: The dome was purpose-made for this moc ... -
